We absolutely love having you stay with us! Thank you again for taking good care of the river cabin. It means so much to us. We look forward to welcoming you again to our special part of Montana in the near future.
Donna was absolutely the best. Communication was amazing. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We saw lots of deer and even caught some fish. If I could give Donna a higher number than 5, I would! Truly amazing place!

Thank you SO much for coming all the way to stay with us! We were delighted to have you both and I hope you left a little bit of your heart here in the Stillwater Valley! We hope to see you again soon.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this beautiful cabin. We saw many deer, wild turkeys , geese and even an elk. The cabin had all the amenities and more you ever need.
We rented the cabin for four nights and enjoyed every second! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and well stocked. The beds were SO comfortable and the linens were beautiful. We were able to sleep with the windows open and listen to the rushing river just outside the cabin. We hadn’t slept that well in a long time!Donna is a real gem and the perfect host! We fished around the cabin area and also went up the road and found some really nice fishing accesses. We definitely plan to return. Thank you, Donna, for sharing your beautiful place with us and for your warm hospitality!

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed.
Right by the river. You could sit on the deck and watch the rapids and rafts go by.
The host was the most friendly and helpful ever.
You should try this place.
Pictures don’t do justice to this place. Beautiful location, comfortable beds and pillows. Everything provided to make it a wonderful stay. Even great gravity chairs on back porch to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the river. Owners were amazing and friendly. Definitely recommend!!!

Fantastic place!
This is our third year running staying on the Stillwater in this cabin. The location is fantastic, the cabin is updated and super clean with great furnishings.
Right out back the river is full of browns and rainbows. Scenery is gorgeous: deer, turkey, hawks etc...
Donna and Kurt go out of their way to make our visits carefree. Over the last three years we have attributed a large part of the trip's success to the cabin.
Love it.

Thank you gentlemen! We have thoroughly enjoyed have you each year and thank you for taking such wonderful care of the cabin! We hope to see you for many years in the future.
The location was perfect for me to access the area for outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, or just relaxing.
The amenities were great and nice to have the addition of the tv for evening entertainment. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable, having stayed at other locations where it felt like I was sleeping on a board. We will definitively be coming back. Donna was a perfect host and remembered all our names after only hearing them once. Impressive!

Thank you for taking such good care of the cabin. We were delighted to meet you and look forward to your return!
Loved this place, right on the river with most of our time spent on the deck to relax. Entertained by one goose, two bunnies and three deer. While it was too hot to fish, took a dip in the river and canvassed the area to take in the scenery. A storm blew through one evening with some memorable weather drama. The cabin had everything we needed and so peaceful. This is our second time in the area, first time at this cabin and recommend. We unplugged from technology, which was a rare opportunity (there is internet for those who want it) and would love to return.

We loved having you both stay at our special cabin and were glad you found us this year! Thank you for taking such good care of the cabin. We look forward to hosting you again one day very soon.
We love the area. It is glorious and with the cabin only a few yards from the river makes it even more special. So easy to step out and have successful fishing. Our host, Donna was lovely, friendly, and helpful. The cabin has everything you would need and is very comfortable. We plan on going back again when the opportunity comes up between time, weather, and good fishing time.
Every year we return to this cabin and ask ourselves, "Why would we stay anywhere else?"
The cabin has everything. Comfortable beds and linens , well equipped - fully functioning kitchen and a covered deck with the most comfortable reclining chairs by the Stillwater. The cabin WiFi is fast enough to enable WiFi phone calls as well as download and watch full length movies.
The fishing along the cabin is fantastic and I have never seen another soul in this stretch. Our first night at the cabin there was a fantastic caddis hatch. 10 - 16" browns and rainbows were rising all over the river and were eager to take dry flies and nymphs.
The valley is gorgeous, quiet and full of amazing sites.
Lastly, Donna and Kurt are accommodating and gracious hosts, I am already looking forward to seeing them and visiting next summer!
The location was exactly what we were looking for--away from people/cars, etc. Getting there was tricky, but once there it was heavenly--the sound of the river rushing by, the cabin which was much better than the photos showed, the hospitality of the owner, the peace and serenity to just relax, no electronics except wifi, read lots of books, slept well with the sound of the river, good kitchen for meals, just much better than we expected--even with the little bugs at night that like the lights. Definitely want to go back again.

About the host
Hosted by Donna von Nieda
Kurt and Donna von Nieda moved their family to The River Cabin at Falcon's Ledge in the Stillwater Valley from Washington state. It was always their dream to live in Montana and they have raised three children in The River Cabin. They love the valley, the people and the wildlife in this little bit of 'heaven on earth.'
Why they chose this property
This property was selected primarily because of its variety of land features. From the 3/8 of a mile of river front to the landmark 'teakettle' rock, this piece of property is ever changing and dramatic.
What makes this property unique
One of the best aspects of staying at The River Cabin at Falcon's Ledge is that you get to listen to the soothing sounds and watch the cascade of water flowing by. Couple that with the lilting sounds of birds and wind in the trees, and (at the right time of year) the fragrance of lilacs in the air and you have an experience like none other. With little ambient light and noise, there is a tranquility and sense of peace at The River Cabin that is hard to find nowadays.
