Description:
Jack Lake charming lakeside cottage and guest house, have undergone exquisite renovations. These accommodations, complete with Wi-Fi, offer a warm welcome accompanied by breathtaking lake views, mesmerizing sunrises, and picturesque sunsets. Whether sipping your morning coffee in the rocking chair indoors, on the deck, or by the Adirondack chairs on the dock, you're sure to relish the beauty of the surroundings.

Convenient open shelving in both the cottage and cabin kitchens ensures that everything is easily accessible. Additionally, a coffee maker/Keurig and kettle, along with a full selection of cookware, are provided. Both the cottage and Cabin/Guesthouse are equipped with a kitchen- stove, fridge, and microwave, offering ample amenities, a living room, 2 bedrooms, and a deck. Sleeping arrangements cater to two families, each building featuring two bedrooms—one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. The cottage boasts an extra daybed that transforms into a king-sized bed. The cottage includes a 4-piece washroom, while the cabin/guesthouse features a large 3-piece washroom.
Relax in front of the ROKU TV on a comfy couch and chair. A propane and electric fireplace add ambiance and warmth if needed.

The cottage is perfect for any four-season escape and for the extended family.

There is 125 feet of shoreline frontage. The bottom is sand and weeds are beginning at the end of the dock. In early summer, the depth is approximately 5 feet off the end of the dock. When you swim out a bit, the weeds disappear.
In the later summer, you can walk out and children can play in the sand at shore.

The cottage and cabin include a 16 ft. canoe, a 12 ft. kayak, and a 2-person SUP (stand-up paddleboard) which also converts to a tandem kayak. Great toys for enjoying the lake.

Indulge in a starlit campfire while roasting marshmallows, savor a delightful BBQ dinner, unwind on the deck or dock, and relax in the hot tub!

Jack Lake beckons for your lakeside escape!

5 min. to Apsley

Officially, the body of water immediately south of Apsley, Ontario, is named Jack Lake. However, older and long-term lake residents and their families refer to it possessively as Jack’s Lake. This distinctive name has roots in the local Native chief "Handsome Jack," who passed away in 1835. Interestingly, his English name might have been a somewhat sarcastic reference to his possible less-than-pleasing appearance.

Spanning approximately 3013 acres with a maximum depth of 140 feet, Jack Lake is nestled within the Peterborough Game Preserve. This preserve stands as one of the last bastions of protected, untouched land in the cottage country, providing an ideal habitat for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and those seeking tranquility in a picturesque Canadian Shield environment adorned with towering pines and granite outcrops.

Jack Lake is particularly renowned for its diverse fishing opportunities, boasting catches of muskie, bass, walleye, trout, and black crappie. The lake's allure extends beyond its angling appeal, inviting nature lovers to revel in the abundance of deer and the unspoiled beauty that characterizes this pristine region.

Other Things to Note:

Dear Guests,
We hope you enjoy your stay at our cottage and create wonderful memories. We kindly request your cooperation in maintaining a neat, clean, and tidy environment during your visit.

While we do provide a cleaning service, it is essential for all guests to leave the premises in a neat & orderly condition upon departure.

We would like to emphasize that our cottage is a privately owned home, not a housekeeping cottage or hotel. As such, we appreciate your understanding and participation in keeping the space well-maintained.

In the event that additional cleaning is required, extra charges will be charged accordingly.

We genuinely appreciate your respect for our home. Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope you have a wonderful stay at our cottage!

We're delighted to welcome children and infants to this cottage, and many happy families have visited! However, we want to stress the vital importance of providing close supervision at all times. It's important to note that while the cottage is child-welcoming, it may not be specifically designed or equipped for your child's individual needs. Therefore, we cannot guarantee or imply suitability tailored to your child(ren). To ensure their safety and well-being, we strongly recommend that children are closely supervised at all times throughout their stay. Our utmost priority is for everyone to have a fantastic and enjoyable time at our cottage!

Lake-side cheers!
