Vacation in the gorgeous rolling hills and vineyards of Western Sonoma County.
The queen bed is of high quality 6' memory foam with a bedbug/waterproof encasement. Down pillows and duvet, quality sheets, and a beautiful blanket. The bed frame is vintage 70's teak platform with built in side tables. Good bedside table lighting. One window faces west with sweeping views of the vineyards in the distance and the spa area in the foreground. The south facing balcony has a sliding door that overlooks the pool and the vista beyond. The walls are adorned with original paintings from the 50's - 90's from the owners and her sister. The mid-century theme is both stylish and relaxing. A dresser with ample storage sits across from a comfortable chair and reading light. We purposefully did not include a Television in this room to promote even further relaxation and relief from the stresses of life.

About Nancy Irish and Doug Blumer
FancyNest Farm belongs to our Mother, Pat Amez. Pat, her daughter Nancy Irish and son-in-law Doug Blumer are the trio behind FancyNest. Pat is a renowned painter and several of her works are on display in The Birdhouse. She will even give a private tour of her original watercolors in the main house if you ask nicely! Doug and Nancy are the leaders of a local Americana Band called 'The Bohemian Highway'. You will receive a copy of their latest album as a thanks when you check in. Many guests are thrilled to have a 'soundtrack' to their stay. Pat moved to this location with her family back in the mid-70's. Nancy graduated from the local high school. Fast forward to 2010...Doug and Nancy had lived for over 20 years in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach District. Pat was thinking about selling the place and moving on. Together, they decided to try to preserve the family homestead. The property has had many significant upgrades, and now we are focusing on the rental property.
Nancy Irish and Doug Blumer purchased this House in 1976
Why Nancy Irish and Doug Blumer chose Sebastopol
This location is special. The incredible expansive views just make you relax the moment you drive down the hill to the house. There is space just to sit and contemplate nature. Open sky to watch the hawks circling above. We honored the birds by focusing our design around being able to view these wonders of nature. The private deck is on the eastern side of the house which provides a secluded retreat for you to sit and watch the birds at the feeder and the bird bath. The Birdhouse looks west to the beautiful vineyards across the valley. Sunsets can be breathtaking.
What makes this House unique
Wake up to the sound of the California Quail chirping. The wild turkeys will gobble by. The soaring hawks. The beyond-the-speed-of-light humming birds. And thats just a few birds we can name. The house is light filled. Art filled. Comfort filled. You will relax here! We strove to make this an incredible place that WE want to spend time in. We are also centrally located to all that is wonderful about Western Sonoma County. You can walk along the magnificent Pacific coastline in under 30 minutes. You can stroll among the majestic redwoods at Armstrong woods. You can ride your bike on the back roads. Don't forget the many amazing wineries and great restaurants scattered around the area.
