There is not a better view of Kentucky Lake available than "The Barge Inn" on Kentucky Lake. This lakefront property is located on a tall bluff overlooking the widest part of Kentucky Lake where the Tennessee River merges with the Big Sandy River. You will see the Big Sandy Wildlife Refuge across the lake to the West. You will see Paris Landing State Park Lodge 4.0 ⁸miles across the lake to the north. Your view of Tennessee River traffic is unimpeded for a 12 mile stretch of the river channel. You will enjoy watching sail boats, lots of barges, cabin cruisers, fishing tournaments, cargo ships, and river cruise boats. The wind currents caused by the bluff next to the lake result in the perfect location to watch the eagles soar looking for their next meal. You will be able to enjoy lake activities just 200 yards down the road to the beach. There are (4) kayaks and a pedal boat available to use when the weather is calm. The beach provides a great place to swim, float and fish. Nature, small towns, antiques and Civil War history are the main attractions at the Barge Inn. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle look no further.
The Barge Inn lake front retreat is light, airy and clean with spacious living areas, two large decks, comfortable bedrooms, great mattresses, sparkling clean fully supplied bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.
This lakeside retreat is only 2 hours from Nashville, Tn if you want to take a day trip to Music City. The property is 40 minutes from Murray State University or 1 hour from Austin Peay University. The Barge Inn is only 25 minutes from Ft. Donelson, a Civil War fort, that was key to securing the Cumberland River gateway to Nashville Tn. The original surrender house for the Battle of Dover is part of the National Park landmarks in Dover, Tn. that you can tour. The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is about 30 minutes away. This area offers hiking, biking, horseback riding, a buffalo and elk range that can be driven through, a nature center, a planetarium, and more.

The Barge Inn was an awesome getaway. The place is restful and peaceful. The view is amazing and we saw several eagles. Paris TN is not far and a super cute town. We enjoyed visiting Ft. Donelson to learn more history and take some great hiking trails. Highly recommend The Barge Inn!

What a breathtaking view from the moment you drive up. And when you open the door to the Barge Inn it is amazing. Everything is there that you will ever need for a very relaxing time away from home. The view of the lake and the wildlife is absolutely memorizing. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a very relaxing place to stay.

We loved our stay here! It was very clean! Had a comfy bed and pillows!The screened in deck displayed a massive lake view with beautiful sunsets! In the mornings we watched eagles flying by. The kitchen was well equipped. One of our best experiences when staying somewhere with VRBO. Vince and Pat were great hosts!!!

The views cannot be beat, and it was exceptionally clean. Pat and Vince were wonderful hosts, and we are already planning our next trip. They even had homemade banana bread waiting on us. The beach area is a short walk down the road. We have rented many VRBOs, and this is easily in our top 5.

The house was perfect for our family. Very clean and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Hosts were very hospitable and very helpful with anything we needed during our stay. The view was amazing with beautiful sunsets over the lake. The location is perfectly named, as we saw plenty of eagles flying around and were eye level with the porch. Would definitely come back to stay again. 5 stars all around!

We had a fabulous stay! The owners were incredibly nice and helpful and communicative. Check in was a breeze. The beds were very comfortable. This rental included everything you could possibly need (kayaks, pedal boats, golf cart, life jackets, water noodles, etc) for enjoying time on the lake. The view was INCREDIBLE. It was very hard to leave! I wholeheartedly recommend this rental.

Our stay at the Barge Inn was wonderful. The hosts are the best. The view....amazing. The house was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the matress was so comfortable. We are already looking forward to visiting again.

Barge Inn was outstanding. It was immaculately clean and very well equiped. The view is stunning(including eagles and osprey winging past at eye level!!!) and we just wanted to stay put and watch from that glorious cathedral style screened in porch! Our hosts were very responsive to our questions and were generous with their time in telling us all about the history of the area and great suggestions about area attractions that fit our interests. We can't say enough about our appreciation of our stay there!

What a wonderful experience!! We stayed at the Barge Inn for a sisters trip and it did not disappoint. The house is spotless, the beds are cozy, and the deck and the views are to die for!! We spent most of our days at the Barge Inn on the deck talking, catching up and soaking up the view. When we arrive 2 eagles flew by at eye level as if to greet us! We so enjoyed them during our stay. When we weren't enjoying the view we went to the beach which was a quick trip by the golf cart that was available. The shore is very rocky(large rocks) so water shoes are important. But, the water was warm and relaxing. Bring a little float and enjoy the barges and boats going by. We also went kayaking in the available kayaks and really enjoyed that as well. The Barge Inn is a little ways away from restaurants and shops, but plan accordingly and enjoy a day trip out or two if you feel the need to get out and about. But, for those that just want to catch up, have some family time, reconnect, the Barge Inn is perfect. LOVED it!!!

We stayed at Barge Inn for a week recently. It was a very nice house in a nice neighborhood. It was easy to contact the owners and they were always willing to help us if we had questions. A great place to stay.

The view and screened in porch were absolutely amazing!!! Everything was clean and well stocked with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The beds and furniture are comfortable and accommodating for 6. The area is very peaceful and quiet. Great get away. Would recommend for stay.
