Just a perfect house for our group of eight family members. We were attending a wedding on site which was also fantastic. The house was super clean, spacious and well stocked. Great deck with a view of Wyman Lake. Wholeheartedly recommend Point House!
Easy check in and the facility is amazing. We had a few issues with windows and needed to contact the owners and they were quick and come right up! It was an amazing location and so peaceful!
We rented this house for a girls tubing trip weekend. It was a great space with all the amenities. There is a nice path to the lake and we loved the deck and fire pit. The sheets, towels, beds, and blankets were extreme comfortable. There was a mishap with a door but the host responded to our message immediately. The house was clean and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Thank you for everything!
Great layout of the home for larger groups. Plenty of bedrooms and common areas for people to spread out. Good location for snowmobiling directly from the property. Kitchen set up was excellent. Home has a little deferred maintenance. Could use a really thorough spring cleaning but overall the property is good and would book here again.
This place was like a lottery dream home if you love the outdoors. Huge and spacious in every aspect - bedrooms, shared space, bathrooms, MASSIVE deck looking right out at the Kennebeck River, and lots of land to walk around the shore line. It is very much a hunting themed lodge but we were there for rafting, which is about 3 minutes away. Everything was modern and updated and the owner was responsive to all questions. We are planning another trip we were so happy with it.
If you want to get away to the most peaceful place in the most perfect home, you need to stay here! Our friends decided to tube the Kennebec River and stay in this lovely house. It was perfect for all twelve of us! I love the woodsy decor, the deck and fireplace, and the ample room where we could hang out together or find spots a little more private for resting and recharging. Garret is the most responsive, pleasant host and we are so grateful to him for sharing his amazing home with us. We will definitely be back for another trip on the river and will stay at Garret's property!
The property and its location were great for a group get-away. The house is larger than it looks in the pictures and easily accommodated us while staying for our rafting weekend. The large deck & living room and trail down to access the river were all big hits with our group and its a quick 5 minute drive to Northern Outdoors for our rafting trip.
There were several aspects of our stay that could have been better. First, we were left with very little propane for the grill. The tank ran out while grilling our 2nd meal (the replacement seemed to already be empty) and we had to send someone to the store (about 30-40min) and pay to replace it.
Second, we saw multiple mice in the downstairs kitchen and bedrooms shortly after arriving. A member of our group stopped to buy traps on their way and we caught 3 mice in a downstairs bedroom in our first night. While I understand that its a lodge in the woods and controlling mice can be a challenge, it begins to be a problem when they are getting into food and personal belongings.
Finally, the large propane fire pit on the deck was not working during out stay. The owner DID communicate this to us the day before our stay, indicating that it was damaged by previous guests and that he was waiting on a replacement part, but still disappointing for us, as it is a great space for larger groups to sit around a fire at night.
Overall, we still enjoyed our stay and Garret's property and would stay here again if presented the opportunity.
