About this property
Charming Haven in the Woods-Little Chestnut Cabin
Little Chestnut Cabin is a two bedroom, one bath cabin, tucked into the woods of Mount Hood National Forest. The structure was entirely renovated in 2019 to bring modern comforts to a rustic space which opens onto a deck with a fenced space, overgrown with native plants and towering trees.
The space
This cabin is designed for those who wish to escape the bustle of every day life and surround themselves with nature. We bought the cabin because it is close to all the things we love, and can’t wait to share it with you. We live there a third of the time, and in Portland the rest of the time, so we’re familiar with the area and happy to give recommendations. The cabin is centrally located for almost any outdoor adventure. There are dozens of beautiful hikes within half an hour, three fantastic mountain bike trail systems (Sandy Ridge, Skibowl Freeride Park, and Timberline) within 15 minutes, and three downhill ski areas within half an hour. We have a stock of guidebooks as well as directions to our favorite spots in the cabin. That being said, sometimes it is important to have some space to take care of work, so there is a separate studio perfect for virtual meetings and focused time.
The property is fully enclosed with a 4 foot chain link fence so dogs (maximum of 2) can run and sniff. The firepit can be used seasonally, and is not to be used during burn bans.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cabin and surrounding 1/2 acre of property.
A lockbox code allows self check in.
The driveway is small and narrow, there is room for two cars with some maneuvering. Please consider consolidating to one car if possible. There is not room for large trucks or trailers.
Other things to note
Little Chestnut Cabin is secluded, but is part of a small neighborhood. Please be respectful of the residents who are lucky enough to call this place home year round. While we are close to Sandy River, our property does not have river access.
