About this property

Huge Sprawling Guest Ranch on the San Saba River - Sleeps 50

Welcome to your very own private ranch resort in The Heart of Texas. This is a private and exclusive rental, meaning that you will have the entire property to yourselves.

The ranch consists of 1000 rolling acres with Live Oak Savannas, open grasslands, high views and natural springs flowing down limestone canyons.
There are over one and half miles of private river frontage, 2 mile-long canyons on the ranch to explore on foot, over 8 miles of private trails for ATV’s or high clearance vehicles, as well as an old german homestead to explore from the 1870’s.
Guests can enjoy fishing on the banks of the San Saba for a variety of species including Guadalupe bass, hiking on over 8 miles of private trails.
There is also a cave on the property where we have unearthed some amazing archaeological treasures over the years!
- In addition to horses, wildlife is abundant and includes whitetail, hogs, turkey, armadillo, roadrunners, and more.

For our family reunions/weddings/large group events we do have tables and chairs on site available for rent.

For groups OVER 31 guests you are required to rent the rest of the ranch which includes the Stillwater House, the Pool House, and the Quad. These cabins can hold 29 more guests for a total of 60 guests.

Please keep in mind this is an exclusive, family-oriented resort. We do not allow wild bachelor parties, youth group events, or keg parties. The minimum age required to register your group is 25 years old.

List of guided excursions offered on the ranch!

1. Skeet shooting/pistol range: $150 per day
This is a self-guided activity where guests provide their own shotguns, clays and ammunition, and the ranch provides the location to shoot and/or the skeet launcher. There is a $150 charge for the use of the shooting range and a $150 charge for the use of the skeet range. This is a one time fee. Options for a full skeet option with rented guns, ammo and targets are available for groups as well.

2. Hayride and Cave Tour: $250 (30 Participants)
This is our most popular group activity. This is a 2 hour educational tour highlighting the conservation efforts of the ranch, Native American history, and ending in an exploration of our cave system.

3. Square Dance with Professional Callers: $450 (All Guests)
Our square dances are a great opportunity for groups to truly get into the country spirit. A pair of professional callers will lead you through the steps of a variety of dances. It's fun for all ages. The event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance.

4. Wine and Cheese tasting: $350 (10 guests 21 aged and over)
If you have a desire for some culinary culture then our wine and cheese tasting may be perfect for you. Our staff will present an assortment of hill country fare at the main lodge and educate the participants on everything they try (with a bit of trivia added).

5. Tomahawk throwing tournament w/ guide $300 (all guests)
Our newest addition to the ranch and certainly one of the most fun. Your group will be divided into 2 teams and compete against one another in an old-fashioned tomahawk throwing competition. This event is available for all guests (aged 10 and up)

6. Painting Class on the river - $65 per person (5 person minimum)
This is a favorite activity for the ladies (but men love it too). Easels and canvases are set up on the river, and an instructor teaches everyone how to paint a subject with a western theme. This event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance.

7. Cowboy Barbacoa: $1100 for pig/ (up to 30 guests)
This is as Texan as it gets. We fill a ground pit with hot coals, and bury a whole pig underground for half the day. At suppertime, our staff exhumes the cooked meat and serves it barbacoa-style on outdoor picnic tables. The meal portion takes 1 hour and this event must be reserved in advance.

8. Roping Lessons: $350 for all guests
Nothing says “Texas” like learning how to rope from a real west Texas Cowboy. This event is a ton of fun and everyone can try it. Your group will learn the techniques of roping like a real cowboy and in no time everyone will be hitting their target. This event takes 1.5 to 2 hours, is for all ages and must be reserved in advance.

9. Fly fishing instruction: $250 for up to 5 guests
This is a great chance to learn the basics of fly fishing. Your instructor will teach you to assemble and bait your rod, proper casting techniques, and once you have the basics down its time to fish! Our stocked pond is a great place to reel in a variety of fish like bass, crappie and blue gill. This event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance.

Beautiful & Peaceful Spot for Rest & Renewal
The location is perfect -- far enough away from town to be quiet and serene but close enough for a quick trip for food or supplies. The accommodations cannot be beat. The sleeping capacity is tremendous with several different bedroom sizes and beds. Bathroom availability is more than adequate as well. If needed, separation for men and women can be easily accomplished. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the cooking pans, utensils, and dishes you could need. We used the main lodge for staff meetings and gatherings. It was perfect for good conversation and thinking strategically. The outdoor environment is the key selling point. The view of the San Saba River is unmatched. The property is large for exploring. Our group chose to engage in an optional activity of axe throwing, which was fun and provided a good atmosphere for team building. During the season, you can tell that the fire pit area would be a really neat addition to any stay. We will definitely stay here again!
