Run away!

We thought this would be the perfect property from which to view the 2024 Eclipse. Location was perfect. Booked 9 months in advance. House was completely trashed. Not even rentable. Previous occupants had left an open bag of food and rotting meat in the laundry room, which was also the furnace room. Smelled like a dead body when we came in. I have video of me trying not to wretch. Worked with both the owner and VRBO. Neither solved the problem. Keep in mind that VRBO is not here for you the renter. We could not go anyplace else because everything for a 50 mile radius was booked. Cleaned all weekend. More that 15 manhours. Could never remove the smell regardless of all the candles, fabreezes, filter changes, carpet deodorizers and smell goods in the entire world! Besides that, the kitchen had NEVER been cleaned. They NEVER changed the bedsheets or washed them. The pillows were disgusting and at least 20 years old! No towels!!! We had to purchase all this ourselves to make the place stayable. Run away! Far away!!! Worst VRBO experience EVER. I have over 80 pictures of evidence about how poorly this property was maintained.
