About this property

Brand New Wooden Native House with a Modern Western Twist

Nestled beside the ancient rainforests of Palawan, overlooking the majestic Cadlao island, Tuko Kubo's native newly builds offer guaranteed peace & tranquility away from the hustle & bustle of downtown.
West facing with amazing sunsets all season, your tropical daydreams come to life with the surrounding nature.

Tuko Kubo is situated above the rustic fishing village of Lamoro, approximately 10 kilometres from the old town of El Nido and 4 kilometres to the conveniences of Lio Beach, airport, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, ATM.
Our location is perfect for explorers, and is exactly halfway between the two best beache in the area, Nacpan to the north and Maremegmeg to the south.

Developed in 2023 from local native materials, TukoKubo offers expertly hand-crafted eastern accommodation with all the conveniences of modern western standards.

The property sits atop a hill, beside the rainforest and set way back from the road, with a staggered floor-plan, comprising three adjoining open-plan square units of a little under 5 metres x 5 metres each, giving a total of over 70 square metres of space to relax in. The back level hosts the mountain spring-water bathroom, changing area and then fully fitted kitchen. The centre level hosts the bedroom & lounge, and the foremost front level is the magnificent all wood outside covered terrace/dining area.
(Please refer to photos for a clearer understanding)

If you are coming to El Nido for bar hopping, then it's highly recommend not choosing TukoKubo.
However, if you're here for island hopping, exploring and adventure, with an appreciation for the natural beauty our planet has to offer, then welcome to our home!

I'm Marriane.
I have designed and constructed three gorgeous cute wooden holiday homes that I call TukoKubo.
Kubo is the name for native house and Tuko is the name for the native gecko. Since we're living next to the rainforest you can hear the "TU-KO TU-KO" calls each night, which really gives a sense of freedom.
Don't worry, these critters are not dangerous to us, but they love the bugs that we hate, so I'm more than happy to have them around. They're so cute.
I've been in hospitality for almost ten years, so I know how to communicate with tourists, and understand their quality standards. I am aiming to build TukoKubo into a self-sustaining paradise with fruit trees and solar energy in the coming months/years and hope you'll enjoy staying at my place.

As for my likes? hmmmm. Korean drama, videoke and Japanese food. All things seafood and living amongst the nature of El Nido

Why they chose this property

One of the last un-spoilt paradises on earth, where nature roams unhindered by mankind's machinery for the most part.
El Nido is one of the most enchanting places on the planet, and just sitting on the terrace at sundown, enjoying a glass of wine and listening to nature waking up for the night-shift makes me really appreciate each day.

What makes this property unique

TukoKubo is one of the few newly built properties in the area made from native materials hand crafted by local people. My philosophy is that western tourists don't need to come all this way to stay in a mass-produced concrete box. They can do that back home for a fraction of the cost.
I want to give them a complete experience. The modern stylish living that they're accustomed to, but in a native design, set amongst the wilderness with a guaranteed sunset all summer.
I mean come on...What can beat the sunset with a glass of wine in hand, the forest coming to life, the bats doing their dance and the serenity of the islands and ocean immediately in front of my eyes?
