Our quiet, centrally-located home combines Southern heart with Houston’s artistic spirit in the historic Eastwood neighborhood. Here in EaDo (East Downtown), you'll be a few light rail stops to downtown, stadiums, many restaurants and bars, and a quick walk to a grocery store, cafe, and Mexican bakery on tree-lined streets. We, and our co-host Hunter, want to share our authentic H*town home. Don't forget s'mores supplies for the fire pit.
THE SPACE
You will rent the entire lower unit of our historic duplex home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, dining room, living room, and washer/dryer; the lower full kitchen opens up to the backyard with porch swings and fire pit. The backyard is shared with any guests in the upper unit.
We are pet friendly. See details in the listing.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Our Eastwood home is located right across from the historic Spanish-style Lantrip Elementary School (but still very quiet!) and original 1919 Eastwood Community Church, now revitalized as Sanctuary Lofts.
GETTING AROUND
You will be walking distance to the light rail which is just a few stops to stadiums to see the Astros, the Dynamo and Dash, downtown theatre events, Discovery Green, Toyota Center, and the Convention Center.
You can walk to Kroger grocery store (8 min.), La Reynera Mexican Bakery for sweets or potato tacos with not-to-miss homemade flour tortillas (5 min.) and restored Cameron Ironworks (12 min.) building with its numerous shops, including Segundo Coffee Lab and workspace. The University of Houston, EaDo, and all freeways are just a few minutes' drive (or bike ride), as are great restaurants and bars like White Rhino, How to Survive on Land and Sea, Tiny Champions (Pizza), Huynh Vietnamese, Voodoo Queen, 8th Wonder Brewery, and many others. Please check our in-home guide.
Rice University, East End farmers’ market at Navigation (Sundays), Buffalo Bayou trails, and the Houston Arboretum are all in close proximity.
Ubers and Lyfts are easily accessible in this area.
