Getting Around:
Winter Weather & Mountain Travel Notice
During the winter months, weather conditions in Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain can be unpredictable. Snow, ice, high winds, and rapidly changing road conditions are common and should be expected when traveling to and from the property.
For your safety and ease of travel, we strongly recommend arriving in a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle during winter months. Snow chains may also be necessary depending on conditions. Guests are responsible for monitoring weather forecasts, road conditions, and state travel advisories prior to departure and during travel.
We strongly recommend planning your arrival for around 4:00 PM while daylight is still available. Mountain roads can become significantly more difficult to navigate after dark, especially during or after winter weather events.
While we make reasonable efforts to clear driveways and walkways, snow removal is not guaranteed, especially during active snowfall or severe weather conditions. Natural snowfall may accumulate faster than it can be safely cleared. Snow shovels are provided for guest use so you can clear additional accumulation to your preference.
Mountain travel may be slower than expected, and road closures or delays can occur without notice. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment in case of weather-related travel interruptions.
Please note that winter weather, road conditions, flight cancellations, or travel delays are not valid reasons for refunds, date changes, or cancellations outside of the listing’s stated cancellation policy. By booking this property, you acknowledge the inherent risks of winter mountain travel and accept responsibility for arriving safely and prepared.
Other Things to Note:
In times of inclement weather (snow) please park at the top of the driveway near the road to avoid vehicles being trapped by ice and snow!

We had the most amazing time! We cannot wait to go back! The view is unbeatable! Easy access to everything! Speedy responses. Every thing is top notch and updated! Every angle is unbeatable!!
Space as excellent. Clean and well appointed perfect for a couple of days of skiing. The 4th bedroom at the top had a great view of the mountains. Host was very responsive. We loved our stay.
We booked this to go skiing and the weather turned on us to do that. There is not much to do in the in between seasons but most things are 15-30 min drives away. We enjoyed the fire pit, views, and being able to cook and enjoy the mountain views. Great for two small families with old enough kiddos to navigate the stairs. Bring up food and supplies on your way or you’ll have to go down the mountain! We learned that quickly. Also wrote down the WiFi prior to coming. We did not have service on the mountain and had to drive to connect. Great spot. The property manager was very responsive and we had a wonderful time!

This place is absolutely perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is well-equipped, clean, and so cute! The beds are comfortable, the amenities are plentiful, and the space is so cozy. We will definitely be back!!
Property was awesome, great location, big open space for entertaining and plenty of beds. While the property was great, the property manager was first class. From updates to check in, response time was unprecedented. All VRBO need to learn from these guys.
The place was really clean. We loved the indoor fireplace for the cold nights. The hot tub was the hangout spot for us. We were less than a mile from beech mtn and skied there. We ended our stay at sugar mountain. The property manager responded quickly to requests. Would stay here again
Great location, excellent communication, plenty of towels. Sunsets were pretty and there is a nice stream below but sound was overpowered by traffic noise and nearby construction. It is definitely lacking space of closet/wall hooks or shelves as others noted and some window shades wouldn’t stay up. We enjoyed hiking and disc golf on Beech Mtn and it was cool enough even in July to relax in the hot tub afterwards. Lots of deer in the neighborhood!

Thank you, Scott, for your thoughtful feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed your time on Beech Mountain. We appreciate your insights and are committed to making improvements. The construction since the hurricane has been ongoing, but I hope it didn't impact your stay too negatively. We hope to welcome you back soon for another wonderful stay!
There is not just one thing that I LOVED about this property.
Location? OK, can I just say YES? It is at the heart of slopes, beauty, restaurants and plenty of wildlife.
The home is immaculate. So clean, so comfortable, and decorated just adorably.
Communication was fantastic.
The only suggestion I would give to anyone coming is to have a plan for your clothing. There is limited space in the rooms and no closets in the rooms. No complaints, just know you may need to use your luggage for your clothing if staying for longer than a couple of days.
We will return!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this delightful cabin in Beach Mountain, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the breathtaking views and the tranquil environment that made for the perfect getaway.
The cabin itself was cozy yet spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was comfortable, complete with a fireplace that added a touch of warmth and relaxation.
One of my favorite features was the outdoor deck, where I could enjoy my morning coffee while taking in the stunning scenery and sounds of nature. Additionally, the outside fireplace in the backyard was perfect for cool evenings, providing a cozy and inviting space to unwind. The hot tub was another highlight, offering a relaxing soak with the backdrop of the beautiful mountain landscape.
The location of the cabin was perfect for exploring Beach Mountain. It offered easy access to hiking trails, local shops, and restaurants, while still providing that secluded feel that makes a mountain retreat so special.
Overall, my stay at the cabin was nothing short of amazing. It was a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the mountains. I can't wait to return!
