It was clean inside, steep stairs going up. We had to sweep off the outside deck and chairs. Wish it had water access. On a quiet road, good for walks. Kinda expensive for what you get, but we enjoyed the quiet.
We had a lovely time for our weekend getaway. We were amazed by the natural beauty, enjoyed near by hiking, and cozied up by the outdoor fire pit and gazed at the stars. The hosts were helpful and kind. What a cute cabin!
We had an amazing Spring stay and got in some trout fishing. The cabin was dry, clean, and had plenty of hot water/ water pressure. Thank you for the snacks we will be back soon hopefully!
Our stay was very enjoyable. The host put a lot of thought and effort to make us feel very comfortable! The little things made a huge difference. The beds shower were amazing!
Such a cute cabin surrounded by beautiful trees, overlooking the Black River. We were very comfortable all weekend watching TV and cooking fall favorites.
Check in was a breeze.
Host was very welcoming.
Rustic little cabin surrounded by old growth pine on the Black River. Owl was living on the property and fun to observe and hear. Beds are comfortable and morning sunlit forest and river were glorious to behold. Host was friendly and easy to get ahold of!
The Cabin itself is so cute! The inside is surprisingly modern based on the outside. It’s very clean, the views were great too! Has everything you need to make it a comfortable for a cozy stay! Couldn’t walk all the way down to the river, stairs cut off and it’s pretty steep. It would be nice to have stairs that are a little wider. Our dog wouldn’t come up the stairs at night, we had to walk sideways or backwards down them so that would be the only thing that was not a positive. Otherwise I would totally go back, they were very responsive and they actually take care of a lot for you, which was lovely! Tanya

Okay for some, impossible for others. Do your homework!
The cabin was cozy and situated above the Black River. Very clean, nicely appointed, and close to Winona, La Crosse, and many other fun towns. I enjoyed my stay, and my dog appreciated the quiet location. The stairway, as advertised is pretty steep. I could go up and down, but was afraid if I got up after dark, I could not safely go down (a reflection on me, not on the cabin) so I slept on the couch. I am 71 with 2 knee replacements. The rain shower was very nice. I was not able to reach the shelf that had the plates and glasses on it (I am pretty short!) so I used paper plates until I could pick up a cheap plate lol. I think most folks would love this place, just know it may not be suitable for an old short person LOL!
Very dirty cabin had to clean upon arrival. Cleaned Refrigerator, stove, floor removed cobwebs etc. Overall poor maintenance of cabin both inside & out. If guests are expected to clean it when they arrive it should noted in the VRBO posting. Also should provide a leaf blower for guests to blow off the deck. Decks covered in pine needles. Sliding glass door you can’t use since the bottom is rotted & has an hole in the bottom of door covered with rag. Screened porch has tarp over & filthy.Overpriced rental for the unclean neglected accommodations! Won’t be back!
I came for my goddaughter‘s confirmation. She’s 14. And her younger sister is almost 13. I don’t see them very often. And it was not a good time to be staying with their family. So, I rented this property and it was perfect. It was peaceful, quiet, and for the little bit of time we spent there. It was absolutely perfect. The host was wonderfully accommodating. I had family over Sunday afternoon for a gathering to celebrate confirmation and they were fine with that
I would love to come back when it would be much more relaxing stay. And I could actually spend some time sitting and listening to the birds and watching the river. Absolutely love the place.
