What a peaceful place!
My stay on Drayton Island was beautiful. This bungalow was well-appointed, very clean and had everything I needed for a getaway to recharge. The peace and quiet is unmatched, and the hosts are gracious and inviting. If you are looking for a break from rush and hurry, from sound and light pollution, you'll find it here. It's an easy ferry ride from Georgetown, but I recommend asking the hosts to provide a water taxi. Highly recommended!

I are up in Orlando, Florida and went to University of Florida in Gainesville. It has been a life long dream to live on the St. John's River so close to Silver Glen Springs! I love cooking, taking care of my garden and farm animals and sharing the beauty of this magical place with others.

Why they chose this property

Drayton Island is a private island that has a very important place in Florida history and that of the southeastern United States. It is part of the Bartram Trail, discovered on an expedition commission by King George to explore the area. It was also a popular destination by northerners before the train, as they would come down by steam ship and be dropped off on a platform right in front of our house! Then there is the nature, the wild life. Drayton Island is probably one of the most pristine, safest natural adventures you will find in the state.

What makes this property unique

Our home was built in the late 1890's and is a Gustav Stickley design. All in original condition with modern amenities added for convenience but never taking away from the original beauty. The home faces south east and the spectacular and awe inspiring view of Lake George. Come experience some of the most spectacular sunrises you have ever seen.
