Welcome! Tom and Julie got married in Pasadena in 1991 after meeting at a Rose Queen community volunteer event. Our family comes from Indianapolis, Indiana ( Purdue pharmacy school ) and the SF Bay Area ( Cal Berkeley and Stanford ) and we have lived in 3 sq mile village of Sierra Madre for more than 26 years, served on Sierra Madre Rotary as presidents, and are active with our community library, St Rita's church, and the Sierra Madre Playhouse. We raised two daughters here and enjoy our Friday night supper club and guests visiting from all over the USA and overseas.

We have made many friends over the years and have produced live concerts on the front lawn for special events with with our dear friends and jazz artists and classical musicians from David Benoit, 2X GRAMMY Artist Paul Brown, Roberto Vally, Connie Washburn, Ross Jutsum, Cheryl Barnes and Phil Cabasso over the years.

If you would like to perform on a Yamaha grand piano, please let us know in advance. We are always happy to meet serious musicians and have hosted the annual Dan Stover Rotary music competition here.

Why they chose this property

The majestic mountains, fresh air, morning fog and assorted trees create a dramatic, ever-changing panoramic view. One can enjoy the Mt. Wilson trail by walking to the top of Moutain Trail and starting on the Mt WIlson trail head which is why Sierra Madre was considered a vacation area at the turn of the century and serviced by the old electric red car line from downtown Los Angeles since 1905. Visitors to Sierra Madre wanted to get away from the busy city life and come enjoy the fresh mountain air, peaceful moments and abundant nature. Once in a while, we will ever hear about a brown bear sighting.

What makes this property unique

We have complete privacy and enjoy the quiet of our verdant landscaping and quiet cul-de-sac. The remodeled cottage was built in honor of Julie's sister Janeen. We fondly refer to this special space as Janeen's cottage who designed this entire space on her iPad and even selected the materials and color scheme.
