The space
This bright contemporary home is in the perfect central location to downtown of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Explore and enjoy the vibrant and colorful life of towns, nature trails, beaches and peace of indoors.

Two bedroom raised ranch with plenty of deck space at the end of a wooded cul-de-sac. Landscaped property located 2 miles (8 minutes) from the downtown of Vineyard Haven, 5 miles (14 minutes) from the downtown of Oak Bluffs, 6 miles (14 minutes) from the downtown of Edgartown.

Other great destinations: Lagoon Pond and nature trails with Bike Path (2 mile/ 8 minutes), State Beach in Oak Bluffs (5 miles/ 14 minutes), Katama South Beach in Edgartown (9 miles/ 19 minutes), and local YMCA health and wellness club (http://www.ymcamv.org/) is only 1.6 miles (5 minutes) away. This central location is very convenient to all down island towns, and the Martha's Vineyard Airport, as well as the popular island beaches, and restaurants.

House has sleeping arrangements for 4 people, plus sleeper sofa in the living room.

Wonderful porch facing south offers peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Gas grill and furniture included.

Master and second bedroom have both queen size beds.

There is one security camera above the main entrance door of the rental unit. It is always on at the day of check-in to guarantee the best possible communication/navigation.

Great night sleep

Jan was very friendly, greeted us when we arrived. Lovely quite location and very comfortable beds. We only stayed one night due to other plans, was very quite and restful.

No shops nearby it's in a lovely wooded area but Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs is not far away and the place is so central. It wasn't a problem. For your first night buy ahead. The host was very friendly and the place super clean. My only small comment would be that I could have done with more lighting in the main bedroom and also a mirror in the bedroom. Otherwise everything we needed was provided.A very enjoyable stay.

Listed as a 2 bathroom but was a 1 bathroom with an outdoor shower. Also the outdoors needed to be cleaned up - it was over grown and weedy. The inside of the place and the neighborhood was nice.

A perfect home base!

We enjoyed our stay at Jan's place in Oak Bluffs immensely. It was in the perfect location, equidistant to Vineyard Haven, OB, and Edgartown. The beds were super comfortable and there was good enough space for a single family of 4. Laundry facilities made it super easy to stay on top of beach towels, etc. We had a small problem with the towels provided but Jan quickly responded with new towels. Of note, the property has a split a/c in the living room and fans in the remaining spaces. The bedrooms are not "air conditioned" specifically, but there is excellent air circulation and everyone in our party was comfortable with fans, if needed. We felt very welcomed by the Host and would stay here again.

Peaceful Experience

The place was clean , organized, and had a healing presence. I took advantage of Jan's healing hands work and it enhanced my stay. Listen to him, when he recommends that you should have a car. The bus does come up often, but if you are from the suburbs and are not used to busing that could be an interesting adventure. Overall, I would stay again. It is close to everything but you still get your relaxing time..

golf getaway

The house was a great landing spot for a weekend when we didn't plan on spending too much time in our rental. The location is super central and convenient to everything and the host was super responsive during our entire stay. Our primary complaint is that the bathroom of the unit was run down and in need of necessary updates and replacements, as was some of the furniture throughout. The unit also lacked towels and pillows.

Dear Katherine, Thank you for your review that will help me to address the issue of communication. Most of the time it goes down to communication. I wish I would learn about your concerns sooner then now. To assure a pleasant and comfortable stay, I always contact my guests three times (right after booking, few days before their arrival and then the first day of their stay) with instructions and encouragement to contact me with any questions, or concerns. I reached out to you the same way, but only received you response, that "All is great!" If you would only let me know about your concerns, I would easily navigate you to the cabinets @ the house, where you could find more towels and pillows…there are plenty of those easily accessible in the house. I would also appreciate if you would share more with me about the bathroom and furniture, since you are the very first person to mention anything about this after the whole house was repainted and remodeled. Perfect location for a low key stay

This apartment is gorgeous. The open plan, living, dining room, and kitchen are lined with sun-drenched windows. The place is incredibly comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are fully outfitted with great attention to detail - you will need nothing. There are two bedrooms, with one queen sized bed in each. The mattresses are firm (I loved it but if you don't like firm be aware of it!). The sofa is big enough to accommodate a sleeper also if needed. The heating system worked well, took us a few minutes to figure it out. It is a little confusing that there is a gorgeous wood stove in the living room but you cannot use it - we didn't need it for heat though. We were there in November, so we did not use the deck or outside. It looked nice though with a grill available for your use. The location is just off the town border with Vineyard Haven/Tisbury, in an unpaved development so it is not really, walkable for getting into town etc. having a car available is needed if you plan on touring a lot. There is a driveway for you to park in. This is not a rental for having parties etc. - it is a quiet neighborhood with your landlord living below you - so set your expectations. It exceeded ours and we hope to return again soon.

perfect last minute vacation

We decided late in the high season to book a trip in state. We found Jan's place to be the perfect retreat for our getaway. We brought a family of 5 for our first Martha's Vineyard vacation, and had the best time. The rental was well equipped and clean. Jan was very accomodating. We had everything we needed, and it was an excellent location in our opinion. It was a short drive to Edgartown and a stone's throw from Vineyard Haven center. Thank you, Jan!
