Thanks for a great stay. The guest house was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The country setting made for wonderful weekend stay and the highlight was being met by your friendly pups!
Great place stay, host and animals were all very accommodating, good location to accessing different sections of the root river bike trail. Will be back.
I had a very relaxing week at this beautiful little farm. It is close to everything I wanted to do: Lanesboro and the theater, excellent restaurants, Amish home shops. And then I could come back to relaxing on the patio and watching the sun set!
Very fun rustic but new mini farmhouse with Amish furnishings and lovely quilts. Thoughtfully Very well stocked! Wood stove for winter and reliable wifi. Friendly very responsive hosts. Thank you Andrea and Sheldon. can’t wait to return
The property was a charming bunkhouse on a small farm. It was immaculately clean and so cleverly decorated for the Amish area without going overboard. The owners take care of rescue animals. We enjoyed interacting with the animals and the owners. The rental was a short drive to small towns that were fun to explore. A very relaxing long weekend in the beautiful countryside of the bluff country.
We have stayed in our share of places but this was the best! We loved the farm animals roaming around the property. No smell, just delightful to watch and interact with. The host couple were extremely kind and helpful! Even built us a fire to roast hotdogs! We biked the beautiful Root River trail, played golf, went to a fantastic play, and tubed down the river as well ! We will definitely go back!
This bunk house is lovely and was very clean. Nicely equipped. Check-in was seamless. Easy in and out. Very quiet and enjoyable farm setting. The location was out of town a ways which we had not expected, but we did not check that as closely as we could have. The only less desirable aspect was that the beds (3) were in the loft which had a very low ceiling. One must walk stooped over to get to the beds. More than once we bumped our heads on the ceiling. There was one queen bed and two twin beds. The queen bed was comfortable. The bedding was nice and more than adequate.
This quaint little retreat is exactly as pictured! Andrea and Sheldon are wonderful hosts and thought of everything you didn't know you needed for your stay - including board games, an umbrella and even a blanket on the outdoor couch for chilly nights while using the fire pit - which they also provided the fire wood. The place was very clean. We enjoyed all the animals as well. We highly recommend the Country School Guesthouse for your next stay in the Lanesboro area.
What a great place, everything was perfect and Sheldon and Andrea were very nice and lovely hosts.Beyond charming, their guest house is so comfortable. We slept great, and there’s ample room in the kitchen to make meals. The location is wonderful and so quiet and meeting Kadi, Molly and the rescue animals was a treat.Highly recommended and we hope to come back!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Country School Guest House! Andrea and Sheldon were warm and welcoming! We truly enjoyed our visits in the yard. We loved hearing about the house and rescue animals. Kadi and Molly (the host’s rescue dogs) were happy to visit with us each morning and evening after our biking adventures! We look forward to our next visit!
We loved everything about our stay here. My sister and I grew up in rural Iowa as kids and have been city people for many years now. We wanted a rural experience. The country side was beautiful. The quest house was wonderful. An Amish neighbor had finished the interior, and it could not have been more charming or functional. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the back patio and the rescue animals they keep. Sheldon and Andera were so friendly and accommodating, but yet respected our privacy.
Couldn't have been nicer! Andrea were perfect hosts and the rental was decorated beautifully! We went there to bike but rental was so comfortable it was hard to leave. Definitely would like to return!
The cottage is a cozy quiet place in the country tucked in Amish country. The cottage well stocked and nicely decorated. The ceiling in the loft is very low, but otherwise a great stay.
