Key Words: Villa Petite Chapelle is an exquisite home located in one of the PREMIER beautiful villages in France, Saint - Cirq - Lapopie. Its name comes from the tiny chapel with the cross next to the house.
Bienvenue: Villa Petite Chapelle will provide you with the perfect base from which to discover the stunning village of Saint - Cirq - Lapopie and the many attractions of the Lot.
The house is well appointed and has everything you will need with the emphasis on comfort and quality. The house is artistically decorated with antiques and original artworks.
The breathtaking view of the Lot River from the terrace is arguably the best in the village.
Location: The medieval village of Saint - Cirq - Lapopie stands high above the Lot perched on an outcrop of rock. The house is located at the entrance of the village. A 100 metre walk will take you to its centre. Here you can walk the cobble streets, explore artists' galleries, enjoy the food and wine specialties of the region at a cafe or restaurant or climb to the top of the outcrop for a panoramic view of the Lot Valley. However you choose to enjoy the village make sure you take the time to soak up the atmosphere of this postcard village with its outstanding architecture.
There is much to see and do in the nearby villages and towns.
Shop at bustling fresh produce markets ( a foodie's heaven), seek out a bargain at the Brocante or Vide Grenier
(empty the attic market) and visit Chateau de Cenevieres and the historic caves of Pech Merle. Enjoy walking, hiking and bike riding in this picturesque region. The Lot River is an ideal place to swim, kayak or canoe.
The Lot Valley is less well-known than its famous relative the Loire. It is peaceful and the perfect place to reflect, relax and recharge. If you are in need of rejuvenation the incredible landscape will nourish your spirit.
Highlights of Villa Petite Chapelle: The huge rebuild after the fire at the end of 2014 means our home now has all modern comforts but continues to have stunning, French country charm. Our home now has insulated walls and reverse cycle airconditioning resulting in a very comfortable home on the hottest or coldest days of the year. Where previously the toilet was part of an open bathroom, it is now separate. The kitchen with its new country stove, numerous sliding drawers and island bench top will delight you with its high quality appliances including Global knives and a Nespresso coffee machine. When you first open the terrace door, the stained oak timber floor and antique furniture including an authentic French, antique, day bed will create a wonderful impression.
The bedroom downstairs and the adjoining bathroom are an inviting sanctuary for relaxation. There is an antique bedhead and the bed is dresssed with beautiful, antique, linen sheets. The bathroom has a hundred year old cast iron, claw foot bath and a separate shower. Where previously the toilet was part of an open bathroom, it is now separate.
Sitting on the terrace with its magnificent view while sipping your coffee or glass of local wine will become a favourite past time. Take the steps to the next level and admire the view again.

About the host
Hosted by Sharon Gomis

My husband Pierre and I live in Perth, Western Australia. Pierre was born in France and although having travelled extensively throughout Europe we alway return to France. We love everything it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
In 2010 while flicking through a magazine in a doctor's waiting room I came across an article describing the beauty of the village of St - Cirq - La Popie and the surrounding Lot region. We had planned to holiday in France during the year but had not decided on our itinerary. Pierre and I knew little about this relatively undiscovered part of France. The description of the village and the Lot Valley made it easy for us to choose this destination for our holiday.
On arrival in St Cirq we were not disappointed.
On the afternoon of our arrival while wondering through the French Postcard streets I saw someone from Perth I had taught with at a local school but not seen for over twenty years. This ex -colleague was renting their holiday accommodation from a person who had a house for sale in the village. The rest is history. We fell in love with the house and the village.
Buying a house in France had not been part of our holiday plans!

After a long day of hiking, exhausting shopping ( only because you are wondering how you will ever fit everything you have purchased into your case ) or touring a chateau, relax and soak in the antique, cast iron claw foot bath.
