MarshMellow! Corolla Beach House with Unbelievable Sunsets

Updated beach house with remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, free EV charging station, and new HVAC for 2025 that will be perfect for your family vacation. It's the perfect place to call home for your stay, half a mile to the community pool, .7 mile to the Bonito beach access with public parking. There are great deck views of the sound with privacy for sunbathing and relaxing, a private yard on double lot, and ample amenities within the community for the entire family. Amenities include tennis, fitness center, pool, playground, boat/kayak launch, basketball, and a multi purpose bike path. Families can crab and fish from the piers or rent kayaks, paddleboards, or jet skis from local companies. We're a short distance to dining, shopping and attractions such as Currituck Lighthouse, Whalehead Park, Wildlife Center, Boat Museum, Corolla Village, Tim Buck II, 4x4 beach, Corolla Wild Horses, maritime forest hiking trail.

The property offers 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom is located in the top floor and has a king bed with an en suite. A second master bedroom is located on the mid level with a king bed and en suite. A bunk room/ office with twin beds shares a bathroom with the other queen bedroom on the mid level. There is a media room with TV, two chairs, an exercise bike and hand weights located on the bottom level. The laundry room is also on the bottom level with washer, dryer, and ironing board.

The house is 3 levels with lots of stairs and no elevator.

Linens and towels are provided for your stay but please bring your own beach towels. A starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap will be enough to get you started for your stay but you may need to purchase more. There is a well stocked kitchen to prepare your meals with plenty of room for your family to enjoy a leisurely meal together.

The house is on a double lot with a large grassy area and surrounding privacy ring of pines. The property is located across from the Marsh Landing Pier entrance to the Currituck Sound. Enjoy the amazing sunsets and sparkling starry nights from the top deck or relax in the privacy and southern beach charm of the middle deck.

Great vacation home. Clean home with well equipped kitchen. We had a small problem with ants in the bedrooms. It was fine after using bug spray provided by the owner. Good location to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and 4x4 beach.

Great spot for a big family

The layout of the house was fantastic and the stairs didn’t bother us at all. Temperature was cool and humidity free. Kitchen was spacious and clean with plenty of dishes for our family. The porches were lovely and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed the book of suggestions left by the hosts! Thank you Kathy!

Pleasant neighborhood and lovely home.

The house was clean and comfy and in a great location. Close to the beach and stores both. The only negative was the top floor where the family room was required an additional in-room A/C unit to keep it cool and it was quite loud. Other than that, a great beach house.

Negatives: Towels.The bath towels were so small that they wouldn’t wrap around your body. Too many rules with threats of extra charges. The beach chairs were a joke..10 am check out. Positives: Your able to rent for less than a week. A nice clean house in a convenient location If you bring your own towels and beach chairs it would make for a better stay

Beautiful Sunsets!

We would stay here again. Marsh Mellow is a lovely property with updated interior and decks. We thoroughly enjoyed the long dock on the sound which is very close to the house. The Bonito beach access is a short drive across Ocean Trail (12) with parking. We did not use the community pool or clubhouse which was a bit of a walk or drive - we would have but were only there 4 days. The beds are comfortable and the open plan upper level is nice for families. During a heat wave (we were there in 100 degree weather) the supplemental a/c unit that was provided for the upper floor was a must though, fair warning, it was a bit loud. The lower levels on a separate zone always remained cool. Overall I would recommend this house.

This was the absolute worst Vrbo rental I have ever experienced. The home owners control the heat and air from their home. You are not allowed to go under 74 degrees! They have a portable air unit hooked to a windowsill that is as loud as an airplane.. There is a dehumidifier that you must run that puts out heat and requires you to dump the water every few hours or the unit berps. The toilets hardly flush and run all night long. The very small television is a joke, due to all the noise of above units they have asound bar attached. It has one level only. The wifi is also very spotty. We tried to reset it but all the cabinets and closets are locked up for owner privacy. I did reach out to the owner Kathy who basically told me to deal with it and if i was unhappy tell the management company. JuDid i mention the pool is no whete close to this property and you must drive to the beach and pool . The photos are deceiving at the least. They have ring cameras watching you come and go....cheap products and they didn’t even mow the lawn before our arrival. Just save yourself the nightmare and stay somewhere else. PHOTOS ATTACHED

Corolla is a close-knit community with friendly people who value the unique environment of the barrier islands. The village is steeped in interesting history and many residents have family connections to the historical figures. Monteray Shores is a family friendly neighborhood with a large proportion of permanent residents that help keep both the neighborhood and larger Corolla community thriving through business and volunteer activities. The nights are quiet, but the days are filled with sun, sand, sports, and friends.

Marsh Mellow is centrally located in the Northern beach area of the Outer Banks if you are looking for beaches, attractions, shopping, restaurants, or activities. The Monteray Shores community offers resort amenities available to our guests including a large community pool, four tennis courts, pickle ball, two piers, children's playground, basketball, and biking. When you are ready to relax and wind-down, come home to the privacy of our spacious decks sheltered by the pines, enjoy the sunset over Currituck Sound, play under the fruit trees in the large backyard, or throw some shrimp on the BBQ and just chill.
