A group of 14 friends and a dog stayed here for 4 nights and we had a blast. There was plenty of space for all of us to be able to hangout. Really nice back deck that we did not spend much time at because of the weather and a big backyard for my dog to have a good time. Would recommend for large parties.
I was looking for a large house for Thanksgiving week to enjoy time with friends and family. During our stay we visited Woodstock, walked the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, saw the Saugerties lighthouse, hiked some trails, including the beautiful Kaaterskill Falls, and really enjoyed hanging out each evening with our large group. The huge kitchen was well stocked with all of the equipment we needed. The long table in the dining room was perfect for our Thanksgiving dinner. Vasili was very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. And on our last day, before flying home to Florida, we got to see snow!
We had so much fun at the house. The pool was amazing, the yard was fantastic, the town was adorable, and there were plenty of beds to sleep in! We loved having all of the family under one roof and the kitchen and dining room was a great space to gather! Highly recommend staying here!!!
It was the second time we stayed at this house for a Christmas holiday celebration. The location of the house is very close to the skiing area, and it’s totally private. We had the most fun and memorable time together at the house. We will definitely be back next time.
Great house for 3-4 families. Lots of space and beds. Nice bathroom layout was very convenient. Kitchen and Dining room made for great dinners. Owner was very responsive. Skiied 3 days at Hunter and would recommend.
We had a group of 11 staying here over Labor Day weekend. The house is great for large groups (eg very practical bathroom setup, large kitchen). And, of course, having a private pool was amazing!! This is definitely a big, old house, so be aware of everything that entails.
The house offered plentiful space for multiple families and we loved that it was pet friendly. We were there on a particularly cold weekend and as it is a very old home, the first floor was very drafty and chilly. The second and third floors were warm. The house is located close to Hunter and Windham so we easily visited both mountains for skiing and tubing in one weekend.
Vasili was very responsive and answered any questions we had immediately.
I had a group of 13 and due to the corona outbreak we went down to 9. I asked the owner if there was a good shortage because due to this we were thinking of cancelling. He said the market had food and we could not cancel we would loose the money. 9 of us made. 4 hour drive up to this house that looks a nothing like the pics advertised it was run down filthy plumbing issues. I contacted the owner. We left on Saturday insteD if sundY. Guests did not even want to shower or sleep in the beds. It was terrible. I contacted the owner last night with pictures of his home and requested a refund. He accused me of trying to make excuses to get my money back. He said I was harassing him. I have pictures and videos of the filth in this house. I tried to make the best of it and told him this but each room we went in something else was wrong. I have been renting thru VRBO for years and never had a problem but I don’t appreciate being accused of harassment from one of your clients. I am prepared to take legal action on this matter.

Nice property, but a bit "rustic"
My group had some very different opinions about the house - some loved it, some not so much. The property is great with a nice large backyard and it's just off the main road between the centers of Hunter and Tannersville. The house is large - three bedrooms on the third floor with a bathroom with shower, four on the second floor with a double bathroom (two sinks, two toilets, one shower, one bathtub in separate rooms). It was a very good size for our group. The (unheated) pool is also a nice size and fenced in.
Other comments ... washer/dryer were great, kitchen was great with good appliance and two refrigerators (very clean), and air conditioning units in every room. There's a large library of books (probably left from the previous owner), and the satellite TV was good. The new grill was excellent.
Now for the 'not so good' - I'll preface by saying I've been spoiled by a series of prior house rentals on websites like this where the homes were immaculate. This one was lacking in that area, which would be fine except for the price. It was more like summer camp - e.g. the showers were in various states of being functional and the bathtub tilts depending where you stand in it. The house is kind of tilted making foosball (the only table game in the game room, which was missing a handle or two) kind of interesting.
Then there were the "little issues". There isn't a garbage can or towel rack to be found. We had do a lot of cleaning ourselves - there was broken glass in the pool from a beer bottle and other beer bottles and garbage near the edge of the property including some pipes and an old fire escape. There's a bear problem and the trashcans weren't bear proof, so our trash had to be kept indoors (the property manager did come and clean the outside garbage). Then there was the dining room table which we needed to extend - only it was very difficult to do so because it was stuck together by dried maple syrup and then we had to clean it up once we did get it open. One of the mattresses was supported by cardboard. The internet barely worked - it's an old DSL router but may be all that's available there. We ended up setting up our own wireless hotspot with a cellular connection which worked beautifully.
If you're looking for a 7 bedroom house with pool in the Hunter/Tannersville area, it does the job beautifully. The house was good, but a few thousand dollars of work put into this house would go a long way.
The house was very spacious and accommodated our 3 family group perfectly. The location couldn’t be better if you’re planning on skiing at Hunter. The property manager, Vasili, was very attentive and easy to communicate with.
This house is big enough to fit our large group. Especially the kitchen is huge and stocked up with all the cooking equipments. Also, the location is great and is very close to Hunter mountain. The property manager Vasili was very nice to communicate with all the questions. Overall, we enjoyed staying in the house.
Pool is awesome once heating works, some back and forth to turn it on the heat but once it’s on no complain.
Plenty of space inside the house for everyone.
Some small issue come up but property manager quickly fixed it.
His response to all questions were promptly and very helpful.
Great experience at hunter Mountain. I came with a group of 12 to getaway from the city for a few days. The checkin process was seamless and the host even dropped off some pound cake from a local bakery as a welcome gift. Plenty of beds, clean and huge outdoor space and pool. Perfect for bbq and backyard games. Would highly recommend. The house is bigger than I expected and made for a great weekend.
This house was perfect for a large group that is looking to vacation with each other. Our weekend was mostly raining, so 17 people needed to stay in doors together for three days straight. There were enough rooms to set up a board games room, a movie screening room and still cook and socialize in the kitchen. It never once felt too crowded.
Advice, bring hand towels as well as regular towels.
It really is a perfect place for a large group. The property manger is helpful, responsive and really nice. The house is in great condition. Would highly recommend.
This was a great location for 16 of us who wanted to get a nice escape from the City. It's close to Katerskills falls, which has one of the most amazing fall foliage views with the waterfall. It a spacious house and great backyard. We enjoyed our time and the ability to be all together in one big house!
