Great value, location and host!

The room and bathroom are lovely and the location is ideal! Walking distance to the majority of Toronto's offerings. Dana was awesome and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Definitely would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again.

Jenny and Frank, it was such a pleasure to host you as well! We love sharing our lovely Grand Victorian home (140 years old) full of original features and character with our guests. It's great to be walking distance to everything, and still in a residential area where one can enjoy a peace and quiet time. We are a short walk (2min) to this lovely and free Botanical Conservatory and 15 min walking to the historic Distillery District, where shopping for shoes and art can go together.

I am very happy that your stay was so great! Setting and managing expectations are the keys to a successful stay. We pride ourselves for cleanliness, comfort and attention to details and I am happy that our efforts get noticed. We feel fortunate to live Downtown, in a residential area, with mature trees that protects us from the city noise. We are walking distance (2-3 min) to top restaurants, major attractions, pubs, fancy shops and ethnic eateries. Every day feels like a holiday! Parks and trails are also minutes away. Bike rentals are located on our street and have stations all over the city if this is your type of adventure.

Lovely Victorian in Cabbagetown

Dana was very accomadating and helpful with suggestions as to where to eat or what not to miss. Our room was cozy with the most comfortable bed, great shower. Lovely quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of restaurants and Toronto's Distillery District, New Marketplace, and downtown.

Dear Mary and Mark: Thank you very much for your kind words. We are happy to know that your short stay here was that great. It is very easy to host guests like you, friendly and respectful. You are welcome back anytime. We love living in this Downtown neighborhood, called Cabbagetown, so close to the best Toronto has to offer. As you have seen it is a very diverse neighborhood where walking under the canopy of the old trees one can forget about the noise of the modern city. You can immerse yourself in the past looking at the old Victorian houses and yet walk to shops and modern or ethnic restaurants. Happy travels!

Great spot!

We had a great stay. The room is immaculate and lovely with a great bed and lots of closet space. The bathroom is spacious and well equipped. We could not believe how quiet the bedroom was, given the great central location of the house. Dana did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing stay, location, and host

We stayed here from 7/10 to 7/12 and had an absolutely amazing time. The house is beautiful and very well kept and in a great location. Everything was walking distance and perfectly situated in Cabbagetown. Dana and her family were very kind and accommodating and answered any questions we had pertaining to the city, even offering advice on what to do during the day and night. She made us dinner on our last night which was incredibly sweet of her as well as delicious. I will not stay anywhere else on my trips to Toronto. Thank you so much, Dana!!
Response from VrboOwner on 22 Mar 2020
Dear Christina: I am very happy to hear that you had a great stay at our heritage home. Looking forward to host you in the future, as you are 5 stars guests! As you mentioned, we are located within walking distance to all what Toronto downtown has to offer (Eaton Centre, Dundas Square, St Lawrence Market, CN Tower, Flatiron building, Distillery District, Sugar Beach, St Michael Cathedral, theaters, shops and restaurants, hospitals etc). Our guests are using a car just for trips outside the city (Niagara Falls, Blue Mountain, Canada Wonderland etc). This summer Toronto is on fire with the free PanAm concerts and fireworks. Hope you get a chance to be back and enjoy it.

Lovely Home away from Home

I really loved staying here. I came to Toronto for work and needed a place to stay. I chose this place due to its looks, but it was so much more than that. I truly felt like I was coming home every night. The hosts made me feel comfortable and safe. They were kind and attentive without overstepping and I felt extremely welcome. I was sad to leave! Thank you Dana! I had an amazing time. Clean apartment, caring owners, nice area, close to public transit and lots of eating and shopping. Highly recommend!

Many thanks for your kind words and recommendation. We are a quiet professional couple and our home is a reflection of our personalities and love for art and interior design. Safety and cleanliness are top priority for us. Living Downtown we are close to all the amenities you mentioned above, but tuck in on a nice street with mature trees and Victorian homes, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolitan city.

Well located rooms, clean and quiet

We really enjoyed our staying there. Dana made us welcome, always willing to help with great advises around the city (e.g. Restaurants, Hot spots etc) and very prompt/accurate in Communication. As stated the house is in walking distance to downtown, no need to move the car. The rooms were clean, high Standard and also good to know; very quiet. We also could partly use the kitchen and other spaces in the house. Only remark: these two rooms are not in a stand alone /separated apartment what we actually have expected after screening the description. But overall fully recommendable place with a lovely Dana&family, always again!
Response from VrboOwner on 22 Mar 2020
Thank you for your kind words Oliver! We are glad that you appreciated the quietness and cleanliness we offer with pride here in our home. I checked again the description and I am not sure how the translation was on the German website, however it is very well described as a luxury room with private bathroom on the second floor of a Victorian home. We are very well located in the residential area of Downtown, minutes to Yonge and Dundas Square (10 min), Distillery District (15 min), St Lawrence Market (18 min)etc.

Wonderful B&B

This place is awesome. So much care has been given to renovating a Victorian house, tastefully putting it into the 21st century. A quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of downtown. Great room in Cabbage Town area

The accommodations consist of a bedroom and bath with a short hallway behind a locking door inside a lovely two story brick townhouse. The bath is gorgeous and everything in the home is beautifully decorated. The home is within a 30 minute walk of downtown Toronto and many attractions. We also used the hop-on, hop-off bus to get around to various sights. Dana is a gracious host and very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay here and recommend it to other travelers.

We stayed in Dana's lovely home for 3 nights. The room is quiet and clean with everything one needs. Memorable stay in the Beautiful Heritage Home

We had the pleasure of visiting Ontario staying in a hotel in Brampton for the first six days of our vacation before spending the remaining time in Toronto. The Hotel was wonderful, however the experience of staying in the lovely heritage home in downtown was one we will never forget. Although this was a first time staying in a VRBO for my partner once settled into our luxury room he was very comfortable. The room was very clean & quiet with the elegance of the clawfoot tub and large shower. The Hostess was very friendly as was her spouse, the coffee was wonderful. The home was well loved and taken care of by the owners. Dana was very helpful, with recommendations of sites to visit, local restaurants and a must see of Tim Horton's in an old heritage home. The property is conveniently located where we could walk everywhere. Would definitely recommend this property to other travellers. We met as Strangers and left as Friends. Wonderful experience

This was a lovely place to stay. Everything was accurate in the description and the house is extremely well cared for, which was always evident. Dana is an amazing host, friendly and interesting to talk to-- she seems to love what she is doing and it shows. We had a very short stay, but did have a couple of meals close by-- one at a breakfast place called Chew Chews-- the portion sizes were enormous and it was made fresh. The other one in the neighbourhood was the Local Gest, also recommended. Wish we'd had more time to explore, as I can't think of anything bad to say about the place.
Response from VrboOwner on 22 Mar 2020
Many Thanks Lisa! It was very easy to host great guests like you. Our street was busy today with another movie filming, called Ransom (a drama series). You should watch it next year on CBC to remember the lovely Grand Victorian Home you stayed at. A great selection of eateries and restaurants are 2-10 min walking. I always like to share with my guests my local knowledge of the area.

Toronto Getaway

We really enjoyed our getaway to Toronto. Dana was a wonderful host supplying us with a lot of recommendations for what to see and restaurants and wineries to visit. Her home is beautiful and the room and bathroom were nicely decorated and comfortable. We spent one of our days at Niagara on the Lake and visited the falls. Highly recommend a day trip to the wine region there if you have time. The only downside to our stay was some of the surrounding neighborhood is a bit unpleasant to walk through.
Response from VrboOwner on 22 Mar 2020

For that reason, on the streets there are people from every walk of life mingle peacefully with top professionals that own these beautiful and expensive homes. My stretch of street is owned by retired judge, lawyers, architects, doctors, movie directors and engineers like us and was compared with Lower Manhattan of NYC.
