Just a few minutes drive from the lake, this charming log cabin is nestled on a private 3.2 acre wooded ridge (paved road) overlooking the beautiful mountains of Hickory Nut Gorge. This is the perfect getaway for those looking for a serene and natural atmosphere, while still only minutes from the beautiful resort town of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.

The cabin offers two bedrooms and two full baths with a futon and full bed on the lower level game room for additional sleeping. You will enjoy beautiful mountain views from the spacious wrap-around decks with gas grill, hammock, and rocking chairs. The full kitchen has everything you need for a romantic dinner for two or a family feast. The living room has a 32' television with satellite programming, DVD library, Wi-Fi Internet connection and a cozy gas fireplace. Free long distance calls in The U.S.

After a busy day of sight-seeing, relax in the game room with Foosball, darts, a second TV/DVD player, board games & stereo.

The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils as well as a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. On pleasant afternoons you may choose to cook on the gas grill on the deck. You can enjoy your meal on the deck or at the oak dining table overlooking the deck through sliding doors.

The basement game room provides fun for all ages with a competition grade foosball table, darts and beautiful log bar. You can also step out on the lower deck and enjoy the views. This room also contains a futon and full bed for additional sleeping.

Exceeded Expectations

The cabin exceeded our expectations. The owner goes above and beyond what is in the listing. Check-in process was seamless and simple. The cabin was in great shape and extremely roomy (more cabin than we needed.) All standard amenities were included, but the owner had "extras" there also (coffee, tea, condiments, small flashlight accessible in every room) We will be staying again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others. The only negative I can think of is that the fenced yard is kind of a steep slope and our short legged dogs , bassett hound and beagle, had trouble maneuvering the yard. Not really a big deal, we just walked them through the neighborhood instead. The dogs really enjoyed the fully enclosed deck and the freedom to run around outside. Cabin is located pretty much within 15 minutes to everything (stores, restaurants, activities) Can't wait for our next visit.

Comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin and Lake Lure. Chimney Rock is definitely a must see. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There were a few minor repairs that could be taken care of such as the kitchen light switch but nothing that isn't due to just regular wear and tear. Wayne, Host, was very accommodating and Betty Jo, the housekeeper, was very helpful with a question I had. If we are ever in this area again I would rent this cabin.

Tree house in the NC Foothills

Silver Tree Cabin feels like staying in a spacious and airy treehouse -- lots of windows, vaulted ceilings, and is perched among trees that fall away down the hillside from the back deck leaving great views of the wooded foothills surrounding Lake Lure. The cabin is extremely well stocked with supplies and kitchen equipment, so less packing in of "stuff". Kudos to our host! The Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area is great for a quiet off-season personal retreat with lots of hiking trails, restaurants, and other amenities.
