Beautiful location, staffing concerns

We enjoyed our stay. However, there were a few hiccups along the way. We arrived at 5:45 and our door code did not work. I called the number listed in my email, one listed on the front door, plus texted the emergency number. It took 30 minutes to get a response. It was just a bit disconcerting to not have staff available, both to address typical needs or in case of an emergency. This also made us uncertain about overall security.

Each person we crossed paths with on staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. From Check in to restaurant staff to Cadence even giving us a beautiful decoration (that were willing to pay for) to remember such a wonderful anniversary trip. Food was delicious in the Bearrr Appitit Restaurant. Top notch customer service. The room was thoughtfully decorated, clean and cozy! Would highly recommend. We will be back!

Everything was great but I would suggest that when the lodge is full that you have better restaurant coverage. It took almost 2 hours to get breakfast on Friday and service was slow on Sunday. I would also suggest updating the info folder in each room as they are very outdated.

So glad we stayed at Lydia's!!

We came for a wedding and fell in love with the Lodge and Cabins! We occupied 4 rooms in the Lodge and a 3 bedroom cabin, this room was perfect for everyone to gather in the sitting room. The rehearsal dinner in the Event Hall was enjoyed by everyone, the staff did a fabulous job with setup and serving our sit down dinner. The guests not staying at the Lodge wished they were! p.s. The sunrise from our room was amazing every day we were here! Looking forward to coming back again soon! Kim & family from NJ

November getaway…

We met so many nice people during our stay, from the front desk staff to the dining room staff. We even were lucky to talk to the owners. The views are beautiful even though our stay was in late November. We will definitely be back . The Hollywood room exceeded our expectations.

Our stay in the Hollywood suite was amazing. We came up for the New Years Eve celebration and it was awsome. Want to put out a BIG thanks to Laura and all the other staff for your hard work. Perfect & Peaceful

Fantastic vacation experience! The most beautiful lodge in the most peaceful setting ever, made for a perfect family weekend. The uniquely themed rooms are so much fun, and the common areas are extremely comfortable to just relax in. What sets Lydia Mountain Lodge apart from other vacation spots is its impeccable service. Everyone on staff, in the restaurant, at the front desk, and especially the onsite manager (Joshua) were extremely friendly, and took extra care to make sure we had a perfect stay! Most highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

IM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE!❤️

This the most beautiful lodge! The view is breathtaking! My husband and I stayed in the Hollywood room and it was incredibly clean and so so beautiful! Every inch of the lodge just makes you want to stop and look around. The Bearrr Appetit has amazing food, drinks and the staff was top notch. Spending time with Jumper was such a special treat! I was sad to leave and am looking forward to our next visit.

Very disappointed in the hardness of the bed and humidity in the space made it very hard to get a good night’s sleep. Also more information needed for the Ruko applications on the television. Luckily we had access to our Netflix account or no quality television was accessible.

Memories

We so enjoyed our stay at Lydia Mountain. My mother was born and raised in the beautiful valley below the lodge. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony and picture her as a little girl playing in South River. Growing up, we would come back to visit my Grandmother and relatives and made the same memories. It’s nice to have a place to come since my loved ones have passed on. The lodge was very nice and close to Stanardsville. My husband and I most definitely will be back! Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Awesome!!!!!

Awesome! Fantastic! Wonderful! Everyone was so kind and thoughtful! We had an amazing New Years Dinner at their Restaurant and an incredible time at the New Years Party! Thanks to everyone at the Lodge, the Restaurant, Housekeeping and to whomever coordinated the lovely New Years Event. We had a Blast! And Lord willing….we will be back next year! Decent stay marred by loss of water

The lodge lost water on the evening we were there. No staff was found to provide information. No one answered the phone. This was a disappointing situation on an otherwise good experience.
