This historic Governor's home is large enough to sleep 16 guests at a time, and you'll love the large outdoor space. Featuring a sparkling swimming pool, poolside lounge, umbrella shades and BBQ area, you and crew will love soaking up the Texas sunshine out here! Located in Old West Austin, near the expansive Pease District Park, which has scenic trails, athletic courts, and ample green space in addition to hosting the wildly anticipated Eeyore’s Birthday Party event every year.

The Space:
This historical Old Enfield home, built in 1910, was carefully restored to its original state and formerly the home of Texas Governors Ma (Miriam) and Pa (James) Ferguson. It has 7 bedrooms, and 5.5 bathrooms, and is large enough to host 19 guests at a time. Each of the 3 King bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom, and all the bedrooms come with fresh linens and fluffy bath towels.

The spacious sundrenched patio features a private swimming pool, surrounded by comfy sun recliner chairs with umbrellas, outdoor dining tables and lounge seating. Enjoy a BBQ meal cooked right off the outdoor grill, or refresh with icy cool drinks while lounging in the Texas sunshine.

Inside, you'll find several lounge areas for socializing, a fully equipped kitchen, a large capacity dining area, and an in-house laundry area. There are 4 Smart TV's throughout the home for your entertainment, and complimentary high speed internet connection. Ample parking with room for 5 vehicles to park in the driveway, plus additional free street parking on Windsor Road.

The home is located at the north end of the Clarksville neighborhood in Old West Austin. Walking distance to the expansive Pease District Park with scenic trails, play areas, splash pad, athletic courts and lots of green space in addition to hosting the wildly anticipated Eeyore’s Birthday Party event every year. The low-key, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood is known for its modest bungalows and long-standing cafes and shops. Walkable to Fresh Plus grocery, Medici Coffee Roasters and other charming restaurants. Clarksville is bordered by a trendy commercial strip at 6th & Blanco known for top spots like Clark's and Howard's Night Club, as well as Treaty Oak, a state landmark. It's also walking distance from the Fresh Plus Grocery at West Lynn St.

The Neighborhood:
Situated about two miles northwest of Downtown Austin, Old West Austin is a predominantly residential neighborhood brimming with a diverse array of historic homes. Old West Austin offers plenty of great opportunities for outdoor recreation at its many neighborhood parks, including the expansive Pease District Park, which touts scenic trails, athletic courts, and ample green space in addition to hosting the wildly anticipated Eeyore’s Birthday Party event every year.

You can’t talk about shopping in Old West Austin without mentioning the legendary Waterloo Records. What began in the early 80s as a small, listen-before-you-buy music store has exploded into the internationally recognized definition of indie cool. A collector and music lover’s dream, this CD/record shop was rated one of the best in the world by Buzzfeed.

Seton Medical Center Austin lies in the northern portion of the neighborhood, adjacent to numerous restaurants, shops, and cafes along 35th Street. Many Old West Austin residents enjoy short commute times with close proximity to Downtown Austin, the University of Texas at Austin, multiple major medical centers, and the MoPac Expressway.

Getting Around:
The narrow residential streets of Old West Austin, cushioned between a major boulevard and a major highway, have survived since the days of carts and buggies. Many residents bike, since parking can be scarce. Hartford Road and Winsted Lane are very bike friendly, and Lamar Boulevard has dedicated bike lanes. The Capital MetroBus and University of Texas at Austin buses shuttle students to and from campus. Folks from out of town can take advantage of Uber drivers in the area.

The home is in Old West Austin in the city of Austin. Here you’ll find three shopping centers within 0.7 mile of the property. Five parks are within 2.9 miles, including Shoal Creek Greenbelt Park, Austin Nature and Science Center, and Zilker Nature Preserve.
