Thank you for your kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the location and found the house comfortable. The fireplaces are definitely one of our favorite features as well, especially after a day on the slopes. We’d love to host you again anytime you’re visiting the Okemo area. Safe travels and thanks again for staying with us!
Excellent communication. This is the second year that my group has stayed at this location. The house has everything you would expect and is close to skiing and snowmobiling. Highly recommend!!
A great, cozy cabin perfect for bringing a large group of friends together for a ski weekend. Lots of space to hang out, both upstairs and downstairs. Cabin is well maintained and clean. The hot tub was amazing to come back to after the slopes.
We were up for a weekend in February. Perfect place. Plenty of beds. The hot tub was a bonus. Excellent communication by the hosts.

“Hosting Tom and his guests was a pleasure. They were respectful, left our home in great shape, and we’d gladly welcome them back anytime. We’re happy they enjoyed their stay!”
Hosts were great. Perfect location for skiing. However some messages from the host were not immediately received during the stay since they were sent through the app rather than direct to phone/text. Once we were checked in, didn’t frequently open the app during the weekend. To check messages.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for the great feedback about our home and location — we ’re really glad you enjoyed your ski trip! We also appreciate your note about the messaging. We always want communication to be seamless, and going forward we’ll be sure to follow up through text as well so guests don’t miss any important information while they’re enjoying their stay.
Thanks again for being wonderful guests, and we’d be happy to host you anytime!
This house had an abundance of room for all of our guests with two livings rooms and two floors. Everything had a very cozy feel and with the hot tub steps away from the living room, you could dash right back into the warmth of the house. Would definitely stay here again and definitely got a lot for our money.

Thank you for your stay! You guys were a pleasure to host and we look forward to accommodating you again in the future.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy chalet! The 5 bedrooms and 2 living spaces allow for plenty of room for everyone. The location is convenient for skiing at okemo and close to everything in town. Communication with the owner was very good, especially when we had an issue with the hot tub. I highly recommend this home and am already looking forward to coming back! For large groups I might recommend bringing extra towels and for some reason the kitchen was short on bowls.

Thank you for the lovely review! I’m so glad you enjoyed the chalet and that everyone had plenty of room—those two living spaces really come in handy with bigger groups. The Okemo location is one of our favorite things about the house too, so I’m happy it worked well for you.
Thanks also for being so understanding with the hot tub issue. And I appreciate the heads-up about the towels and bowls; I’ll restock those right away.
It means a lot that you’re already looking forward to coming back. I’d be thrilled to host you again!
House was beautiful, cozy, and clean. We had an issue with the hot tub on the first night with it being cold, but they had someone come out the next morning to get it back running and we were able to use it the second night. House is in a great location. No complaints. Would stay here again.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re glad you enjoyed the house and found it cozy and clean. We appreciate your patience with the hot tub issue and are happy we were able to get it up and running for the rest of your stay. We’d love to host you again anytime!
This was a great location for a group of skiers. The house was very close to okemo mountain and loved being about to use the hot tub at night. The only recommendations we would have for the owners is to provide clearer instructions on how to use the hot tub, let the guests know if we need to provide extra amenities (i.e.- toilet paper, paper towels, etc), and more details around disposing the trash at the end of the trip (needing to use specific bags and to separate the garbage, etc). Otherwise, we had a great time!

Convenient location
The house is a very short drive from Ludlow, so getting to Okemo for downhill or cross country skiing was a easy. The dining table is nice and big, and could easily accommodate a dozen people.
Caution: the slope leading up to the house is a bit steep, so sanding/salting was required after pretty much every snowfall. The owners arranged the plow to go through shortly after the snow, though so that was nice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this review! I’m really glad to hear the location worked well for your skiing plans and that the large dining table was a good fit for your group.
Thanks also for mentioning the driveway slope—we appreciate the heads-up, especially during snowy stretches. We make sure to have the plow come through as quickly as possible and keep sand and salt on hand for guests, so I’m happy to hear that helped.
We hope you’ll stay with us again next time you’re in the area!
We had a great stay at this home with multiple bedrooms. We especially loved the separate living areas so kids could hang out downstairs while adults were upstairs. The hot tub was a huge hit as well. The amenities were pretty good, tho we could have used a few more towels (even tho we knew there were only 2 towels per bedroom). We also had trouble getting the gas grill to work, but we didn’t worry about it too much or contact the owner - we just cooked inside. Overall, owners were good communicators and clear with the description of the house. We were very comfortable there and look forward to coming back again soon.

The Weber Grill was just purchased last season so hopefully the issue with it is minor. We will address this asap. We will also have the cleaning service leave additional towels in each room from now on. Other then that we are pleased to say that the previous renters were more than a pleasure to host! We look forward to them coming back again soon as well!
My advice- there are numerous wonderful properties in Ludlow (we have stayed in multiple) pick another house. First and foremost the house has MICE. I should have been more aware waking in, every single outlet in the lower level has rodent plug-in’s in them and it’s actually house away from the dump. So the rodents kind of make sense. This was a huge burden as we had to throw away all the kids snacks and other food we brought bc mice went through them. After the first night no one wanted to sleep on the lower level. With 10 people (5 being kids) it was then super tight and unenjoyable upstairs. Another HUGE let down (and reason we rented the house) was the hot tub didn’t work. After a long day of skiing all my husband wanted to do was sit in the hot tub. It it’s only warm, it never gets hot. They did send a service person while we were skiing and it was hot for one night but the rest of the 3 nights it didn’t get hot again and the owner hardly answered.
Stupid things that really don’t matter but matter at the time were the owners said everything was set and ready to go and we didn’t need to bring anything. Well, when we got to the house late at night the first night the house was ice cold (with 5 kids at 10pm wanting to go to bed this was not fun), the entrance was extremely hard to navigate how we should enter the house bc of the snow blocking and the steps to the upstairs entrance were covered in snow and ice. The coffee maker heats but doesn’t make coffee (thank goodness we brought a keurig with us), toaster gets warm but doesn’t actually toast ever, the dryer takes about 8 hours to dry things and that’s multiple times turning it on, there were only two rolls of toilet paper in the whole house, handful of towels and the list could go on and on... Again- wouldn’t have been a problem if they just told us we need to bring things. All in all, save yourselves a gigantic headache and choose another residence.

This tenant was extremely problematic and what I would describe as a professional renter who understands the loopholes and technicalities in order to game the system to their advantage. They made up issues that they were having and exaggerated their discomfort level while staying at the house for self gain. Because of the disturbing complaints I decided to go to the property and stay there with my family the following weekend and found that the outlets all worked fine, the dryer just needed to have the lint cleaned out of the filter, there was no signs of mice, the coffee pot and toaster work great and my family enjoyed the hot tub 2 nights in a row with the water temperature over a 100 degrees! The recycling center is a qtr mile down the road, NOT a house away as explained in the above review; however, there is a river that runs along the right side of the home known as Sanders Brook. Hosts Beware and do not rent to Renters who have only been a member of VRBO for 3 weeks! Please take this review for what it is, an attempt at a free vacation! Please review all of our 5 star reviews when considering renting this home for your next getaway.
We were very happy to find this property available for our group of 10. Very comfortable for 6 kids and 4 adults. We loved the two family room spaces for us to get some space! We communicated with the host throughout the trip - very responsive!! Definitely recommend!

Suspicious Hot Tub Switch
Booked partly bsed prominently advertised Hot Tub. Was informed day of check in that it was out of commission. Previous review implies that had been true for over a month.
Location was great, very convenient to Okemo,, and we still had a great time.
Property was conveniently located within short drive to Okemo mountain (mile or so). Was exactly as advertised. Not fancy but not dingy. Property owners were fantastic with communication making for easy check-in and check-out. Steep driveway but to their credit was well maintained by them despite multiple ice and snow storms while we were there. Well stocked fireplace. Jacuzzi winterized so unable to use. Would stay here again.

Great location near Okemo!
This house is a 5 minute drive to Okemo ski area. Great house for a large number of people. There were at least 10 beds. The house was very clean and there’s a hot tub great for after skiing! It has 2 fireplaces and 2 living areas and is secluded in the woods. It does have a steep driveway but wasn’t an issue since there wasn’t any snow on the driveway. The kitchen is basic but functional with stove refrigerator ect. Great ski house!

Cozy, spacious & entertaining for the whole family
We had an amazing time visiting Ludlow through this home rental. The description of the rental home was very accurate and we found the home to be very comfortable, spacious but cozy, and very entertaining for both adults and the children. Everything was very convenient including access into town(including restaurants and necessities) and the skiing area is just a short 5 min drive. This home covers it all, its ideal for those who like to stay in for dinner( fully equipped kitchen) and at-home amusement and is close enough to the attractions in case you change your mind. It was a pleasure squaring away our plans with the owners who were very helpful to our needs and accessible at a moments notice. We will definitely stay at this incredible home for our next stay in ludlow.

Amazing weekend stay with large group of friends!
A large group of friends and I recently stayed for 3 days/2 nights at this wonderful house for a weekend ski trip. The house was warm, spacious, and very clean. It is split into two floors with about 6/7 (one sofa pull out) beds on the bottom floor, and 6 beds on the top floor. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the bathrooms had plenty of towels to use. They had recently installed a new hot tub which was amazing after a long day of being at the mountains.
The location was great as well. Their parking lot was very large and we didn't have any trouble fitting everyone's car. It's a very easy 5 minute drive to Okemo and even closer to Shaw's and Rite-Aid for some last minute supply runs.
One of the owners, Gene, was very helpful throughout the entire process. He was quick to respond to any questions we might have and made the trip up very smooth and hassle-free!

Great Ski Home for Large Groups
We stayed at this Ludlow home during Presidents' week for five nights. This home is great for large groups/families as it has lots of space and is well maintained. There are two floors so our children (we were three families) slept downstairs while the adults slept on the main floor. It worked out perfectly. The bed linens and bath towels were new which was definitely a plus. The mud room is large as you enter the home so you can leave your ski gear at the entrance.
We were stuck indoors due to the bitter cold for a couple of days but there was plenty of space for everyone and we enjoyed ourselves despite the weather. The ski conditions on the remaining days were quite ideal due to plenty of snow which was great! The home is a short, easy drive to Okemo/Jackson Gore and very close to town. It is off the main road and quite easy to get to yet it is isolated. There are great mountain views.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property to others.

About the host
Hosted by Gene, Jenn, and Keith
Being from Long Island, I’ve always loved coming up to Vermont during ski season and spending time with my grandmother in Manchester—just about 35 minutes from Ludlow. We purchased this beautiful home because it’s so close to Okemo Mountain and an easy drive to see family, and we’re excited to share it with guests who enjoy the same Vermont charm we fell in love with.
If you’re looking to explore beyond the slopes, we highly recommend a day trip to Manchester, VT for great shopping, dining, and classic New England scenery. On the way, be sure to stop at the famous Vermont Country Store in Weston—it’s about halfway there and is a fun, nostalgic stop that really captures the Vermont experience.
We hope you enjoy the home, the mountains, and the area as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Our chalet is tucked away in a peaceful woodland setting just outside the town of Ludlow. The moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by tall pines, the sound of the nearby river, and wide-open Vermont mountain views. It’s quiet, private, and feels like a true getaway—yet everything you need is just minutes away.
What we enjoy most about this neighborhood is the perfect blend of nature and convenience. In winter, you can be on the slopes at Okemo in just a few minutes. In summer and fall, you’re close to scenic hiking trails, swimming holes, farmers markets, and some of Vermont’s best foliage drives. Ludlow village has a warm, local feel with fantastic restaurants, cozy pubs, cafés, and small shops to explore.
At night, the area becomes incredibly calm and dark—ideal for stargazing from the deck, relaxing by the fire pit, or listening to the river in the background. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you instantly feel relaxed, connected to nature, and far away from the noise of everyday life.
Whether you’re here for skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, or just unwinding with family and friends, the neighborhood offers a little bit of everything that makes Vermont so special.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our chalet apart is the combination of complete privacy, expansive acreage, and proximity to Okemo—a mix that’s surprisingly hard to find in Ludlow. The home sits on over 10 peaceful wooded acres along a beautiful river, offering a quiet, secluded retreat where guests can unwind and feel immersed in nature, yet still be just 4–7 minutes from the slopes, village, shops, and restaurants.
