Don't let the duplex part fool you. They built these West Allentown 1920s models solidly and with great style. Lovely place in excellent condition retaining much of the great craftsmanship but without compromising comfort. In an extremely quiet, friendly neighborhood. A thoughtful supply of basic amenities were included. Best part: it's minutes from Allentown's excellent farmer's market as well as the world's greatest donuts (Mary Ann's Donut Kitchen for those not in the know). Host was friendly and easy to reach.
Located minutes away from center city this home has a welcoming historic feel. Great location with shopping, dinning and parks for walking the dog near bye. Home is well supplied and accurate to listing in a safe and friendly neighborhood. Property manager was prompt with communication and check in was a breeze.
We enjoyed our stay in this quaint and roomy townhome! Nice yard and plenty of space. We were visiting family nearby and it was very convenient for a family visit.
My son and I need a place to stay while attending MTB Nationals. Very comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. There is also grocery store nearby and neighborhood is very nice.

I loved hosting Brent! He and his family were kind and respectful. They left the house clean and free of damage. I’d welcome them back any time!
We had to find a place to stay while our house was being worked on due to a broken shut off water valve breaking and flooding our house. Leslie was very accommodating in letting us move in right away and with our changing dates of departure as reconstruction of our house dragged on. The house is located in a nice neighborhood and close to many restaurants. The house is spacious, clean and lovely. I highly reccomend this property for your stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed hosting Kathy and her family! They had fantastic communication and left the house in great shape. It’s guests like them that make hosting FUN!!
Air conditioning was terrible kept blowing circuit breakers and not cooling very well. Could not run two units on the same circuit. Had to jury rig a solution to this issue with a long extension cord and not use the upper bedroom. Bottom line the old units need to be replaced with more efficient units (just my opinion). TV didn’t work Overall the location was great with nearby parks and course.
Our stay and experience at this gorgeous property could not have been better! While nicely tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood, this wonderfully maintained home is accessible to numerous venues including restaurants, the PPL, downtown Philadelphia, etc. The backyard serves as another private area to gather and enjoy the outdoors — very well appointed and like the inside, provides many conveniences including a seating area and fire pit. As an added benefit to a family who travels with their dogs, they, too, had a new place to explore freely without us worrying about their safety.
Leslie was the epitome of a host. Her communication was timely (eg - always responded quickly) and she was incredibly accommodating with our requests. Her primary objective was to ensure that our stay was perfect and she hit the mark.
The only downside was that we were in town for an event, so didn’t get to enjoy the home more. However, we now have something to look forward to as we will return. If you are reading this to help decide whether or not to book this home, don’t hesitate for a second and reserve it … you won’t regret it!
I see I only have 1500 characters not enough. We were in town for a reunion and arrived as agreed after noon. I was told by the owner the key is in a lock box and that she would turn on AC remotely an hour before we got there. I said between 12-1 pm.
We actually arrived at 1:45, the key was there as promised. That’s where everything went down hill.
We walked in, AC was not running and it was 93 degrees and humid. The house did not smell clean, There were ashes in the fireplace that added to the bad odor; later I was told that the owner was just there to clean two days before.
Immediately my wife and I went into, “are we going to stay here” mode. We’ve had bad experienceds that we’ve suffered through before and will never do that again. I have multiple photos of the furniture and carpets being stained. Which I sent to VRBO and they called these, “minor issues”
The grill in the back yard still had meat and grease on it. I have a photo.
I fiddled with the AC to get it to work. Two floor standing portable units with flexible duct tubes leading out the window and one old style window AC, that popped a breaker within minutes of our switching it on.
The two floor standing units, one in the living room and one on the master bedroom were wholly inadequate. The one in the living room stopped working shortly after I turned it on.
We took photos, assessed our situation and I contacted the owner to tell her we are not staying in th property and wanted a full refund. I was rudely denied.

Tom’s experience was unfortunate. I strive to make sure every guest has a fantastic experience, but it quickly became clear to me that no matter what I did, Tim would not be happy. He made outrageous claims from the very beginning, and when I tried to help him through the AC issue, he told me he was a “60-year-old man who knew how to work the AC”. The issue was that he had it in “fan” instead of “cool”. I tried to explain this to him and tell him I had just checked all the units before his arrival (it’s been HOT, I understand things can break - that simply wasn’t the case here). the home received the mandated city inspection the day after his stay. I asked the inspector to objectively give feedback on some of the issues he brought up. The inspector said there was no smell, and that there were no concerns regarding the state of the property. Of course, I passed inspection. The house itself is always clean and ready for every guest and I pride myself on giving you a fantastic experience! With regards to the grille, I have stated in multiple places that the grill is offered but you’re responsible for cleaning it yourself. My cleaning staff does not clean outdoors, so I attempted to offer a highly requested amenity while knowing there are limitations.
Based on the facts, VRBO determined that his claims had no validity and no refund was necessary. Even so, I still provided a partial refund - I was not required to do so by VRBO but wanted to do the right thing.

Why they chose this property
In my opinion, the West End of Allentown is the best neighborhood in the Lehigh Valley. It's safe, walkable to parks and local attractions, while being close to all of the necessities and major thoroughfares.
What makes this property unique
At almost 100 years old, this property has a lot of the charm you typically see in older homes, like hardwood floors, arched doorways and cozy spaces.
