We had an excellent stay - the house is beautiful - a lovely, rustic-style house with big, tall windows in the living room, looking out on the beautiful deck and the lovely woods around the house. We enjoyed playing pool and ping pong on the nicely equipped game room, sat and talked on the gorgeous deck, and had some wonderful meals cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. A great visit to beautiful Quechee!

Thank you for your kind words. We are glad you enjoyed stay!
The property was great for our multigenerational family. Everyone had their own room and there were plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty to do on our rainy day as well.
Didn't have time to explore the amenities of the community so we'll have to come back!

We are so happy you had a great stay. Come back anytime!
The house was clean and well-equipped, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen had all the essentials for home-cooked meals, and the comfortable beds ensured restful nights. The outdoor deck was a highlight, providing stunning views of the forest and a perfect spot for morning coffee.
Location-wise, it was ideal—secluded enough for privacy and tranquility, yet conveniently close to a lot of fun activities and hiking trails.
The hosts were incredibly responsive and hospitable. This home is a true gem, and we highly recommend it for anyone seeking a peaceful escape in the heart of nature.

Thank you for your kind words Jackson. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Come back anytime.
This is an old fashioned cabin, way overpriced. Pictures create a different impression. I intended to have a bunch of adults stay there for a weekend event and had to move them all to the Woodstock Inn.

We feel sorry for Jim....
He never raised any concerns until 2 days after his departure by text message. When we offered to discuss it with Jim, he never responded. Look at all the positive reviews versus this one, his is by far an outlier. If there is ever any questions or concerns (which is rare), we address them immediately to the satisfaction of the persons renting our home. His characterization of our home as a "cabin" could not be further from the truth. The pictures are exactly what the rooms look like. If you are looking for a home that is a great family/friend gathering space, then this is it! We take great pride in our home. If you have any questions after reading this review or reviewing the pictures, feel free to contact us.
We are not sure Jim can be happy anywhere; that's sad. We know Jim rented several properties in Quechee for the same weekend, one with a $1500 a night price tag (more than three times our rate!). Maybe he is comparing our home to that one. Wow, at that price we really hope he enjoyed it, at least for his sake.

Great location.
We had a wonderful time in Quechee Vermont. I would urge any family to go and spend great time together doing a lot of outdoor activities. We rented this property based on pictures and location. In reality, the property is very dated. Everything is well used. The beds were quite uncomfortable. Many dishes and bowls were chipped. The screen door kept coming off its track. The outdoor deck was covered with pineneedles and filthy, dirty chairs. It looked like no one had cleaned it in months. We thought we could hang outside on the deck and enjoy the evenings but the chairs were filthy and needles were everywhere. It was quite disappointing. But they do have a basement with a pool table and ping-pong table that we really enjoyed. I gave this property 3 stars. We will return to Quechee but find a nicer property.

We were disappointed that you were disappointed in your stay. We even accommodated your early check in request. We make ourselves available to all renters during their stay and have a property manager on call for any mishaps. If we had heard from you during your stay, we could have had the pine needles cleared off, which often fall after a passing storm which we have no control of. He would have cleaned the chairs as well. Perhaps a beautiful home located in the woods of rural Vermont was not meant for you, however most renters enjoy the peacefulness, comfort and setting of our home as you can see in other reviews. We take our home comfort seriously as this has been our family home for over 40 years. In reality, our home is exactly as it is pictured and was just recently updated. We will review our inventory of bowls and dishes and replace. We attempted to reach out to you to discuss these issues via email after your review but had no response. We give you 3 stars as well for lack of communication.
We loved our trip! There were a few things we wanted to mention that we wished we had realized before getting to the property. Some were listed but we missed them in the description so we wanted to mention again in case anyone else doesn't read carefully.
The property owners were very responsive and the house was lovely. There were many of family photos so you felt like you were with old friends. There were a lot of stairs but we didn't spot a baby gate. The hot tub was turned off for the summer, and the pool was available but for $17 per person per session (each session a few hours long), which felt like a lot of money for our large group. One bedroom also had two twin beds pushed together to create a larger bed, which was awkward for the family staying in that room. We also couldn't figure out how to turn on the fan in the great room, and sometimes it got a little warm in there. I never asked the owners but I'm sure they would've gotten right back to me. There was a great deck outside but otherwise the property was super steep and there wasn't much flat space for outdoor activities. We also wrongly assumed there would be a firepit.
The property owners had great recommendations on activities and places to go and we loved borrowing their house for the weekend.

Treacherous driveway and path to the house
Unfortunately, while this place has lots of potential many things distracted from it being an ideal place for a group of older women. Most significantly the driveway and path to the steps up to the house is treacherous, with erosion all around the entrance to the house, making it difficult to maneuver and get people and luggage in and out. There is a moldy musty smell in parts of the house, especially downstairs(people with allergies had a hard time) and the fireplace needs a good cleaning as does the toaster oven and Keurig, which was unusable because it was so dirty. In addition, the main part of the house has one wall air conditioner in the loft, and the fan remote was missing so could not be used. The owner who was very attentive and tried to help but did not know where it was. He did offer to send someone but that person never showed up. The bedroom on the main floor and the twin room and bunk bedroom have no AC. The bunkbeds were made for children and we were unable to use them because you could not sit in them without banging your head.Other safety issues include the banister heading to the down stairs, is very shaky and held together with string, bathmats are missing from two of the bathrooms, making it very unsafe to shower, and the rug at the entrance is a trip hazard because it curls up on the sides. On the plus side, the house has a spacious great room, beautiful deck, and a nice bigtable for people to sit at. Lots of potential but needs TLC inside and out.

Thank you for your feedback. We would first like to state how proud we are of our home, the positive reviews, our attention to detail and outstanding communications with our guests. We're sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We always strive to provide an honest and accurate representation of our home, and we encourage all guests to carefully review the listing and photos before booking.
There are many pictures in our ad which give potential guests a good idea about the property and the accommodations. We do not believe our property was a good fit for this group. The steps leading to the entrance are clearly shown in multiple photos. The guests' stay was during an uncharacteristically hot and humid period for our location; however all 4 upstairs and main level bedrooms have air conditioning units. Many of our guests enjoy the natural airflow from the windows, but we understand that cooling preferences can vary.
Regarding the coffee machine and bath mats—we sincerely apologize if these items were not up to standard. We have addressed these concerns with our cleaning team to ensure that future guests have a spotless experience.
Our home is loved by many for its charm, character, and layout, but we recognize that it may not be the perfect fit for everyone. Many issues that ended up in this review of the property were never brought up by our guests or we would have addressed them. We can't address what we don't know. We are professional and courteous and work hard to satisfy our guests, We genuinely appreciate your stay and your feedback, as it helps us continue improving.
We highly recommend Delia and Phils Quechee home. We booked it over Thanksgiving week and it was just what we wanted. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes we needed. The game room downstairs was great for kids and adults alike. It was a warm and inviting space and everyone was comfortable. Thanks so much!
The house is very warm and welcoming. The location is perfect, near nice towns and at the same time secluded in the woods. The hosts very attentive and responsive. The house is very comfortable and perfect for our family reunion with plenty entertainment space. We loved our stay very much. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time in Hartford, Vermont. The house was charming and offered lots to do -we really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and ping pong! The owners were kind, attentive and informative. We would definitely return!
We could not have loved staying at this beautiful home more! We adored the nostalgia of the timeless mountain ski chalet motif. While the home and finishings were from another era, everything was in great working order and immaculately clean. It’s clear that this home was a place of joy and warmth for decades and we shared that spirit! The town of Quechee was at the base of the hill and we enjoyed the history as much as natural beauty of the region. Would love to come back again in the winter!
The house was perfect for us and we really enjoyed staying there for four nights. Everything was in good condition and the house was clean as expected. We used the gas grill, the deck, the hot tub, and the pool/ping pong tables in the basement in addition to the kitchen. There is a lot of room! We were very happy with our stay and I recommend the house.
We were 3 families with kids (11-15) staying at Phil and Delia's place. They were incredibly responsive to our questions/requests, texting back with any issues. The house is very nice and it's a great ski house. As we were unable to ski due to poor snow conditions and COVID, we spent a lot of time at the house and took advantage of the pool table, ping pong table, and huge assortment of games provided. Some of the amenties are a little dated and well used, but all are functional. We did have some issues with the hot tub, which Phil did his best to remedy as quickly as possible. As a makeup for that, Phil gave us a very late checkout to offset any incovenience that caused. All in all, recommended for sure, and would come back!
Had an absolute blast here for an early March ski trip. House was very well kept and the landlord was super responsive. Will be returning for sure! Thanks :)
We stayed for five nights for a family reunion. We had toddlers and grandparents and we all had a great time. The home is clean, well maintained, and surrounded by woods. The bedrooms are large, the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need for meals, and there is plenty of space to stretch out. The air conditioning worked great, we loved playing pool, ping pong, using the hot tub and grill, and there were many toys and games for the younger kids. We also used the Quechee Club and swam at both the lake and pool (the lake is wonderful, sandy beach and free boats and games). Phil and Delia were easy to communicate with. Overall a wonderful home and we would love to stay again in the future!
