About this property

Hobby farm Country Getaway Close To The City (Guest room #1)

*****This is an owner occupied house, FYI.*****

***Both spare rooms are rented out individually***

***Property also has 2 indoor cat for those with allergies

Large country home on 30 acres just off Hwy 52 about 10 miles north of Rochester. 2 Large unused upstairs bedroom with each with 3 beds. If needed additional sleeping areas can be added to the room (I have couches that have pull out beds and air mattresses).

If you want to get away from busy city life this is the place for you! I have a 3 bed/2 bath house in Pine Island with 2 unused bedrooms (12' x 20') and full bath on the upper level that I would like see used and make extra $ to fund various projects I'm doing with the house and property. I have one cat (inside) and two dogs (mostly outside). And a few horses and cows running around. The house is just off 52 out in the country between Oronoco and Pine Island (I have 30 acres). The other room upstairs is also open to stay in if there is not one else scheduled to stay in it (both rooms are rented out individually). The bathroom upstairs would be shared with whoever is staying in the other spare bedroom.

I am a nurse at Mayo Clinic and work 12 hr night shifts. I am very mellow, easy going and easy to get along with. House has central air, woodstove, sauna, washer/dryer, large porch in the front and a deck in the back of the house. I a lot of apple trees, fruit trees and berries during the non-winter months you are welcome to that too! On the main level is the living room, dining room, kitchen, my bathroom and my bedroom. The basement is a separate apartment listed on here

Also in the front pasture there is a small one room dilapidated cabin I'm trying to resurrect

Friendly pets and people
Rosie , the dogs and the cats were all very friendly. Didn’t realize the property was right next to Highway 52 but we didn’t hear the traffic sound with the windows closed and the air conditioning running. Very convenient location for adventures in Rochester and Lanesboro.

Wonderful Stay
We loved staying with Rosie. One of the most kind and great hosts I've had. The property was perfect. It was a little getaway from the cities. Not to mention, the dogs were angels as well.

Back on the farm!
This property is an actual farm. If you’ve been on a farm you know what to expect. Coming from Chicago, though formerly from a small town, I knew to bring my boots and clothes I could get dirty in. You need to know and accept that, before booking. I came to town for a trip to the Mayo Clinic, where I didn’t have the best time for various non-medical related issues. Part of the reason I chose to stay on a farm is the animals, as they tend to relieve my anxiety. Rosie’s two dogs were always happy to be pet, she has the friendliest cats(2) that I have ever met, not to mention her horses, and the cows. I found myself actually spending time outside, and when you have fibromyalgia, that’s an awesome feeling. Sure I’d get tired but I pushed through that because it was surreal to walk the property. I even caught my first toad! Rosie made sure everything was ready when I arrived. The room was a nice size but still felt cozy. She has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed our talks. The bathroom was shared with a fantastic couple across the hall. Absolutely no issues. For me, it changed my perspective on living in a major city. Waking up to see Lucky, one of the horses, was a great joy especially as we walked around together. This is the experience I wanted and it was much more than I expected.

Country farm house retreat!
Stayed here for my moms visit to the Mayo! Quick drive to the Mayo each morning! Rosie is a great host very friendly! Works hard to accommodate to your needs ! We enjoyed sitting out at one of her many tables in the back yard visiting and relaxing after long days at the Mayo! We really enjoyed the dogs daisy and Cody! The two cats Smokey and max! They made the trip fun! Very friendly animals and they love to eat scraps! Rosie is working on her home to make it even better ! Beds were comfy for my family of 6 and had free roam of home and felt very comfortable here ! We would definitely stay here again if we need to. Thanks Rosie for a nice stay during our hard times ! RN at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Grew up in Wisconsin on a dairy farm with 7 siblings, I can to get along with just about anyone! I love cheese :)Very spontaneous, bubbly, full of energy, sarcasm and wittiness, like to meet new people and see new places. I love doing home improvement a bit of a Martha Stewart/Bob Vila in I don't have Martha's felony convictions and Bob Vila's penis.

I love roadtrips, gardening, home improvement projects, fixing things that are broken (humans and machines) working with powertools, zombie and any sort of end-of-the-world/Apocalypse movies. Lately been addicted to watching TED talks and listening to NPR and a podcast 'How To Do Everything'. I might be a nerd?

Personal philosophy: Life is busy living or get busy dying. Yes that is a quote from 'Shawshank Redemption.' I am a nurse and see how short life is everyday I work.

Why they chose this property

If you want to get away from busy city and love animalsis the place for you! I have a 3 bed/2 bath house in Pine Island with 2 unused bedrooms (12' x 20') and full bath on the upper level that I would like see used and make extra $ to fund various projects I'm doing with the house. I have one cat(inside) and two dog (outside). The house is just off 52 out in the country between Oronoco and Pine Island (I have 30 acres). The other room upstairs is also open to stay in. The bathroom upstairs would be shared with whoever is staying in the other spare bedroom

Zumbro River runs thru property, Douglas Bike trail nearby

A little slice of heaven out here....I love the privacy out here! Closest neighbors are thru the woods and down the road. Country not in the a quick drive to Rochester. I live near hwy 52, you can hear the traffic. My neighbors are great if you happen to run into them.

Property is fenced have a few cows and horses roaming around

The Zumbro River run thru the will frequently see bald eagles and hawks soaring the skies. My dogs are doing their part to feed the local eagle/hawk population... I have seen the eagles eating the animals my dogs kill.

What makes this property unique

My little slice of heaven with nature all around. Zumbro River runs thru. Privacy and seclusion and two of the nicest dogs and cat you'll ever meet

Two of the nicest dogs to human, Kody and Daisy. In there past owners lives they both were hunting may see the occasional 'catch' of a squirrel, rabbit, raccoon etc they are using their hunting skills on. I am dreading the day they encounter a porcupine :-/
