Purple Moon Sea Breeze Cottage

Purple Moon Seabreeze Cottage is a beautiful historic Victorian bungalow located three blocks from downtown Ventura. We offer a queen-sized bed, king-sized bed and air beds are available upon request. This is a full sized home complete with washer/dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, televisions in both bedrooms and living room, lovely back deck in the back yard and a front porch area for sitting and admiring the view of the mountains and quaint architecture of Ventura. We have quick access to the beach. It is about a four block walk and there is a bridge to get you there faster, if you prefer. Downtown has lots of shopping, restaurants and a movie theater which shows ten movies. It is all within walking distance. We have an old-fashioned claw foot bathtub that comes with a shower head on it. We have a nice front and back yard for you to enjoy. Our front porch is an exceptional place to be during the parades. We have quite the view, too. Our home faces the beautiful mountains and homes across the street, which are really pretty to look at. Ventura is a lovely coastal city and the vibe is very laid back and the home is very comfortable. We have a piano for you to play. There are board games and yard games that are provided. We have internet and cable too!!

Great stay for work/fun

We were in town as vendors at an art fair, and this place was great. Very comfortable, super close to downtown. Dee was a great host and very communicative. We also had just spent a couple days out on Channel Islands so it was great to have laundry machine available.

50 shades of purple, that’s how o would describe this lovely bungalow. If you love purple and good vibes stay here. It is close to the downtown district where you can easily walk to dinner or shopping and also close to the beach, just a short drive or walk to the beach for sunset. The house is in Main street so close to many businesses yet quiet. Sit on the front porch with a glass of wine in a rocking chair and let your troubles melt away. A great vacation spot and Dee is very responsive. This is a wonderful purple place.

Lovely cottage on Main street.

This place is convenient to the pedestrianized part of Main Street, so it's a very nice area, but just far enough away to be very quiet at night. A few blocks from beach access, and good amenities that made it a very nice trip for us. Host was very communicative, and very accommodating.

Wonderful stay

The purple cottage was purely adorable. It's clean, spacious, and located very close to all the restaurants, and even the San Buenaventura mission. It was delightful to be able to walk around. Thank you Dorothea, for being such a wonderful host.

Super cute place with great layout. Close enough to the action to enjoy it (night life, dining, shopping) and far enough away to relax and enjoy the quiet. Very responsive host. We really appreciated working with her!

Close enough to walk to everything, far enough out for peace and quiet

This adorable historic cottage is situated right at the edge of the pedestrian area of downtown; as such it was easy to walk to everything, but we were pleasantly surprised how quiet and peaceful it was especially at night. Parking was never a problem. It was so much fun to stay here we will definitely be back! Owner was friendly and made us feel very welcome.

We walked to meals, to wander around the downtown area, and would have walked to the Botanical Gardens but they were unfortunately closed while we were there. Ventura has so much to do and we packed the weekend with fun activities. Can't wait to return.

Ah-mazing spot, felt like home

We had a lovely stay at this home. Being walking distance to our Ventura Fairgrounds event was the icing on the cake. All our basic needs were taken care of. The owner is an angel, with stellar communication skills and caring concern for our well-being and enjoyment of her unique and comfy home. We will return! And we will also recommend to friends.

Charming and cozy spot

We enjoyed our stay at Purple Moon. Very close to shops and downtown. The host was easy to talk to. Check in was easy. The place was clean and as listed. Our 5 year old son had fun in the mini rocking chair. We loved walking the neighborhood. It was a charming time.

Cute cottage, great location - near downtown Main Street shopping & restaurants - pier only 10 min walk from house. Very convenient. Host was great - allowed us to check in early as my daughter had to work and needed wifi - we really appreciated this accommodation. The only thing we didn’t love was the shower - the tub is a quaint old free standing tub, but was a bit small. Overall, a nicehome full of charm.

Lovely cottage

We had a great time at Dorotheas lovely cottage. It was very comfortable for our family of 4. The kids enjoyed the board games and playing the piano. We loved the close proximity to many restaurants & stores and even enjoyed a 10 minute walk to see San Buenaventura Mission lit up in the evening. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many thoughtful touches... whether from extra towels, to the well stocked kitchen, to the piano music to sight read... we had a lovely time and highly recommend.

So relaxing!!

Dorothea was an amazing hostess. Hurricane Hilary was on it's way and she kept in communication with me to let me know she was available should anything happen. The vibe of the house was so comfortable and relaxing. We spent our evening out on the front porch enjoying the weather and dinners on the back deck. It is perfectly located from downtown and the beach; all within walking distance. I will definitely be staying there again.

Birthday weekend with the girls

Once again, the Purple Moon Sea Breeze Cottage was our first choice! There were 3 of us most nights and a 4th girlfriend joined us for 1 night, so there was plenty of room! The shower in the laundry room was a smart addition ! The beds are the best I've slept in and I found Dorothea to be very easy to deal with! It was a sad day when we packed up and went back to reality! We will be back!

Location can't be beat!

Myself, my husband, and our 4yo twins stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house is just two blocks from downtown Ventura, which is closed to car traffic and the perfect spot to shop, get food, or a coffee. There's something for everyone. I highly recommend a walk to the Mission, there's a really cool fountain down there. The house is so comfortable and unique. It gets lots of natural light, it's spacious, and the beds and couches were very comfortable. It's spotless too! For an old house, I expected some old dust, but no, it was immaculate. And well stocked. So many towels, blankets, dishes, and even toiletries. The water is hot, pressure is great. The front and back decks are great spots to relax. There were a few games that helped keep my kids entertained, and I loved that I could turn them out on the front yard or back porch to play. Dorothea was very responsive. Check-in was easy, checkout was even easier. We had a great time!

We had a wonderful time at Purple Moon Sea Breeze Cottage! We visited with our kids, 7 and 4, and this home was great for us. It was clean, well stocked, had toys and games for the kids, and the location was great. It’s an easy walk to and from the beach (even for the 4 year old). The host, D, communicated well and was very friendly, but she prefers to communicate outside of Vrbo which felt a bit risky, but ended up totally fine. I would definitely recommend this property!

The Purple Moon Sea Breeze Cottage is a very nice place to stay. The architecture of the house fits in nicely within the neighborhood of various interesting and well-maintained turn of the century type houses. It has been updated with all modern appointments, is very spacious, clean and comfortable. It might remind you of your grandmother's house. It's close to the beach but doesn't hold to any nautical motif. The purple is just plain old fun. Super convenient to Downtown Ventura, a vibrant and cozy collection of restaurants, breweries and shops. Dorothea is very easy and pleasant to do business with. We would not hesitate to return to Ventura and stay at the Purple Cottage.

The very best part of this vacation rental business is making people happy and that is what I like to do.

No words. Just beautiful. Pure JOY! I love to walk downtown and do the fun things downtown. The beach is super close and the neighbors are wonderful.

What makes this property unique

You can literally get anywhere downtown from here. You can walk to the ocean and downtown and you can also go up to the Cross and see the view. Just a great location!
