We had a wonderful stay! Cabin was perfect. Well equipped with everything we needed for a week of joy in the wilderness. Richard was very helpful both before and during the day. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Highly recommended.

I am glad you had a wonderful time and pray your community can restore and heal.
We stayed from 7/11/25 - 7/19/25 - a group of about 6 friends for our annual "man trip." The cabin was perfect and Richard (the owner) could not have been more accomodating. The cabin was well stocked with great views. We were relatively close to Glacier National Park as well.
Property is off the hook in regards to location and views. Richard is a great host. I would highly recommend this property for a family vacation in a remote location.
We loved staying in this cabin. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Richard was available for any questions we had. The views and serenity were amazing!
All I wanted was a place to sit and take in the Beauty of the area. This place delivers.
We stayed 4 nights and I was always in awe of the beauty around us. The house is wonderful. Location is nice and snug in the mountains. It is far from everything which is what we wanted. The nearest town was over an hour away, which I loved. Richard was very friendly and easy to work/communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

That makes me very happy. Thank You for your kind words.
We stayed at this cabin while we got married in GNP. This cabin was incredibly beautiful inside and out. Set just off and above the north fork road, it was the perfect place for us. It offered peaceful solitude and everything we needed. The cabin was really well stocked for cooking, and the washer/drier made life a lot easier after traveling for a week. The house is off the grid, and everything worked perfectly for us. Richard the host was even kind enough to let us have a small wedding dinner at the cabin, and this was a perfect place for it.
The property was way better than the photos! We absolutely loved our stay. The house was off the grid but had solar power and a back up generator. We had everything we needed. The owner was super friendly and spoke with me about the area before we arrived to answer questions I had. The property manager who lives in the area was amazing as well. I highly recommend this property. We also saw a ton of animal tracks on the property so if you are looking to see animals this is the place!
If I could leave more than 5 stars I would!

Beautiful cabin, convenient access to Polebridge and Glacier. Loved having water and power!
The owner was very accomodating and great with communication. The cabin has plenty of parking. The panoramic views are amazing and the wrap around deck was perfect for relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped. The eclectic antiques sparked many conversations with our group. For a larger gathering, the bunkhouse (and its full bath) is worth the extra expense. We stayed during a rainy weekend and never felt "off the grid" thanks to the generator. We enjoyed a wilderness cabin experience with 5 star hotel amenities. Great value, thank you, Richard!

Thank You for your kind words.I take peoples vacations very serious and it is comforting to me to here that you had a good time and enjoyed yourselves.
Imagine a space that provides remote,
distraction-free peaceful restoration, while also being able to make memories in GNP and the surrounding areas.... this is THAT place! Our blended family of 7 (kids ages 14-23) had plenty of room at Richard's cabin and bunkhouse. The pictures show everything accurately and we hope we are lucky to return soon! Richard was extremely helpful and went out of his way to assist in fixing a flat tire. Our kids loved playing with his dogs, Jocko and Rocky, and are still talking about them! This cabin is a treasure, look no further!
Great get-away a long way from the hustle and bustle. Quiet and peaceful with great views. Completely off the grid, so you can unwind properly. No WiFi, no phones and no noise. Stars were absolutely amazing. A little further from Glacier than we would have prefered and roads were poor. But we loved our stay! Be sure to do your complete grocery shopping before you head to the cabin. It is a long haul to the nearest grocery store (well over 1 hour). Don't count on the Polebridge Mercantile as they are VERY limited in what they offer, but do have some good baked goods.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Maybe could of been great except for all issues.
Infested with mice no power for a day and no water because well pump was out. In order for you to use toilet had to take 5 gallon buckets and walk to a pond. Had to throw away food that mice had gotten into. I can send pictures of infestion. Need a serious refund.

Infested REALLY? I put 2 traps in the house and did not catch anything.Without ELEC for 2 hrs in the daytime found out the well line was the problem and offered money back if you got a hotel. You did not leave so I got fresh water from neighbors and 5 gal pails of pond water for toilet. Last day you wanted more $ returned to you than the property cost you.I asked VRBO and since I offered to return money if you wanted a hotel and you stayed I should not return anything but I did anyway and gave you a 5 star rating. Your lies and exaggerations cant tarnish 6 years of wonderful people and 5 star ratings.
The cabin and bunkhouse were perfect for our party of 3 adults and 4 teen/tweens. Do understand the loft has the twin bed plus a trundle but sleeping in this space would be a challenge for a taller person. Also know the sleeping areas are open with no doors. The kids loved there own space in the bunkhouse!
The kitchen was well supplied and there was nothing we needed but did not have. We cooked all meals in and brought all dinners frozen in coolers that kept other food cold for our week long stay. The fridge is small so plan accordingly.
Approximately 4 m from Polebridge this basecamp was perfect for our week of rafting and hiking. We have never seen more stars plus a meteor shower and the comet! Thank you Richard for sharing your place with us!!

Wonderful, it makes me very happy that you all had a great time. I often wonder if people enjoyed themselves. Thanks Richard
Wow! This place is WONDERFUL! The views from this cabin are amazing. Comfortable patio furniture that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings. The inside of the cabin is beautifully decorated with lots of antiques and feels homey. Clean, and the owner has stocked the cabin with everything you would need to live there. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals.
I could see the stars from the master bed every night. Comfortable beds. The temperatures were warm the week we stayed, however the cabin never was “hot” and it cooled down to a perfect sleeping temp every night.
Awesome to have a washer and dryer to do laundry midway through the week as well.
The owner was super nice and checked in with us when we arrived. Made sure we knew if there was anything we needed we could contact him anytime. Our family felt very well taken cared of and we will stay at this cabin again the next time we visit!
If you are looking for remote yet perfectly located spot for your Montana/Glacier National Park adventures then this is the spot for you! The cabin is located near the Camas road entrance to the park which allowed us to avoid the crowds waiting in line for the main entrance.
The cabin itself is beautifully curated with the owners collection on antiques and overlooks a creek with incredible mountain views and star gazing that cannot beat! The kitchen was hands down the best stocked kitchen I have ever experienced as a frequent vacation renter, which was key for these millennial chefs and food snobs! The cabin was clean and homey! Perfect for a relaxing mountain stay!
Communication with the host was excellent! There has been a problem with the pump the week before my stay and he alerted me well before my trip in case it couldn’t have been fixed in time for our trip. Thankfully the pump was fixed in time! It would have been tragic to have missed out on this gem of a cabin!
Awesome place….there are just a couple things to know…there is very little privacy, no walls around bedrooms, so make sure you go with people you really like! The upstairs bedroom is a twin bed with a 2nd twin mattress on the floor. There is plenty of electricity from the solar/generator, but there is no AC. We came in July, temps in the mid-80’s. I am a heart patient and have a heat intolerance….so just be aware if you do as well. There are about 20 rugged, DUSTY miles of gravel road to get to the cabin, so find a way to cover your luggage or they will be very dirty/dusty when you get there. The living room furniture is not extremely comfortable…but still nice…most people don’t spend a ton of time in the cabin anyway. I do really recommend this cabin….it is breathtaking and the location is A+. Richard, the owner was great, his decorations are museum worthy…it is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it….I just wanted to put this out there.
Words can't describe how beautiful the cabin and property are. We felt instantly comfortable and at home in the cabin that is decorated with such care and flair. Outside, you can hear the rushing water of the river below and see wildflowers and grand mountain vistas everywhere you look.
Richard was an exceptional host, contacting me months before our arrival to make sure we understood about getting road ticket passes into Glacier, and I really appreciated that because we would not have known if he hadn't told us.
I thought "off the grid" would be more like camping, but wow, this place was luxurious! There is nothing special you have to do to live there and I am very impressed with the workings of the cabin.
We live a long, long way from here, but my family and I would love to come back. It is so peaceful, relaxing, and gorgeous.
We saw the hugest grizzly bear make its way by the pond and wander through the yard (it kept its distance from the house where we were), then leave down the hillside toward the river. It was an experience of a lifetime!
This place is exceptional!!!!
Thank you, Richard, for sharing your lovely home!

Sarah, I am very happy you had a great experience at my home and your kind words are appreciated. The Grizzly bear you witnessed was only seen by a few vacationers over 6 years so consider yourself fortunate. I remember my first one years ago and how proud I was to witness an icon of the American west.
The property was lovely and the views were amazing, but the host has not properly equipped the cabin for how remote the location actually is. The generator battery died the second night. It is 2 hours drive to civilization in an emergency. When we reached the owner from a cabin in Polebridge, he said "shouldn’t you all just go to bed anyway" at 9:30pm on our vacation. I felt that was a very odd thing to say. There was no apology, no solution offered, and ultimately no offer to discount the price at all for our trouble. My husband has a c-pap machine, we had 2 toddlers, and we run a business and had to have internet early that morning to communicate with customers. We understand things go wrong and it is off grid, but we stayed at this place because we were assured that it had electricity and wi-fi. There should have been an extra battery or charger for the generator on site. It was a totally preventable situation.
The stove also broke after the second night and we were unable to cook meals for the remainder of our stay which made a huge financial difference with 11 people. The caretaker , Nick, who was very helpful and courteous ( unlike the owner) tried his best but was unable to get the stove working again.
One of the 3 toilets was also broken the first night, but we were informed of that before we arrived and that was taken care of the next day.
There were also only 6 patio chairs and most were very worn and ripped. The house sleeps 10 people and the balcony is amazing so a few more STURDY and comfortable chairs would be nice.
Overall, we had a great vacation and didn’t let these things ruin it. The host will have no problem renting the property because of the location primarily and because it is in fact a great place. I just hope he can learn some customer service skills and maybe put some money into fixing some of the things that are wearing out so that others will have a better experience. I would have been much more understanding had he offered even a token compensation or apology.

If you did not over react and hand the phone off to a stranger you would of herd me tell you I will have someone come up tomorrow.Nick drove 50 miles the next mourning only to find out someone in your party or the previous party touched the buttons on the generator or inverter. Nick told you this before he left. The stove was never broken if you read the welcome letter as everyone is told to do you would not have had a problem lighting it.Your other issues do not deserve a response,7 years of a 5 star rating I suggest you read all the other responses from people that have stayed there.
Thanks to the owner Richard who really has thought of everything to make a stay in his home memorable. The views at every turn are amazing and the house itself well appointed. Quite a bumpy ride into the property so be prepared. But Polebridge in general is a bumpy ride. A truck fares well. All in all, the property and the home was lovely.
Wonderful off-grid facilities in the Flathead National Forest. Complete privacy and spectacular views of the mountains. Close to many attractions of Glacier National Park. Had a GREAT time at this home.
Absolutely great place to stay!! Loved the remoteness but still had internet. Great view sitting on the deck. We met Richard (the owner) and loved talking to him. 5 star all the way!!
This home was outstanding in every way. We loved being in Richard’s home. Everything we could possibly have needed plus the bunk house that we did not use. The listing says the cabin sleeps four. I would say the fourth is a stretch. Meticulously clean. Lovely decor for the north west region. We would return in a minute.
