About this property

INDIANA AVENUE BEACH HOUSE 5 BDRMS. 4 BATHS. ACCOMMODATES TWELVE GUESTS!

The Indiana Avenue Beach House is available to mature, responsible and respectful families only. Our home is located in a peaceful, quiet residential neighborhood and is not well suited for loud groups nor late night parties. The home has five bedrooms total. One bedroom is located on the first floor and four bedrooms are located on the second floor. There are four bedrooms with queen beds and the fifth bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds. There are four full baths. One full bathroom is located on the first floor and three bathrooms are located on the second floor. Two of the three second floor bathrooms are en suite and located within a bedroom. Plenty of room for everyone!

Please note that we do not have a huge yard. There is enough room for a game of Baggo, horse shoes, ring toss, etc. in the front or side yard. For outdoor activities that need more space, we are a very short distance to South Haven's South Beach and Kid's Corners Public Park. Just to be clear, we do not have a huge yard. What we do offer is the most ideal location centered between downtown South Haven and Lake Michigan!!!

Given the size and location, we feel the Indiana Avenue Beach House is the perfect home for your family's summer vacation!!!

Great Labor Day weekend getaway

Awesome location, price wasn't a great value, but this was a bit of a splurge on a high volume weekend to make the trip easier given access to the beach/harbor for our family without needing to drive. Would stay again.

We visit South Haven every two years to enjoy time with our children and their families. The property we chose was great for the 10 of us. It is nice when each family can have their own bathroom and when there are many areas where we can mingle and play games

Very nice house....in a beautiful neighborhood with a great location.

Enjoyed our stay in this great 5 bedroom house. Walking distance to town and marina/lighthouse was a great plus! Beautiful kitchen, nice porches, the only downside was not much yard, and the beds/bedding could be updated. Our host kept us informed and was very accommodating . All in all we had a great weekend in South Haven.

South Haven Beach Home Rentals

We had a fantastic weekend getaway in South Haven thanks in large part to our wonderful host, Michael! From the very beginning, communication with Michael was excellent. He was prompt, informative, and answered all our questions thoroughly before our arrival. Upon arrival, the house was exactly as described and clean. It was the perfect space for our group of friends. Overall, our experience with Michael was top-notch. He made our stay in South Haven enjoyable and stress-free. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Michael's property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the area. We'd love to book again for a future trip!

Celebrating 70

Got together with high school girlfriends to celebrate all of us turning 70. Arrived at the Indiana house and every room was spotless and so comfortable. We all loved the kitchen that had everything we needed for us to cook. Loved sitting out on the deck enjoying Michigan fresh air. Short walk to town for shopping and restaurants. Michael's rentals are well cared for and you will feel like you are at home. Highly recommend!

Great location, old mattress

Exactly as advertised, great location, large home. Its a old home thats been rehabbed, so while there is air conditioning, it doesnt circulate well in the upstair bedrooms and the main level is freezing. Another drawback is the mattresses are old and sag in the middle. The pillows are old as well. If you have issues with sleep this could be a problem.

Fall Getaway

Everything was great! The house was very nice and clean. Lots of seating. Would be great for a summer stay for sure. It was very nice being in walking distance of the downtown restaurants. WiFi was available and easy to use. The ad did say the TV was a smart TV but it did not appear to be. There was a Firestick remote but no Firestick. That was really the only issue we had. It had lots of linens and fans in each of the bedrooms which was great. We were only there for 2 nights but it had everything you'd need for a longer stay.

Family vacation 2023

The house was nice, we rented because it had 5 bedroons and 4 full baths to accommodate our family groups. We had 4 kids, so the 4 bunk beds were awesome. We had a water heater issue for most of visit, but there was an outside shower with hot water and the property owner is making good with us. Communication with the owner was great. This is a great house for family groups or just couples. Nice stocked kitchen and dishwasher. Short walk to Downtown and Beach. We had a wagon to haul stuff to the beach. Never had to drive if we didn't want to. Beautiful area(South Haven). I loved the kitchen! Nice bath towels too.

Excellent house and great location

Excellent property. Has plenty of room for a decent sized group. We had 8 people in our party - the number of bedrooms, beds, and bathrooms, along with large common areas (living room, dining room, kitchen) was great to spread around. Outdoor space is somewhat limited, but we made do. Location was 3-4 blocks away from South Beach and 2 blocks from downtown South Haven. It worked out great for us to either walk to the beach during the day and at night for the sunset, and to town when going out for a bite to eat or just walking around. Highly recommend the house. We had one issue with the cable/internet going out for a few hours (I believe due to Comcast doing maintenance in the neighborhood) and the property manager/owner responded quickly to our inquiry. Would gladly stay there again in the future.

Ice Breaker/Pub Slide 2016

We stayed at the Indiana Avenue Beach House this weekend for the 2016 Ice Breakers Festival. Michael offered us the choice between this house and one he owns on the North Beach where we have stayed previously. We chose this location as it was such a close walk to town yet and also an easy walk to the South Beach. We feel we made the right decision as we all could easily walk to town for all of the festivities in just a few minutes. Our group consisted of ten adult family members and we could not have been more comfortable. The house has been beautifully restored while still maintaining much of it's original charm. We have stayed in several of Michael's homes over the years and have never been disappointed. His attention to every detail makes staying in his beautiful homes so enjoyable. We just got home this afternoon and are already talking about a return trip to South Haven. We all agreed that when we do return, we will be staying at the Indiana Avenue Beach House! Thanks again for opening up your home to us so we could create more South Haven memories !

Amazing location!

Michael was a gracious host. The house is in a darling part of the town. You can walk to the town for dinner, shopping, and treats. You can see the boats from the street! Lovely property and was perfect for our needs.

Perfect location and for 2 Families

The 9 of us enjoyed the beautiful house and its location near the beach, harbor, and town. You truly can’t beat this location! It’s an easy walk to all three. The kitchen was large enough to be cooking meals for 9 with lots of helpers. It’s pretty well stocked. We also used the nice gas grill twice. There was plenty of room to be together for the Ohio State football game on the extra large L couch. There were enough tables/areas that some could be playing a board game while others played euchre and others did homework. The beds were just so so. The showers had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Plenty of good towels. Each room had a fan if needed for white noise or hot flashes! The AC worked great. The owner was extremely nice and helpful with good communication. He even allowed us to check out later since no one was right behind us.

Perfect location! Both downtown South Haven and beach area within walking distance. Michael was dry communicative throughout the whole process which made check in and out very easy. House had a nice kitchen and large living areas to accommodate the whole family.

Great Vacation

Lovely well equipped home close to everything! Short walk to the beach, splash pad, playground or downtown. The older members of our group really enjoyed the porch and the kids loved being close to everything. Great for kids and adults!

We live in the north suburbs of Chicago however we feel South Haven is our home away from home. We can not say enough great things about the community and the people of South Haven. We both have very demanding schedules and spending time together in South Haven allows us to focus on each other and our four children.

Why they chose this property

It seems with most beach towns in Southwest Michigan, if you stay at the beach, you have to drive in to town. Conversely, if you stay in town, you have to drive to the beach. South Haven offers the ability to walk to both. The South Beach and downtown area are only a short three block walk from the Indiana Avenue Beach House. Life is good and the living is easy!

What makes this property unique

We enjoy the easy access to the South Beach as well as the less than five minute walk to downtown South Haven. Once the groceries are purchased, there is no need for your car again. We have said it so many times but it is true... once you come to South Haven, it feels as though all of life's struggles seem to be lifted. We hope you are able to experience the same feeling! A great set up for additional family or your best friends but you still have your own private space!!!
