1006 Painted Shores Retreat

Escape to our beachfront oasis, where the rhythm of the waves sets the tone for relaxation. The living room and master bedroom are flooded with natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the relaxing views of the beach can be enjoyed from the kitchen room, dining area, living room, and bedroom, the perfect space to unwind is the deeper balcony to the right of the living room!

Leave your cares, pool towels, and other amenities behind. Our kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes and appliances. A generous amount of towels is provided, but they can also be exchanged at the front desk as often as needed to enjoy the on-site heated pool and hot tub.

Other onsite amenities for your enjoyment include tennis and pickle ball courts, shuffleboard, horseshoes, picnic grills, and hammocks. Our management team is committed to ensuring your living experience is smooth, enjoyable, and sure to produce fond memories.

Situated on the east end of the island, our beachfront condominium is near a variety of restaurants and a little farther, the historical Strand area with its parks, shopping, museums, trendy cafes, and cultural hotspots, making your stay as comfortable and customizable as you desire. There are no meters or other hassles of street parking here as parking is in a designated lot on the north side of the building, with other overflow parking available if needed.

We loved the three balconies with railing high chairs that looked over the railing. We enjoyed being up on the 10th floor. The unit is a little more away from the pool area, making it more quiet. It was our 2nd stay in this unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very pleased with the service and the unit we rented. It is very nicely decorated, it has all the necessary amenities and everything we needed.We had not been to the Galvestonian in a couple of years (we have been coming since 1990, almost every year). We found a new booking system is in place. One of the requirements was upsetting. We requested early check in and were charged 25 dollars for each hour (50 dollars in total, we checked in at 2 pm). I believe this is unreasonable, due to the already high prices for the rental. In all our past visits we were able to check in at noon with no surcharge. Just something for the new administration to consider.

Updated Condo with Great View

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at this unit several times now after renting other units over the years. It's been our favorite for many reasons: nicely updated, well-stocked kitchen, immaculately clean, quiet (you occasionally hear the service elevator or people on the floor above), two balconies with comfortable outdoor furniture, and an amazing view. We also love the living room candles on timers - gives a relaxing ambiance at night. Perhaps more guests have discovered this wonderful unit since during our recent visit there were stains on the rugs and yellow chair, and the tub and sink drains were very slow. Also, this time there was a constant odor from the AC that we've not experienced in the past, and the unit felt very damp/humid upon checking in and throughout our stay, despite ensuring that patio doors were always firmly closed. We notified the front desk of these issues - hope they can be fixed for our next visit. Still, we had a fantastic time enjoying the pool, beach, and perfect proximity to many great restaurants in Galveston.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful unit and extremely well equipped. The unit was all updated and the furniture was new. I asked for clean towels early one day and they were at the door within 15 minutes. Much different from last year when I called 3 times in one day and no one ever came so that has definitely improved. Love the view from all the units and the close proximity to the beach. There is only one extreme negative and its guest having to wear wrist makes you feel as if you are being singled out from the owners and you have a big Scarlet Letter on your arm (hey I’m a guest). It’s also hard and rough on your arm and it will leave a tan mark if you leave it on while in the sun. This seriously needs to be eliminated. Been coming here since the 80’s and we never had to wear them before. Other than that one thing the complex is beautiful and staff is friendly.

There have been instances where people will use our free parking and walk in the front door and directly out to the pool, picnic area, and beach walkover as if it was public access. Unfortunately, many hotels and condos are having to implement this security feature. Owners and staff also wear wristbands so please don't feel singled out. We hope to see you again soon.
