Zion Edge Retreat is a gem. We enjoyed everything about this rental property. On our arrival we were greeted by some unexpected extras including wine, eggs, cheese and milk. The host stopped by to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed. Zion Edge is so comfortable and is our favorite!
The property is gorgeous. Everything in the home is new and in great condition. The host was great and accommodated our family. Would definitely stay here again!
The property was wonderful! The location is just what I had hoped for, nestled in amongst rugged mountains. The neighborhood was quiet and the property itself was outstanding. We had a great time!
We stayed at this lovely property for one night. It was very open and welcoming. Plenty of room for me and my adult kids. Would definitely recommend. And definitely want to stay again!
We loved our stay here and wish we would have stayed longer but we were only passing through. We will definitely stay again, when we come back for Zion in the future. We arrived later than planned but received a message that the lights were turned on to make it easier to find. The house is very cute and they have thought of everything - wine upon arrival, food in fridge, filtered water, and even an introduction after we settled in. The hot tub on the top deck was just what we needed after a long day of hiking and being on the road. We highly recommend staying here!
This is a beautiful property, located in Hildale/Colorado City, UT. These are small towns that are not traditionally built around tourism. We were visiting Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, and I had found this location as a good place to stop in between those locations when traveling down from SLC and Moab. Heading North to South, was about a 2 hour drive from Bryce Canyon. Heading to the South Entrance of Zion, this property is a 52-56 minute drive. You take roads through Hurricane, Mt. Verkin, and Springdale on way to Zion from this location. This is a wonderful property. The owner clearly cares about how it is presented to guests. Clean, well stocked with items that are useful for cooking/grilling. The owner also left a very kind gift for us - a nice bottle of wine, as well as eggs/dairy from a local farm. All were delicious. The town around this property is small, and there are a handful of places to eat. If you want quiet, this is a good spot for you. There is a great grocery store in town for stocking food/dry goods. The view of the mountains is spectacular, and the roof top deck was perfect for stargazing. We had aspirations of using the hot tub, but we were here in June, and it was refreshing to enjoy the cool breezes on the deck at the end of a hot day of exploring. There is a ton of value, and we could not have stayed anywhere else with these amenities for this price. I am very grateful to have been able to spend time here with my family.
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was super clean, new and fully equipped. We relaxed on the rooftop lounger and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars after a long day of hiking. The cabin situated on a private land with a mountain view all to yourself. It was so quiet but not secluded as the grocery store is just 10 mins away and there is a farm shop nearby. We visited Zion, Bryce, Pink Coral Sand Dunes state park and Water Canyon Trail which is highly recommended. Having a washer dryer and home comforts really make the stay easier and the beds are comfy with a large bathroom and a wood burner for a cozy night.
The host gave us lovely mozzarella cheese, eggs and raw milk from the farm nearby to make us feel welcome. For when you are too lazy to cook, the coffee place at Bee’s grocery store does a nice coffee and breakfast. We also enjoyed lunch at Blue Agave Mexican restaurant too. Would come back again!
This was beautiful property against the red rocks. Very clean and well cared for. You can tell a lot of care and craftsmanship went into building the house. The wood work is beautiful. Nice roomy bathroom and laundry room. Extra cots if needed. Complimentary wine. Complimentary eggs, cheese, and milk from a dairy/creamery nearby. The kids enjoyed watching Disneyplus. There were many other options we could've chosen as well. Comfy couch. We didn't get time to play cornhole or soak in the hot tub upstairs. But the stars were beautiful as we made sure to look at them before we went to bed. Nice fenced back area to eat or play games or park for easier unloading. A nice place to land for tired travelers. We were thrown off a little since we came in the dark. We thought we had the address wrong since we didn't think there was a neighborhood nearby, as the pictures show the property is by itself. You have to go through a rundown neighborhood to get to the house. But the house itself is beautiful and lovely and we felt safe. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house!
This place was amazing. Seeing the stars from the hot tub at night and being able to watch the sunrise from the rooftop deck felt surreal. The house itself was fantastic too, super comfortable, with all the amenities I could want and more. Supporting the local dairy farm was just the cherry on top. We were on our way to Zion and when we plan a trip back to Zion, we'll definitely look up the Zion Edge Retreat again.
If you are looking for a place to see the stars, this is the place. All the amenities were amazing. We were able to watch a movie in the hot tub while enjoying the stars above. The beds were comfy, and everything was clean. The host planned/thought of all that you needed for your stay. Would love to come back.
This property is amazing! It was clean and comfortable and the upper deck with jacuzzi had great views! It was perfect for our sour muscles after two days of hiking in Zion National Park.
Excellent property, location, & provided amenities. Hot tub & night sky viewing recommended! Quiet for a good night’s rest. Location convenient to Zion national park for a recommended trip
We loved this beautiful home and were very appreciative of the owner being responsive and providing us with wine and pizza after our arrival was delayed due to flight cancellations
It was a perfect stay for our family of four. The kitchen was wonderful & the kitchen was very well stocked. We were able to eat breakfast there, pack lunches for our hikes, & cook on the grill at night. The hot tub was a great way to end the day. The washer & dryer came in handy and it was nice to leave with clean clothes. It was enjoyable to see the horses, hear the roosters, & the view was magnificent! WiFi was great and the kids enjoyed watching movies at night to relax. Checkin and checkout was very easy & the owner was very responsive & answered our questions promptly. We highly recommend this rental.
Overall staying there was incredible. The host is extremely helpful, responsive, and stocks the fridge with essentials before your stay. The area around the house is awesome especially from the roof. It’s kind of a drive from Zion (about an hour) but my group found it worth it considering how great the house was. If you need anything the host lives nearby on the property. Even though there are a few houses around it’s well spaced and feels private with a tall fence, private driveway, and a double sided privacy wall on the roof. All the appliances are new and the single bathroom isn’t a problem with a double sink and large bathtub. Next time we are in Zion we will be staying here again.
Such a wonderful home. The attention to detail of the home was incredible. The owner was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. He greeted us when we came in and again thanked us for staying at the end of our week there. The views from the rooftop were gorgeous for star gazing and the hot tub was just what we needed after hiking the parks. It was the cleanest hot tub I’ve ever been in. If you’re looking for a remote place to stay to unwind, it was a great location. We made day trips to Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce Canyon. Coral Pink Sand Dunes was a beautiful state park only about 30 minutes away too. I would absolutely recommend this home to friends and family.
The Zion Edge really is a wonderful retreat! Quiet, nestled in a quiet area with so much privacy. The owner thought of everything. We cooked meals and had everything we needed to do what we needed. Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Two canyons are the backdrop and were great to explore. We rested and relaxed and put host eas extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!!

About the host
Hosted by Fielding Barlow
I have lived in the Hildale/Colorado city area all my life.
Why they chose this property
It was my grandfather’s property. I bought it and always wanted to make a cool cabin/man cave/rental in the back that views the mountains.
What makes this property unique
What makes my place better than most is you are surrounded by mountains and have a great view of Canaan Mountain and I built the house/cabin to maximize your view with also real wood interior. And they plan to move the borders of Zions national park literally to my doorstep, that’s why I called it Zion edge. Also there are trailheads less than 10 minutes away.
