Weekend Family Stay

We enjoyed staying on this lovely horse property. Our small human enjoyed walking around and seeing the horses in real life. The cottage was comfortable for us and our pack and play fit in the main bedroom on the side which allowwd us to keep and eye on the small guman for naps and also get around in the room.

Perfect place for a real experience of the area!

The cottage was perfect and has everything you would need. We didn’t do any cooking as our purpose was just to sleep as our niece moved to the area. You can enjoy a bbq under the shaded tree and relax on a real horse ranch. It’s the perfect location to really get to enjoy the area with day trips. You are minutes from De Leon Springs I can’t guarantee you will get any younger but you surely will enjoy it and Sugar Mill make your own pancake experience is such a treat. Glad we found such a great spot when we need the extra space. Check it out as you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Jean for being a great host!

Amazing long weekend at Jean's cottage!

Thank you so much for being such a gracious host, Jean, I really enjoyed my stay at your cottage! Great little cottage. Everything is much greener surrounding the cottage than in the pictures and it is quite spacious with 2 bedrooms, a living room, dining/kitchen & bathroom. It's very well stocked, from cutlery, to pots and pans, plates and cups, the whole 9. Jean is also always around should you need anything. The swimming pool is right next door at the main house, with a separate entrance to the side so you can come and go as you please. What I loved most about staying at the cottage is the horses so close by. Jean's horses are very well kept, very healthy and so people friendly! And did I mention smart... I'm convinced they understood everything I said each time =) It was such a treat to visit with them every day and feed them carrots and just enjoy the company of these beautiful, loving animals. I especially enjoyed the 2 week old baby, Benvolio, still trying to figure out his legs and choppers.. too cute! Highlight of my stay was when Jean was so nice to saddle Montego up for me to ride where she trains her horses/riders. Thanks so much Jean! What a treat! Loved the location of the farm, close to everything, but still in a beautiful, peaceful country setting. De Leon State Park & Old Spanish Sugar Mill (where you get to make your own pancakes on a griddle right on your table) is about 2.5 miles away and really easy to get to. Definitely worth going to the park if you like hiking, kayaking or just want to swim in the natural spring. Beautiful setting to read a book & relax. All in all, you can't beat the price for this great value. Thanks again Jean, I'll be back. I miss my favorite, Blue Eyed Dream, already!

Quiet country stay

We had a wedding at nearby Whitewood Ranch and found this charming home. It was a sweet get away to a different Florida. The pictures are accurate and the price reasonable. I only gave 4 stars for cleanliness for small things (hair on shower wall, a used contact lens on table in living room, and lupstick stains on wine glass). All in all it was lively and comfortable.

Location was perfect

We loved being so close to the springs to catch the pancake breakfast before the crowds! Just the right size for the five of us! Girls strolled the walking trails while boys cleaned up. Easy drive to Eustis, Deltona, and New Smyrna Beach. (45 min) Jean was super nice and helpful. Our 2nd stay! Thank you!

Our stay at this cottage was great, it felt extremely homey the kids truly enjoyed it getting to walk around and see the horses and view the landscape was truly a plus. We would definitely stay here again in the future for get aways.

Did the trick!

We only stayed 1 night but it worked out great. Nice, clean, cozy place. The property is beautiful and the best part is being able to walk the property, greet and pet all the horses. It was perfect for getting us to DeLeon Springs and the Sugar Mill Pancake House the next morning. I don’t know that we will ever be back to this area but if so we will definitely look to stay here again.
