Perfect home base for a weekend of trout fishing. It was unusually warm for May, but the AC in the house worked great! Comfy beds, good water pressure in the shower. Nice quiet rural location that was still close to everything we needed.

The address for the house didn't match between the VRBO and the maps direction so at first we went to the wrong house and had to search for the right house. The upstairs was very hot and we needed all the fans running in each room to make it tolerable with no covers. We slept well after a busy day at Effigy Mounds and Spook Cave. Thank you!
A very quiet, old country home. The outside looks a bit rough, but the inside is very nice so don't let first impressions fool you. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen had most items needed. I couldn't find potholders so ended up using wash clothes to pull food out of the oven. They had lots of spices but the saltshaker was nearly empty. The main floor bedroom has no door so no privacy for whoever takes that room. Upstairs bedrooms have doors. My only concern was the front entrance. The cement steps are deteriorating and there is no railing to hold onto so going up and down the steps was a concern. There is a firepit out back but no burnable wood. Fortunately, one of my siblings brought firewood with them so we were still able to enjoy the firepit, smores, and the night sounds. It was nice but I've had better accommodations at a lesser price with no safety concerns so I can't give a 5-star review.
We loved the rural location and the beauty of the countryside. We enjoyed being close to the Mississippi, Wisconsin and Minnesota. We also enjoyed the many access areas for fishing. The house was a great place to relax after busy days!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here while we were in the area visiting family. The kitchen was well-stocked with cook/dinner-ware and the dining room had a nice big dining table so it made for a convenient location to host a family dinner. The beds were very comfortable and I really enjoyed the screened in porch. We'll likely book here again the next time we plan a visit to the Waukon area.
We love being out in the country for our weekend getaways with our family and this area was beautiful to drive through. The house was nicely furnished and very cute inside. It also had great internet! We traveled quite a few miles to do stuff and found some interesting things in the area. Had a great time!!
My family and I plus a few friends stayed at this farm oasis. What a beautiful place this was. Coming thru Waterville and up the bluff to this farmhouse was a beautiful view. This house had just about everything you would need. Very comfortable and such a great place to unwind and unplug. The stars at night are spectacular! Definitely recommend staying here!
We came to this property for a ladies retreat with eight ladies. The house is very charming and well-stocked. The beds were comfortable. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the wrap around porch and playing yard games in the big yard. The host was very responsive when we had questions. Definitely a great choice if you're looking to disconnect and getaway.
Our stay was very good overall. There was an issue with the refrigerator/freezer. When the blower fan on the freezer kicks on there is a very loud noise. If you are in the kitchen, it's hard to talk over the noise. There also was a leak in the shower upstairs that drips through the ceiling into the kitchen. We overcame these two things and overall enjoyed our six day stay.
Very clean, cute antique decor touches, surrounded by lovely hilly scenery with cornfields trees (and its not even the 4th of July and the corn was way above knee high! Very lush green this year!)Comfy beds, 1 BR on the main floor made it convenient for older folks. Big dining table for eating or playing games.(Just be careful on the front steps: no railings.)
