Casa Kafka is located in the charming town of El Pescadero, nestled between the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the Pacific Ocean. This area is known for its tranquil beaches, surf spots, and vibrant farming community.
El Pescadero is a growing destination, famous for its quality chilies, basil, mangoes, and papayas. The town has a few small shops and is expanding with more homes and businesses. It's just a short drive from the art village of Todos Santos, offering a mix of colonial-era buildings, upmarket restaurants, cafes, and galleries.
Our property is in close proximity to the Modern Elder Academy, the world's first 'midlife wisdom school,' offering a variety of workshops and programs for those navigating life transitions.
Playa Los Cerritos, one of the most popular surf spots in Mexico, is nearby. It's great for both experienced surfers and beginners, with surf schools like Mario Surf School and CRT Surf School offering lessons. The beach is also ideal for swimming and has facilities like chair and umbrella rentals, vendors selling snacks, and bathrooms.
For dining, El Pescadero is developing a reputation for its farm-to-table restaurants. Baja Beans Café is a local favorite for coffee and sweet treats, with a small artisan market and live music on Sundays. Fish Taco is known for its margaritas and fish tacos, while Dragon Burger offers American cuisine. Garden Restaurant at Rancho Pescadero offers an upscale dining experience with a menu that leans Italian, featuring wood-fired pizzas and organic meats.
If you're looking to explore the local culture, the weekly Farmer's Market at Baja Beans is a must-visit, where you can find fresh produce, handmade goods, and more.
With its blend of natural beauty, culinary delights, and cultural experiences, El Pescadero and the surrounding areas offer a unique and memorable stay for our guests at Casa Kafka.
To fully experience the beauty and attractions of El Pescadero and the surrounding areas, we strongly suggest that guests come with an SUV, especially if they plan to explore further afield.
For those considering not having a car, we would advise against it. The area is relatively remote, and having a vehicle is essential to get around, access various beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. A sedan will suffice for basic travel within the town and to nearby Todos Santos or the beach, but an SUV offers more flexibility for off-road adventures and exploring the natural landscape.
Before booking your stay at Casa Kafka, please be aware of the following:
✦ Additional Units: If you require more space, we have additional units available on the property. Whether you need an extra one or two-bedroom unit, please let us know, and we can provide you with availability details.
✦ Semi-Remote Location: Casa Kafka is located in the semi-remote area of Pescadero. Guests should be prepared for occasional power outages and unpaved roads, which are part of the local charm. We embrace the saying, "bad roads lead to good people," and have made every effort to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay.
We encourage guests to embrace the tranquility and unique beauty of Pescadero during their stay at Casa Kafka. If you have any questions or special requests, please do not hesitate to contact us.
