About this property
Cozy 2 Bdrm In Heart Of Barryville! Raft, Hike On Scenic Byway Rte 97
This rustic air-conditioned 2-Bedroom country apartment is located on the Route 97 Scenic Byway. It overlooks the Scenic Byway and is only 1 1/2 blocks to the Delaware river access for swimming and boating. This stretch of the Scenic Byway is very flat so it is easy for biking and walking along the Delaware River. Barryville is a beautiful quaint town, with hiking trails, nearby lakes, bird watching locations and Nature at its best. This location is next door to the Oasis Restaurant and taco bar, and just down the street from The new Rivers Edge Restaurant. A stones throw from the Stickett Inn coffee shop and the Barryville Emporium Antique Store. We're only 10 minutes to Pecks super market and dollar General.
A farmer's market across the street from the apt. takes place on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm May through October.
We are walking distance from rafting and kayaking on the Delaware River through Cedar Rapids Restaurant and Boating. Other activities close by include paintball and zip lining as well as a new micro-brewery down the road and the 2 River Junction Restaurant with floor to ceiling glass overlooking both the Lackawaxan and Delaware Rivers. The apt. is also just a 15-minute drive from the world-famous Kadampa Meditation Center where you can enjoy hiking on the 82 acre grounds as well as delicious home cooked vegetarian meals in their dining room for about $10 per person (when available). The apt. is also driving distance (approx. 20 minutes) to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and Museum which hosts concerts throughout the season. Bethel is the original site of the famous Woodstock Music Festival of the 60s.
Twenty-five minutes away is the town of Milford, PA which has many art galleries, restaurants, stores and interesting sites. Fifteen minutes North past the Tusten Trail Hike at 10 Mile River takes you to the quaint town of Narrowsburg, NY, which also offers some small boutique stores and restaurants. A little further up you come across Honesdale, PA which is home to the largest Salvation Army Store in the Northeast with amazing deals on used clothing and other items.
