Cottages of Live Oak, One of St. Simons Best communities is conveniently located off Demere Road, just before Beach Drive. Only a few minutes walk to the Beach or the Village Area make this cottage one of the best locations on the island. Private pool and Hot tub plus great location!!

Kahula's Cottage offers a unique Beach Bungalow style with pine floors, open and spacious rooms, and three (yes, three) porches. Enough porches and patios(5 total) so everyone can find their favorite spot to escape and relax while staying here.

The living area has plenty of seating and a very comfortable slipcovered sofa and loveseat (with full size hide a bed) and chair. A fireplace anchors the light filled room and a beautiful painting by Coastal Artist is hanging over the fireplace. Livingroom opens up to the screened in porch at the far end of the room. The screen porch and Bed Swing will become your favorite spot to relax while staying at Kahlua's Cottage. The dining room table is an antique farm table and seats six to eight. The wall color in the dining room and kitchen reminds you of the color of the Mediterranean or the Caribbean. All the windows in the dining room view the private pool and hot tub. The fully appointed kitchen boast stainless steel appliances, New gas stove, Refrigerator and unique open viewed glass cabinets above the kitchen peninsula area. There is patio off the screen porch that has a gas grill (New in 2020) and a charcoal grill plus a table and 4 chairs.

The master bedroom is on the main level and has a queen-size mattress and boxsprings. dresser and vanity table plus smart tv. The other two bedrooms are upstairs as well as the second full bath and the laundry area and sundeck. One of the upstairs bedrooms has twin beds and the other has a new (2023) queen size bed . One of the upstairs bedrooms has a small tv. There is a full size hide a bed in the loveseat. The upstairs sundeck has chairs and side tables. It is the perfect spot to enjoy the warm sunny winter days or watch the stars in the summer.

The front porch has two rockers and a porch swing and beckons you with a wonderful Blue front door. The gunite pool and hot tub are the icing on the cake for this very well appointed and relaxing cottage. Park your car when you arrive and walk to the village or beach. Or rent bikes or carts for the best rides on the island. Enjoy!

Great location and amenities

Kahlua’s Cottage is our favorite place to stay at SSI. We’ve been going there for years. The owners are great to work with and they continuously update the property. We had a lovely stay in April.

Amazing Stay

We've been coming to St. Simon's for Spring Break the last 3 years and this was by far the most enjoyable home we've stayed at. Everything was very clean, in good working order, and had all the amenities we needed for our 4 night stay. We hope this property is available next year and, if so, will be booking it again.

Wedding week

Everything was as advertised. We moved from the island 2 years ago and came back “home” for our son’s wedding. This location is great. It’s close to the beach and village area. The home is decorated very nice and has all the necessary amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Vacation

This house is fantastic. Communication with the owners before was excellent. We knew exactly what to do when we got to the house. The house was clean and beautiful. My kids and my friends’ kid loved the pool. The hot tub was relaxing as well. This house is a short walk to many playgrounds and the beach. We highly recommend this property!!

spring break 2024

Stayed at this property for spring break with my family. Communication with Beverly was outstanding. We ended up needing to stay an extra day from my own mistake and she responded within minutes to accommodate the extra day. We would defiantly stay here again. Great host.

Hi, we are the Jones. We have 3 grown children and 1 fur baby, our yellow lab named Brogan. Shelby, our oldest is married to Jessica and they have 2 children, Declan and Rosemary. They live in Dunwoody GA. Megan lives in Atlanta and Leslie lives in Houston. Mac and I live in the Virginia Highland area of Atlanta. You will be able to see when you stay at Kahlua's Cottage that we are huge Georgia Bulldog fans. We also root for Ole Miss as our daughter Leslie graduated from there. We have previously lived in Roswell GA, Houston Texas and Suwanee GA. Mac is a native Atlantan, and Beverly grew up in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta. Both Mac and Beverly have been coming to SSI since childhood.

Why they chose this property

Having grown up in Georgia, both Mac and Beverly have been coming to St Simons and the Golden Isles since they were kids. We love the quaint atmosphere of St Simons. When we found the house at Cottages of Live Oak, the floorplan was so comfortable and made for a relaxing place for us to spend time with our grown kids, and friends and family. Kahlua's Cottage has fullfilled our dream and is very much a relaxing home away from home. The pool and hottub have really been enjoyed by all, especially Brogan. The location is perfect because we can walk or ride bikes to the village area and also to the area on Ocean Dr where Crab Daddies and Beachcomber BBQ(our favorite local restaurants) are located. We really enjoy walking Kahlua to the beach in the afternoon and sit on one of the pocket beaches (1/4 mile from Kahlua's) and watch the ships come in and out of the Brunswick Harbor. If we want to spend a day at the beach we usually go to the Coast Guard Station near East Beach and park there. The beach stays good there all day long(about 1/2 mile from Kahlua's). We also loved all the porches that Kahlua's Cottage has, the front porch, the screened porch and the top porch upstairs. It is a perfect day when we can sit in the rockers on the front porch and drink coffee, then ride bikes to lunch somewhere on the island, then go sit on the beach in the afternoon and watch the ships come in and out and then finish up by walking to Crap Daddy's for dinner. Then back home for one more stroll to the beach with Brogan. He loves being able to run on the beach by moonlight.

What makes this property unique

Great Location for getting to Village, Beach, and other areas of the Island!! Private pool and hot tub, and best porches around!!!!!The kitchen is stocked better than my kitchen at home!!!Check to see what the tide is doing before you leave the house, which is important since the beaches closer to the village tend to disappear during high tide, but the beaches towards East Beach are always good!
