About this property
Little Acadia Cabin & Lakefront, charming cabin with beach and lake access
Every summer for more than a century, the Acadia National Park region in Downeast Maine has attracted many thousands of tourists. They come for the fresh air, clean water, spectacular natural beauty and a chance to get away from it all. Our log home and freshwater beachfront property, known as Little Acadia, offers all of that and more — without the crowds! Here you will find a secluded, private setting, with your own welcoming stretch of fine sand beach.
Come visit our little corner of heaven, just north of Frenchman Bay and several miles down a country road, where we have some of the cleanest freshwater lakes in Maine. Come enjoy loons serenading you off of your deck, miles and miles of hiking trails up to mountaintops with boundless vistas, thousands of acres of protected forestland, swimming and kayaking in sparkling lakes, and technicolor sunsets. This is the perfect place for a peaceful family vacation, a trip with friends or a romantic getaway in the midst of timeless beauty.
Our log home offers three bedrooms, a generous kitchen, a dining area, an impressive stone fireplace, and an expansive wood deck with stunning views of the Little Tunk Pond and Schoodic Mountain. We have high-speed wireless internet, a full supply of linens and towels, and kayaks, canoes and bicycles available nearby for rental.
While our cabin offers you the great outdoors, civilization is just a short drive away. The towns of Sullivan, Hancock and Winter Harbor are havens for local artists, with a good supply of smaller stores. There is an outstanding local winery in Gouldsboro. A full shopping district is just 25 minutes away in the county seat of Ellsworth. The Schoodic District of Acadia National Park, with its bold saltwater coast, is about a 25 minute drive, with Bar Harbor about 45 minutes away. And the city of Bangor, with its major international airport, is just a little more than a hour to the west. With connections to major air hubs, you can leave home from just about anywhere in North America in the morning and be resting comfortably at Little Acadia that night. Come and see for yourself. We think you'll agree that this is an exceptional little place on the planet.
WiFi: We now have super high-speed internet via Starlink, which supports video conferencing and streaming on multiple devices.
Black Fly Season: Mid-May through mid-June is known as “Black Fly Season” in Maine. While it varies year to year, please be aware that we are located in the woods and black flies may be worse during those times.
