About this property
Bright 1BD in Charles Village, Minutes from Hopkins
Welcome to our Charles Village apartments!
* Features *
In our spacious 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment on the main floor of a 3 unit building, we've created a comfortable space that works beautifully for visiting professors, Hopkins grad students or JHU families, and anyone working remotely who wants to experience Baltimore.
The apartment has a queen bedroom, updated kitchen and bathroom, plus a surprisingly roomy pantry for all your groceries and supplies. The living room has a Roku set up for your streaming accounts, reliable Wi-Fi, and a small collection of books and magazines we've gathered over the years.
The basement has a washer and dryer that you're welcome to use whenever you need - note that it is shared with the other guests in the building. It is accessed from the shared, fenced-in backyard.
* Getting Around *
We're genuinely walkable here. Johns Hopkins is just a few minutes on foot, and the free JHU shuttle stop is one block away - it'll take you to Penn Station, Mt. Vernon, and the Hopkins campuses in East Baltimore.
* Neighborhood *
Everything you need close by: St. Paul Street's shops and restaurants including CVS Pharmacy, the year-round Waverly Farmers Market (aka 32nd Street Farmers Market), the Baltimore Museum of Art (free admission!), plus Safeway and Giant for groceries. Penn Station, Mt. Vernon, the Inner Harbor, and Camden Yards are all under 10 minutes by car or transit. Hampden's quirky shops, cafes, bars and restaurants are a 7 minutes car ride away.
* Parking *
Parking is available for an additional fee if you're bringing a car - helpful for longer stays or exploring beyond the neighborhood.
The row home itself has that classic Baltimore character with tall windows that let in beautiful natural light. It's a real home, not a sterile rental, and we think you'll feel that.
We look forward to hosting you!

About the host
Hosted by Jamaica Bryant
We're a 5th generation Baltimore family who's lived all over the city and surrounding areas. Every property we rent is one our family has actually lived in—we know these places inside and out because they've been our homes. We love hosting visiting academics, Hopkins folks, and anyone discovering (or rediscovering) Baltimore. When we're not managing rentals, we're traveling, cooking, tasting wine, or out on the tennis and pickleball courts. We get the excitement of exploring new places, and we bring that energy to helping our guests experience Baltimore.
Why they chose this property
Charles Village sits right in Baltimore's cultural heart. You can walk to Hopkins, the BMA, and dozens of cafes and shops on St. Paul Street. The 32nd Street Farmers Market runs year-round. We chose this building because the row home architecture is classic Baltimore (tall windows, good bones, real character) and the location makes car-free living possible if that's your preference. That said, we have a parking pad in back for anyone who needs a spot (note additional fee). You're close to everything.
What makes this property unique
This is a home we've lived in, not a sterile rental. You'll see that in the kitchen setup, the book collection, the way rooms flow. It's colorful, comfortable, and feels like staying at a friend's place. The free basement laundry and fenced backyard are bonuses. Plus, our family knows Baltimore inside and out (we're happy to point you toward the good stuff locals actually go to).
