1.5 Bl. to Beach, 6BR/5Ba (4 Master Bedrooms), OceanSide

Four Master Bedrooms!! Min-y-Mor, which means 'Edge of the Sea' in Welsh, is located in the Town of Bethany Beach, 1.5 blocks from the beach and 4 blocks to the town's local shops.

With six bedrooms (including four master suites), five full baths and privacy for all family members, Min-y-Mor is perfect for a large family or multi-family vacation.

The main floor of the house is elevated and includes a family room with a TV and seating for nine, a dining area and a kitchen. The sun room, with skylights, is located just off the dining/living area; it has sofa seating for five plus an eating/game table which seats four. Ten foot high glass doors between the family room/dining area and sun room may be left open, or closed to provide a quiet refuge. The sun room also has a TV/DVD, where Dad can enjoy sports events or a book, or children can enjoy cartoons while adults watch TV or videos in the living room. Three additional TVs are located in the main-level master suite, the ground-level master suite bedroom and sitting room.

Up the spiral stairway to the third floor is a reading nook (off the bedroom area) with chairs overlooking the family room below. A video and paperback book library near the reading nook has something to hold the interest of adults and children alike. Children also enjoy the reading nook as their personal perch to observe activities in the living room below.

The ground level master suite with king bed is the epitome of privacy, with a separate sitting room, a full bath and your choice of private entrance or entrance from the main floor.

The main floor has the following bedrooms: Grand master suite with king bed and en suite bath, bedroom with queen bed and en suite bath; queen bedroom and a full bedroom (both served by a full hall bath). The large third floor suite has a king and two single beds (trundled) with en suite bath.

Baths are 'senior friendly' with grab bars and raised toilets in master bathrooms. However home is not handicapped accessible.

New for 2023: We provide sheets and bath towels (bring your own beech towels) for all rentals of seven or more days.

Great location on quiet street

Plenty of room to spread out and each room has its own bath (didn’t use one bedroom). Well-stocked with cleaning products and kitchen essentials. Everything is within walking distance - didn’t need a car at all.

We stayed at this Bethany Beach home from July 10–17 and overall had a great experience. The size of the house was perfect for our group, and the rooms with attached bathrooms were especially convenient and comfortable. The location couldn’t be better, with an easy walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants.One of the biggest highlights was the included beach cabana service—having two umbrellas and six chairs set up for us each day made our beach time so much easier and more enjoyable.The home itself is decorated with care and has a welcoming feel. That said, the home has deferred maintenance that's overdue and it could benefit from a bit more thorough cleaning and quality checks between guests, as we noticed a few areas that needed attention.Overall, it’s a charming home in a fantastic location, and with a little more attention to detail on the cleaning side, it would be an excellent stay for any family visiting Bethany Beach, DE.

Bethany beach vacation

This property needs a serious overhaul. I know others have said it’s great but the furniture is worn, bathrooms need updating, we needed a high chair which they said they had but the wasn’t one. Also didn’t have the wagon. We really needed the beach butler service which was advertised but they only have this service until Labor Day. We were there the week after. We were coming from Arizona and Minnesota so we couldn’t bring chairs etc with us. The mattress need to be replaced especially the one in the loft. There were ants all over the kitchen counters.

This is a spacious, comfortable, well lived-in and well-loved property. We had some minor issues such as the fact that the steps and the shower presented a bit of a challenge for one of my friends who has a disability. Also, we were very disappointed to learn after we booked that unlike any of the other homes I’ve rented, the check-in isn’t until 6:00 p.m. However, at the end of the day, the location was perfect and trumped minor issues we may have had.

Our check in/ out policy is different from most rentals! Our guests check in Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and are able to enjoy the beach over the weekend, while all the other rental guests sit in traffic. However, our guests may use our Beach Butler service (6 chairs + 2 umbrellas set up for you by a beach vendor) before check in. Our check out Friday at 1:00 p.m. (rather than 10 a.m like most other rentals) allows everyone to sleep late and then depart leisurely.

A Perfect Beach House!

We loved everything about this house. We were greeted with clean and well-appointed accommodations, including kitchen essentials. The house was lovely without being fussy, and was very large. We had over 12 adults staying at the house and there was plenty of room for us to be together...and enough space for quiet book reading. It was a rainy weekend, so we weren't able to use the large multiple decks, but we certainly enjoyed the sunroom. Plenty of parking, too!!! We can't wait to stay there again.

Family Reunion Vacation 2021

The house offered many extras - Beach butler service with 2 umbrellas and 6 chairs, plus bikes for use during our stay and a cart to pull other beach items back and forth to the beach. House could have been cleaner. Types of beds in listing and in welcome packet need to be updated, this caused us a problem when renting linen. Windows in attic bedroom had handles removed - major safety concern. Only access to attic bedroom is spiral staircase, which makes it difficult to get up and down for adults. Owner very responsive to all questions and concerns.

We loved our stay here, the house was full of extras and made our visit super easy. The beach butler chair service was a giant bonus. We were able to walk to the beach with a sand bucket and towel and not have to worry about anything else all week. We would definitely come back!

Great Bethany Location

The house is excellent, but the location is great. I only had to use my car to go pick up crabs. I biked to the beach( the bike rack sometimes got very crowded) and either biked or walked to downtown Bethany. I was even able to bike to get donuts ( too bad the bakery in Bethany is closed). I really appreciated the complimentary beach chairs and umbrella - that made biking to the beach possible. I do wish that the check out times were clearer - they are different on the contract and the notice at the house.

Min-y-Mor has been outfitted as a family beach house so that when vacationing in Bethany Beach, your family will be as comfortable as our family is when we are together. The house was enlarged and modernized in 2005 to make room for our 7 grandchildren. We have been vacationing in Bethany Beach for more than 30 years. Our daughter, Kathleen, assists us with the rentals and our son Tom handles the maintenance!

Why they chose this property

We chose to purchase a home in Bethany Beach because it was a small family-friendly town where we felt safe letting our teenagers roam. Although the years have passed, Bethany has retained the same small-town aura. In the early 1900s Bethany Beach was a religious camp and many of the family values are still reflected today (no smoking or drinking on the beach, no wild dance clubs in town, etc.). The Town of Bethany has restricted parking for non-residents (staying at Min-y-Mor, you are a town resident), which makes the beaches less crowded than other beach areas. We love the fact that we can walk to town as a family, have an ice cream, bring the kids to the playground and then enjoy the music at the town bandstand. With the busier and more crowded resorts of Ocean City (10 miles south) and Rehoboth (10 miles north) the action is still close. We expanded and updated the original house to ensure comfort for multiple families.

What makes this property unique

With three separate decks, all members of the family can find the perfect place to relax. On the main level is an outdoor deck with seating for six. A second larger deck, tucked behind the house and among the shade trees, provides a private refuge, with a grill, 2 large dining tables and a lounge chair. On the rear second level is a small, hidden sun deck with two Adirondack chairs, allowing Mom to escape with a good book or for a romantic spot to enjoy drinks after a busy beach day.

Amenities at Min-y-Mor abound. Enjoy the luxury of wandering to the beach with only a towel in your hand: Six beach chairs and two umbrella will be set up for you on the beach and removed for you at the end of the day. Six more chairs and an additional umbrella are available at the house, as well as bikes, boogie boards, and a variety of sand toys. A box of children's toys and a child booster seat (suitable for a youngster recently out of the crib) are also provided for the comfort of your family.
