The pictures really don’t do this place justice! The property is so beautiful and extremely quiet and private. We loved it! One of the beds is very firm, which might not be to everyone’s taste, but overall a very comfortable and lovely stay.

We love this beautiful spot and inviting home! The views, trail walks on the property and general vibe are outstanding. We've been guests for two years in a row and are eager to plan the next visit. If you are a birder, appreciate wildlife and tranquility, this place checks every box.

Beautiful location with gorgeous views. I’ve never seen so many stars at night. Given the altitude, the room stayed cool at night (fans only). A highlight is sitting on the deck for morning coffee and enjoying the views. WiFi even works on the deck if you need to use a laptop to do some work.

Serenity personified! Living in Manhattan, we needed a peaceful, quiet getaway in nature. The sounds of silence are wonderful! Relaxing in body, mind and spirit. Everything you need to feel like it’s your very own home is in this beautiful country house. Swimming in the pond was delightful. My dog was in seventh heaven being off leash and free to run around the property. This was one of the best vacations ever. Definitely want to come back next year for a longer stay!

Beautiful scenery! Perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of our normal working days. The hilly terrain was the perfect PT for our dog that had knee surgery last month. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed watching all the wildlife from the porch-barn swallows, deer, woodchuck, chipmunks, skunk and we heard couple owls-it was like home away from home.

What a great escape! We were visiting to see our daughter at a nearby theater camp. The property was a fantastic retreat! My husband and I have never talked so long in the morning over coffee. The front porch in the morning was perfect. Thank you for sharing your special space with us.

If you like country, if you like rustic, and if you like mountain views that go on forever, this is the place!The wrap-around porch is wonderful! The pond is full of hungry bass ( catch and release so the next guy can catch one). The walk down to the pond can be a bit challenging as the pathway needs a bit of work.The roosters crowing in the morning, the deer grazing, and the never-ending mountain views alone are worth the price.

Alistair's place is beautiful and sitting on the porch this morning as the sun rose over the valley from the high point of his Mountain View was a little bit of heaven. It was so peaceful. The house is great, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with a coffee maker! I only wish VRBO would make it easier to communicate with the host as I had to log in every time I asked a question or viewed a response. It's not a show stopper but VRBO should work up a way to text message a host without the log in details every time. Alistair was quick with a response and always answered! Wish we were still on his front porch.

Peaceful & Comfortable

This was our second time staying here and we loved just as much as the first time. The property looks just like the pictures except the veranda flooring has been replaced and is even better now. It is such a peaceful property and we look forward to coming back!

This is by far one of the nicest and most beautiful homes I have rented. The house is so well kept and decorated and has anything you may need! The property is breathtaking and very quiet except for the bird and animal calls. If you are looking to get some peace and quiet this is your place.

Gorgeous property with a very responsive host and well-maintained spaces. Rooms were clean and very tidy, kitchen was well-stocked with cooking materials, and the house itself was lovely - great furniture and decor. The location is also great as it is not too far from hiking trails and towns like Ellenville/Woodstock. We could not have found a better spot for a weekend getaway. 5/5.

Wish we had more time to spend here!

Alastair’s property is vast, beautifully groomed, and chock full of birds and other wildlife. The little swimming pond was a great bonus. On top of that, the home is very comfortable and well-appointed. We made good use of the porch, dining room, and living room in equal measure, and enjoyed cooking on the grill a couple of times during our 4-night stay. Thank you for a lovely getaway!

A gem in the mountains

Great experience, absolutely spotless clean. Beautiful old farmhouse carefully renovated with modern facilities including kitchen and bath while maintaining the original farmhouse feel and look. Perfect for quiet getaway and offering awesome views in any direction.

Warm and thoughtfully designed home on a beautifully landscaped land. There are so many places to sit all over the property to admire the views and watch the wildlife. Beautiful, Relaxing Property

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, the property had mowed walking paths for easy exploring, and the wildlife was absolutely amazing. We saw deer on the property everyday, there were beautiful birds, adorable little chipmunks and the views were stunning. It was a very comfortable, serene place to stay. The host was very timely with his responses to any questions we had and was very easy to deal with. We will stay here again for sure!

Beautiful property

I enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the beautiful views all around the property. My children had a great time floating and swimming in the pond. The location is very convenient. The town of Liberty is only about 15 minutes away and has a large Shoprite. The house was very clean and neat with an authentic rustic vibe.

We had a wonderful four-day family vacation at this property. The house was clean, well-kept, and very comfortable. The setting is beautiful, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature.Our host was very responsive and made everything easy. We came with our two- and four-year-old children, and they absolutely loved exploring. They enjoyed walking around the property, sitting by the pond to watch the wildlife, spotting baby turtles in the water, deer passing by, and chipmunks running around.This home was the perfect mix of comfort and nature, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!
