In addition Ian has also become active as a sound engineer with various musical groups including society bands, Latino groups, Jewish orchestras, and opera productions. Ian is very handy and fixed up the old barn in the back of the property and made it into an instrument repair business. Currently, Ian and his daughter live in Florida and commute back to Ohio most weekends.
Ian purchased this Farmhouse in 2000
Why Ian chose Tallmadge
I was not looking for a home when I bought this property. As a child I grew up on a dairy farm in the country and this property immediately made me feel totally at home while still being very conveniently located. I fell in love at first sight. I immediately put my previous home up for sale in the city of Akron and bought this property.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
***NOTE pictures of an enclosed patio with an indoor BBQ that is built into the chimney. Charcoal, not gas. All surrounding properties are larger lots and were part of the original farm this house was part of. The house sits back from the road and the area is full of large oak and maple trees that give it a very established beautiful environment. The original house on this farm was built in 1826 and is across from this house. The original family built my house in 1895 and I am only the third owner of this house since it was built. The 1826 house was part of the Underground Railroad, and my house was built for possible use for that purpose also, but since the Civil War was recently over at the time very little, if any use was made of if for that purpose.
