Our family had a wonderful, relaxing stay. We enjoyed everything the property had to offer; from swinging on the porch swing to fishing from the dock. We look forward to our next stay at this cozy cabin.
Stayed 3 nights for my husband's birthday the second week of October. The cabin and property were better than expected and communication with Susan was a pleasure! We had such and enjoyable time relaxing, fishing, and just enjoying the river views and surroundings. Already looking forward to our next stay!
Beautiful Property! Right on the river. Very relaxing and peaceful space. Susan was a great host! She was very responsive and quick to help with anything we needed or any questions we had. We definitely be back for a longer stay. This cabin was perfect for our long weekend.
The place is amazing, clean, remote, rustic and modern. The pictures and description do not give justice to this place. One of, if not the best place I've had the pleasure to experience on VRBO.
The cabin was beautiful with so many creative details. The spot by the river was wonderful. The swing at that location was perfectly positioned to look up the river. It was all perfect.
Love the privacy of this property. Came down to do some fishing, its a bit of a drive to the saltwater for fishing but the route is rural and virtually free of traffic. This property is a great option if youre looking to get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit. Huge yard area and no neighbors.

The cabin and property are so beautiful!
The cabin and surrounding property are peaceful and beautiful, the pictures don't do justice! We had a fantastic time and definitely plan a return trip in the near future. Our dogs enjoyed running and playing in the large yard area and my daughter absolutely loved playing in the outside bathtub! Overall, we had a fantastic experience!!

Wonderful!!
This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay -- a large property right on the river, no noticeable neighbors, and even a fish-cleaning station! The house is beautiful, with lovely furnishings, and spotlessly clean! The owner is very helpful and nice. We would definitely come back!

Cannot wait to go back
The pictures do not do this home and location justice. Nice and secluded. You can tell the owners take pride in this property. Extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Perfect for rest and relaxation. If you love privacy and room to explore you will not be disappointed. Next time we plan to spend longer than two nights.

Perfect Getaway
My husband and I spent two wonderful nights here. It was very secluded and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities that you would need. We ate most of our meals on the porch so we could enjoy the view of the river. There is also a lot to enjoy outside...swings, an outside shelter with tables, a grill and also a fire pit (it was too warm to use this trip). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a place to get away from it all.

Thank you for taking such great care of the cabin.
Neat, clean and quiet. Even though the old pines got swept away by hurricane Michael in 2017 the place is still as wonderful as it was the first time we came. Just a beautiful setting of the river and a cabin. The only thing I might change would be the mattress on the downstairs bed. Lol.

Hello,
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay even though the beautiful trees have been destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
The location was remote and private and that was exactly what we were looking for, away from civilization to enjoy some relaxation. The cabin was uniquely decorated with antique furniture, so adorable. We fished the river and enjoyed swinging. There are some towns close buy for shopping. Excellent trip!
Perfect for 4 fishermen to grill and chill. The house is roomy and open and the photos represent it accurately. While too warm for a fire, the fire pit is huge! The picnic shelter is welcome shade. If you want a quiet, peaceful, well equipped riverfront vacation rental, this is it!
Everything about this stay was exceptional! The location is perfect for a secluded river getaway. The property and cabin are full of personal touches that make the experience extra enjoyable. Susan is an excellent host and had great information to share. We had clear communication and quick responses. We are looking forward to coming back!
We absolutely enjoyed every hour of every day we stayed at this beautiful cabin. We needed a long weekend of solitude and we got exactly that. Beautiful cabin and peaceful atmosphere, all that we needed. I can't wait to go back!

About the host
Hosted by Susan Warren
Hey, I'm Susan. I have been an elementary school teacher for 31 years. I have traveled with my son to Europe and had some great experiences in Germany, Sweden, Austria, Finland, and the Aland Islands. I enjoy facebook and keeping with the latest trends and friends.
Why they chose this property
This log cabin is unique because every log was harvested locally and put together by hand. It is situated on the beautiful Chipola River near the Dead Lakes. This is some of the best fishing area in the world. It is surrounded by a forest with a variety of trees and wildlife. It is not unusual to to see deer, wild turkeys, owls, and a quail families nearby. Some of the trees are over 100 feet tall filled with birds native to this region.
What makes this property unique
It is uncommon to find such an abundance and variety of wildlife in one area. The house has a wrap around porch and is within 50 feet of the Chipola River. There are steps leading down to the boat dock on the river where kayaking and fishing are popular.
