About this property
Come stay at this darling cozy cottage right on the creek.
If you’re coming through Sheridan, grab this chance to stay in an updated and inviting riverside cottage on Big Goose Creek. If you’re traveling solo or with a few others, this property offers a quiet, park-like, private setting. It is centrally located in the community situated two blocks from Kendrick Park and six blocks from downtown.
It has the feel of a more rural setting, thanks to the many large trees on the banks of Big Goose Creek, which runs right through the back yard--about 15 feet out the back door.
When you first come inside, you are greeted by a sunbathed living room decorated with vibrant furniture arranged around the bay window. There are a few books and pamphlets about the area in the hutch across the room . The living room is the heart of this rental, spanning approximately 14X18 feet. The sliding glass door at the end goes straight to the adjacent deck.
The u-shaped kitchen area is fully equipped with the appliances and utensils you need to whip up a home-cooked meal while you’re on the road. Meals can be taken at the high-top table in the kitchen, which has large windows on two sides that overlook the creek. If you have a few guests, the dining area at the far end of the living room can extend out to seat six people. The deck over the creek is nice for a morning cup of coffee, or drinks, dinner, in the company of ducks or late night conversations.
Looking back toward the inside of the house from the breakfast corner, you’ll see a narrow hallway. The doorways are precisely 24 inches wide, the walls 30".
The kitchen and bathroom are newly remodeled for comfort and space efficiency. You’ll find new windows through the main floor of the house.
The compact bathroom is stocked with a starter supply of toiletries. The showerhead is fitted with a chlorine filter, so you might notice improved hair and skin health after a few rinses.
The bedroom is set up with comfort and convenience in mind. Jet-setters and globetrotters will find the staple suitcase stand, dresser, chair, bathrobe, iron and board. If you get cold there is an extra blanket in the closet. If you get warm there will be an air conditioner in the window. These are installed only when outside temperatures are high. In the summer this part of Wyoming has a slight breeze that makes for cool nights that are more appreciated when windows are open at night and closed during the day.
The bedroom in the basement is very cozy, cool in summer warm in winter. On-site laundry is also in the basement.
The upper level of this house has a small apartment. If there is a renter there, you may hear them going up and down the stairs.
The owner hopes you have the best possible stay. Your feedback in the Welcome Book. The house is always a work in progress. Your comments and participation. are
much appreciated.

About the host
Hosted by Tracee Davis

I am one of few who was born and raised in Sheridan Wyoming. I enjoy tending to properties and guests.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because this block of houses backs right up to one of the main creeks that go through town. The other major feature is the location. One can walk to the PO, the grocery, the theaters, restaurants, parks, schools and downtown is only 6 blocks away. It is on the Sheridan Pathway Trails system so one can walk most anywhere away from cars.
What makes this property unique
It was built in 1936 when this area of town was still mostly rural. It is small, only 1500 sf total, designed in the standard architectural vernacular of the neighborhood. It stands out as the "cutest little house in town" due to the fact that is has a large side yard next to the creek, is white with a red roof in the midst of muted colored houses and it has had a white porch swing, Once inside and after one has peeked all around the first comment they make is, "I want to live here."
