Weekend getaway trip for a birthday trip.VRBO never allowed the check in info to get to me but I called and Josh was so helpful and made sure to email it to me. Everything from there was great! The house was quaint and perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed dinner at The Lodge where everyone was friendly and helpful. The hot tub was a perfect after a long day of hiking and the fireplace was wonderful on the cold nights. Definitely recommend!
love the location and quiet of this lovely little cabin nestled close to Shenandoah NP.

Exactly what we were looking for
Our family wanted to drive through all of Shenandoah over 2 days and were looking for a place to stay that was close to the swift run gap entrance. The Humble Bee fit the bill and was perfect for us. It was clean, cozy, and private. The dartboard, ping pong table, and hot tub were nice additions and we had fun using those. The cabin had everything we needed for a few days stay and the stocked coffee bar items were much appreciated!
Cabin was tidy, modern, and just right. Remotely located down narrow paved roads, easy to find. 5 stars all around.

Great place near Shenandoah
Cute clean little cabin. Our boys loved having the lower level to themselves. Had some spiders and bugs, but it's that time of year so we weren't too put off. Short drive to the park entrance. Hot tub was a major plus after long hikes.

Great weekend
Overall we had a great stay. Super cozy accommodations and the recent snow made it even cozier. Great location close to a few restaurants and the town of Standardsville. One odd thing occurred early morning on check out day that left us uneasy, a maintenance man (I assume) just walked right into our cabin without knocking saying he was there to look at the hot tub. I had just gotten out of the shower and dressed 10 minutes prior, so his timing could have been very bad. It was alarming and very, very odd he just burst right in. I recommend better communication from staff to guests. Otherwise, we enjoyed the cabin and surrounding location.

Hidden Gem
I found a sister cabin on VRBO. That listing led to the Lydia mountain site, and I'm sure glad I checked. This place was amazing. The price was just in my range. The house was super easy to find. Apple Maps led me right to the front door. Upon arriving, we discovered that the photos do not do this place justice. The cabin is larger than the photos depict. We bought some groceries for our 3 night stay, but never used the, We ended up at the lodge for most meals. Super good food and so close to the cabin. No less than 2x a day we enjoyed the 2 person hot tub on the back deck. I will for sure be staying here again when coming back to the VA area.

Very nice visit
The only negative comment about our stay would be the outdoor/deck space. Furniture was a little old. One chair was unusable. Maybe the housecleaning staff could do a quick wipe down of the outdoor furniture in-between visitors. We loved our visit and will be back!

Good trip
Over all, my stay was great! The cabin was a little dusty, but it wasn't bad enough to impede my visit.
The hot tub I believe had too much chlorine because it did burn my skin a bit which hasn't happened before, but that was the only thing I was disappointed with. We did love the location and cabin and had a great trip!

Relaxing and rejuvenating
Lovely and quiet setting for a peaceful getaway. Cabin was spotless and well-appointed and very comfortable. We appreciated being able to bring our Golden Retriever who loved watching the birds off the back deck. Joshua at the Lodge was very helpful with a check in situation and made amends quickly and beyond expectation. We’ll be back for sure when we need to get away from it all again!

Overall great & peaceful weekend
Overall, we had a great weekend spent together at Humble Bee. Bear Appetit restaurant was fabulous! We enjoyed the views, hot tub, & the games set up downstairs in our cabin. Since we paid a cleaning fee, we were surprised to find out the day before leaving, that we needed to take our trash with us, strip the bedding & place all linens in the shower, & put our dishes in the dishwasher (and start the dishwasher) before we left. The chairs on our deck outside were both broken. Other than that, it was very peaceful & relaxing. We will “bee” back!
We enjoyed the cabin very much. Large deck with hot tub was lovely -- and covered portion was perfect for enjoying a rainy day. Inside was small but had everything we needed. Easy walk to the lodge and shady road for dog walking. Great views nearby. Enjoyed having second bath and living space; spiral staircase is steep. Short drive to a couple of restaurants. Overall, it was great and we plan to come again with our kiddo!

Quiet Retreat
Stayed here for two nights. It’s very cozy and quiet. The disappointment was that I chose this cabin because of the hot tub, but the management didn’t inform me it had just been cleaned and would take two nights to heat up. We only got to use it in the morning right before leaving. That was a big bummer and I would have liked the option to cancel or be discounted.
Also, be mindful of the spiral stairwell! Steps are narrow and incline is steep. We went outside and around to get in.
Otherwise, it’s a nice escape for a short getaway. Good walking paths and nice views by the lodge.

Humble Bee Review
We very much enjoyed our stay but want to make you aware of the following maintenance needs: We were disappointed that the hot tub would not heat and was unusable. The power outlet in the main bathroom was dead. The front porch light was also dead or burned out. You should also check the main bathroom sink as it is draining slowly. Hopefully these will be fixed before the next guests stay there.

An absolute delight!
My partner and I recently stayed in the Humble Bee for a long weekend with our dogs. We've stayed in a great many cabins all over the country and this instantly became one of our favorites. The place was spotless when we arrived, and the pictures absolutely don't do it justice - it is so nice and cute and cozy. The cabin was the perfect basecamp for bopping around Shenandoah National Park, but also perfectly equipped for some relaxing downtime with one another in front of the woodstove. The hot tub was wonderful also! Our only regret was not staying longer! Neither one of us nor our dogs wanted to leave and we're already talking about coming back.
Pro Tip - turn the hot tub first thing when you arrive so it has time to heat up :)

We came up for a two night stay. The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. The food at the resort restaurant was excellent. It was a wonderful weekend getaway. Definitely be back, especially in the fall:)
