About this property

The Pine Cottage. Waterfront. Close to Acadia National Park. Quaint. Cozy.

On the 'quietside' Mount Desert Island, close to busy Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, the Pine Cottage faces Blue Hill Bay and Swans Island. It has a screened-in porch with panoramic views of Bass Harbor and the setting sun. This cottage has an electric fireplace, skylight living area, flat-screen Roku television, shower bath and full modern kitchen. The Pine Cottage has two bedrooms, one with a firm queen bed and bottom up light-filtering shades and westerly views of upper Bass Harbor. The other bedroom has one double/full bed. There is electric heat in the living area, bedrooms and bathroom. Launch your kayaks with the tide and store them in your parking area. Bring your laptop for free high speed wifi.

The kitchen is fully-equipped with 'the basics' including pots and pans, dinnerware, table service and utensils, a drip coffee maker, microwave, new dishwasher, new refrigerator and a toaster as well as a pot large enough to boil (steam) two lobsters. Please bring your own spices, condiments and cooking oil, kitchen knives, wok, tea kettle, electric fry pan, garlic press, salad spinner, chopsticks and bakeware (cookie sheets, brownie or bread pans).

Bass Harbor is working waterfront and you will see the tide come and go. You will hear the lobster boats when they leave early in the morning, as well as songbirds, seagulls, road noise and neighborhood construction. There are benches at the shore to watch the boats and birds.

**We are a drive-to location on Bass Harbor. We provide bed and bath linen (3 towels, washcloths per person, bath mat). A ’starter set’ of toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, sponge and brillo is provided. Your EV may be charged at the Town of Tremont Town Office, less than 1/2 mile away.

The Bass Harbor Cottages are available for the private and exclusive enjoyment of our registered guests - please do not invite others to join you here. Security cameras are in parking areas, office and grounds. We live on-site and are available throughout your stay. Two person maximum occupancy, including children and the 'little ones'. Please present your MasterCard/Visa and photo ID at check-in for additional cleaning/security, as needed.

Check in after 4pm. Check out by 11 am. Please take extra trash and left-over food stuffs to the dumpster behind the small garage opposite the office and return keys to the key drop next to the office door.

We observe 'Quiet Hours' from 9 pm to 9 am. No pets, smoking, drones and/or outdoor cooking, including grilling and BBQ in our accommodations and on the premises. Our accommodations have maximum occupancy, including children and the 'little ones’, in accordance with our license from the State of Maine. The way life should be...a perfect Maine break....
One goes to Maine for a different pace, a different feeling from the rat race...we had a lovely stay in a great little cabin on the harbor....felt like a trip to the 1950's. How lovely and relaxing...great spot away from the crowds and commercialism of Bar Harbor....great price too....DO NOT RESERVE THIS PROPERTY....we want it to be our little secret place!
