About this property

Plazamar is located in Zona Romantica, the best location in Old Town Puerto Vallarta on Los Muertos Beach. The malecon starts right outside the door - downtown is a 10 minute walk.

Plazamar is a privately-owned and operated condominium within walking distance of all services; unique restaurants, sidewalk cafes, shops, internet cafes, ATM machines, grocery stores, spas, water activities, gym, etc. There is abundant nightlife within a few blocks, but you'd never know it from inside the condo. It is very quiet and peaceful. The building is on a no-through road so there is no traffic noise either. 24/7 management and security..

Cleaning service is included three times a week unless otherwise specified by the guest. Your tip for our cleaning staff is much appreciated.

Our condo is a recently renovated and tastefully decorated one-bedroom condo with living room, fully-equipped kitchen and balcony offering mountain and ocean views. The bedroom sleeps two adults with additional sleeping accommodation in the living room on comfortable built-in sofas for two more people (note that one sofa is a shorter loveseat size). It is ideal for a couple or a family with up to two children and includes a high chair and portable crib for families with infants. The balcony and roof top at Plazamar both offer breathtaking views of the ocean and the town. There is a private heated pool on the roof with a BBQ and fridge.

Plaza Mar fun

As usual we enjoyed our stay at this condo. Plaza Mar’s location is great and this condo looks out on the park with a side view of the ocean. Very nice.

Amazing! Pros vs Cons summary

The building is in a wonderful location to be near the ocean, eventful park, beautiful artwork, and bumpin nightlife. The decor is authentic Mexican and beautiful. It’s not super modern and that’s part of the charm! It is noisy from the balcony, but we were able to sleep with all doors open as the bedroom is in the back of the unit and we don’t mind waking up early. I loved joining the 8am Zumba class right below in the park. It’s a great spot for people watching at all hours! Lots of restaurants, coffee, shopping, etc nearby. The Saturday Market in the park is busy! The front office staff were friendly and helpful. They are there 24/7 and make a point to be familiar with you. There was some discrepancies between the owner and front desk’s information (i.e. if letter can be digital or printed, cleaning schedule, deposit for key, and recommended tips, etc) but none of those things are major and were easily workable! If I was asked what is a simple matter that could help improve our stay- I’d suggest replacing the towels and linens. The towels are stained and very old, as well as the sheets are stained. They are clean, just in very used condition. The towels were not replaced after the first clean (day 3) but the housekeeping quickly fixed that. The shower does drain slow and the pipes are old and rattling but the pressure is wonderful! We noticed the bedroom safe was without directions so we emailed the owner who replied it needs replaced. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons!

Comfortable, but needs updating. A few tiles missing from kitchen counter and the cushions on the couches in living room need to be thicker, rather uncomfortable. Has a problem with ants, even though the apt was sprayed the second day we arrived. There are positives- great shower and lovely rooftop terrace. The gentlemen manning the front desk are very helpful and pleasant. Location is great, too.

Fabulous location.

The view over the park was exceptional. The staff was all friendly and helpful and the view from the rooftop pool ….so wonderful

We are a Mexican/Canadian family which purchased this condo in 1989 during the pre-sale prior to construction. Our bi-cultural family began in Puerto Vallarta at the time of the filming of the movie "The Night of the Iguana" in the early 60's.
