Lovely cottage

Woodsy Cottage was just what we were looking for. During our 6 week stay we were able to see all our friends in the area and even entertain them. The weather was mostly cold and rainy (unusually) so knowing how to keep a wood fire was essential. The owner was very nice.

A Little Slice of Heaven!

Truly a hidden gem! Squirrels and turkeys visit in the meadow during the day and you're serenaded at night with the hooting of owls in the stunning oak trees. Lilly is the perfect host. So attentive to anything you need. Absolutely, a place you need to visit!

Magical location

We stayed at the Woodsy Cottage for a month while we waited for our new home to close escrow. The location is convenient to the Barlow and all of the restaurants and shops in Sebastopol. Even better… it’s on a quiet road amongst the redwoods. Very private and quiet, magical! It was a little chilly during our stay. If we didn't have to leave for work, we would have had the wood stove going and then it would have been a “cozy cottage”. The host, Lilly, was lovely and responsive. Thank you!

Pleasant seclusion

The cottage was even better than VRBO description. The cottage is surrounded by beautifully kept flowers and shrubs. The cottage itself looked like it was just painted and has kept in a clean and neat state. A back deck that invited us to linger there for meals and conversation. The quiet forest surrounding this spot was idyllic. Kitchen very well appointed with matching table ware, pots and pans. All kitchen and bathroom supplies in abundance. The living room was a bit dark mainly because of LED lighting. A king size bed would have been nice, but we made do with a comfortable queen bed. Our host was ever attentive and responded to any request we made.

Great cottage-

My husband and I enjoyed everything Sebastopol has to offer. The owner was great and very helpful. It is better than what photos tell you which is pretty good. So worth the visit to wine country- Pacific Ocean (14miles from cottage)- and Northern Ca. It is a truly beautiful area to visit! Warm days cool nights and beautiful scenery! What more could you want! Oh and fresh veggies sold on side of road everywhere - yum. Please give the Woodsy Cottage a try- you’ll be delighted - it’s kind of magical!

Lilly was most helpful.

Lilly rushed out to purchase a new TV when the existing one died. We really appreciated this. The supply of paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap was provided. All dishes and utensils were provided. Telephone service nationwide 24/7 was a plus because cells were not reliable. The queen bed was comfortable wished it had been a king size - but you can use the bed upstairs. The front and rear private patios are waiting for your morning coffee. When you sit in the back patio you enjoy the birds and believe that you are in a lovely serene forest...Wish that I had brought along a couple of sweaters for the early mornings and Bodega Bay. We drove North to walk along the Jenner Beach. Enjoyed our visit to California especially Andy's Market for fruits and vegetables. Flavor's Bistro was our favorite restaurant in Sebastopol !!!! Next door OH's Chinese was so delicious -especially the walnut shrimp lunch servings - and the service at both of these establidhments was 5 star quality..

Perfect Cottage in the country and yet so close to everything!

We needed a place to stay while having some work done on our home and Lilly's Woody's Cottage was perfect in everyway. Lilly has created a perfect home away from home that has everything you might need. The cottage is one of the most equipped rentals we've come across. The kitchen has most everything you might need to prepare a meal and the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. While the cottage was perfect, the surrounding area was amazing. You're on a country road with horses, sheep, and chickens, which was a nice change of pace for us because we live in an urban area. We loved our daily walks with our dogs up and down the road. The cottage is very close to everything you might need with local grocery, hardware, walking/bike trail (west county regional trail) and restaurants galore. The location was perfect for getting away to the coast or exploring the wineries. I did quite a few bike rides from the house and really enjoyed the multiple route options. This cottage is perfect and Lilly was a gracious and thoughtful host. We hope to come back.

Incredible Place!!

Lily's cottage was perfect for me as a traveling social worker working at a local hospital. It was a beautiful refuge that I rarely wanted to leave. That is saying a lot considering the gorgeous region it is located in! Lily was so great and communicative. She always respected my privacy and was sweet to check in every once in awhile to see if I needed anything. I loved my time spent at her lovely cottage in the woods! Thanks Lily!

delightful cottage in wooded area close to everything

We loved our stay in Sebastopol and so did our dog, Maddie. The nearby area has lots to offer including wineries, good restaurants to suit every taste and nearby recreational offerings including a very nice (well run) dog park and a great place nearby to board your doggie for several hours while you do your thing (golf, beach-combing, nicer restaurants, etc). The cottage has everything your could need for a restful or active stay away from home. Lily was very friendly and helped to make our stay as wonderful as it was. We'd love to return someday.

Nice clean cute cottage. Sets down in a wooded area with small fields surrounding.

Cottage was very nice. Lilly and Dave were so nice. Turkey would be in the small grassy area front of place. Neighbors were quiet. It was a great place to relax. 30 minutes to the ocean. Wineries every where. Great little towns within driving to shop, dine and just walk around. Just beautiful everywhere. Thank you Lily and Buzz. We enjoyed immensely.

A wonderful experience

Our stay was awesome. Lily and David have a wonderful place in wine country and they make you feel like it's all yours. Peaceful, beautiful, and everything a home needs for the good life. It's close to stores and activities yet you're surrounded by stunning countryside. I couldn't imagine a better place for a vacation, a quiet getaway, or any reason for living in fine style. By far the best lodging experience our family has ever had. Thank you Lily and David.

Impeccable

It was all wonderful - well appointed, very comfortable bed, excellent appliances, big fluffy towels, nice big HD TV with Xfinity cable and internet. Lovely back patio with large oak trees providing dappled shade, so even if temp is hot, patio is very pleasant. There are lots of beautiful plants and flowers. Buzz and Lily are very congenial hosts and went out of their way to make our stay terrific. It's a delightfully peaceful/private location with a country feel but so close to everything.

Lovely Environment

My family and I stayed at this lovely environment for the weekend while we attended 2 memorials. It suited our purposes, and eating breakfast together outside in the patio with the redwood trees and beautifully landscaped yard was a welcome tranquil treat before leaving for our various events. We were only sorry we didn't have more time to stay and enjoy the outside more.

Wonderful Retreat

Our family enjoyed our stay here so much. It's a well-appointed home with plenty of creature comforts--like plush terry cloth towels, super comfortable beds, cozy wood-burning stove with dry wood and fire starters, excellent stackable W/D, lots of fleecy throw blankets for cool nights, all necessary kitchen amenities, and beautiful flowering plants to treat the eye. Just like the description says, we really did see quail and wild turkeys, and I'm sure deer graze there frequently. We loved our dinner al fresco on the patio surrounded by gorgeous, tall, lush trees and greenery, and every night after putting the kids to bed upstairs we curled up in front of the fire and soaked up the peace and quiet. The upstairs worked beautifully for our two young children. Our 4-year-old daughter felt like a princess in the upstairs room with its sunny views, walk-in closet, room to play, and comfortable bed with soft, attractive bedding. The owner, Lilly, was helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable about the area, offering us tips for navigating the Sebastopol/Bodega Bay area and beyond. We enjoyed idyllic drives through bucolic scenes, warm pebble and sand beaches overlooking haystack rocks in the sunshine, and the great food and wine intrinsic to the area. The house is just a few minutes from town and from Andy's, a great local grocery that serves up strong lattes and tons of fresh, organic, awesome fruits and veggies. Bottom line: unpack and stay awhile (we stayed a week). The owners have good taste. They don't skimp on the stuff that makes an out-of-town visit comfortable. It does make a difference to sleep in a nicely made bed and wake to a misty morning that soon rolls into a sunny day. There were no disappointments.
