ABOUT THE SPACE
This space was designed to showcase the beautiful forest around it. The panoramic views of the treetops through the huge picture windows make you feel like you have escaped civilization even though you are only a few miles away from town. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare your favorite meals and if you are a coffee/tea drinker, we’ve got you covered. Around the fire pit out back is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature. Or maybe you’d prefer getting cozy in front of the fireplace for a movie. When you’re ready to hit the hay you have your options and they all include memory foam mattresses.The main floor bedroom features a queen bed, the king bed is on the second floor, or you can climb the ladder to the third floor loft where there are two twin XL beds along with a breathtaking 30 ft high view. Whether you are in town for a game, business trip, or just to get away, you will feel at home at the Black Warrior Retreat.

This is a great place for anyone looking for a quiet and simple getaway. The cabin itself is very nice and was meticulously clean when we arrived. The location is great as you get the benefit of seclusion without being too remote. It close to town which was convenient for shopping and dining. The hosts were beyond accommodating and were readily available for questions. I would consider staying here again and will recommend to others!

We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful house! The property was incredibly relaxing and lovely. It was conveniently close to everything we needed while still letting us soak in the beautiful nature around us—truly perfect for our getaway!The only shower/tub combo is a bit high, with a handheld showerhead and a shower curtain. I’m 5'7", and the top of the tub reaches about mid-thigh for me. So if you have someone in your group who might have balance issues or difficulty stepping over higher surfaces, it’s good to keep that in mind. Thankfully, it worked out great for us since neither of us had any issues. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Awesome House

The hiuse was amazing and the location was giving. The description was wrong when it came to bedrooms and bathrooms but we made it work. Very cozy and exciting if you dont live in tbis type of environment. I Would rent again!

Nice new Cabin

We had a great stay at the Black Warrior Cabin. Location is quiet and safe. Well appointed kitchen and several towels.The cabin could use some window treatments as the sun was blinding at times, and the hot water/shower/tub combo could use a little upgrade.Overall, we enjoyed our time to visit our daughter in college.

Respite during our final drive home to Lexington, KY

We found the perfect spot to spend the night and break our 12 hour drive up into a 2 day trip. We had dogs, 2 cars, and we were towing a trailer so needed a dog friendly location with safe place to park. The cabin is super dog friendly and the hosts were very helpful and accommodating!

Christmas at Cabin in the Woods

We had a lovely stay at Cabin in the woods. It is a beautiful retreat nestled in the woods yet convenient to get to. Host was very attentive and friendly. Even though we could not get fireplace started we still enjoyed outside pit. The surrounding wooded land was breathtaking. We would rent again in future.

Bama Boy’s Basketball Game

We had a wonderful long weekend for just the Taylor boy’s. It had been a while since we had all been together & never just the family boy’s. The cabin was a huge hit! All boy’s, being in a cabin & in the woods what boy would not enjoy that? Although not in the deep woods the location gave the feeling of being well out into the country. The cabin was new, clean, & had all of our needs more than covered. Josh was wonderful & replied promptly to answer the few questions that we did have. Thank you!

Tranquil property! Stunning views!

We had an amazing time at the Black Warrior Retreat! The property is gorgeous! It was quiet and peaceful. The cabin is beautifully decorated in a modern, minimalist style. It is stunning! We slept comfortably in the beds and enjoyed the soaking tub! We made home cooked meals in the kitchen that was stocked with beautiful cookware and dinnerware! A quick 15 minute drive to campus was no problem at all! Can’t wait to go back to this property!
