Pam & John Pearson
About Pam & John Pearson
We knew this place was for us the moment we saw it and after 10 years, the view still takes our breath away! We moved from Keswick in the Lake District where for many years we juggled children, full & part time jobs, performing, composing & recording our music in London. As if all that wasn't challenging enough, once our children had finally flown the nest, we decided to emigrate! Who could blame us! This was partly to enable us to live a more self-sufficient life style with fewer bills due to having solar power and our own spring water and also to enable us to spend more time on our music. We never know whether to advertise the fact that we are musicians in case people may think we are noisy rock´n rollers, I can assure you we´re not, keeping our musical activities nearer to the coast. We enjoy the contrast, have no TV and just love the peace and quiet here, very rarely playing music in the house, preferring to listen to the nightingales and other unidentified rustlings.... We just love waking up to deep blue skies most days & having the space to keep chickens, having no visible neighbours and being away from the general hustle and bustle. Please feel free to check out the website of our musical activities: pam and john . net (without the gaps)

Why Pam & John Pearson chose Castell de Castells
Although we work musically here in Spain, we love the tranquility of this beautiful countryside. It offers us the contrast we need between working on the coast during the busy season and the calmness of our home in the hills. .

Gracious, Fun hosts Pam and John made our ten night stay an ideal getaway in Spain
The apartment is just a lovely as the photos imply, if not more so......and the large terrace was our favorite spot night and day - to enjoy meals, tapas, coffee, and lazy evening star and moon gazing. Having Pam and John available for questions and ideas / maps for places to visit was a huge plus; they treated us like old friends from the moment we met - yet keep quiet and in the background too. It was unexpected fun to enjoy a couple of their band's gigs at local venues too, and they even introduced us to wonderful local people. The walks and hikes from right out our door were enchanting, and we'll be back soon as we can.
It was a pleasure meeting you guys and we look forward to seeing you again.
The apartement is absolutely lovely. It is cosy and welcoming. Brilliant area for lots of walks right from the finca. The track towards the house is a bit bumpy but manageable with the average hire car. If you want to play it 200% safe, hire a 4x4. We saw quite a lot of wildlife in the area which we enjoyed. The owners Pam and John are extremely helpful and caring.
Lovely place, great scenery
We had a wonderful week in the Castells area. It's in a perfect if you like beautiful mountain scenery, fresh air and walking. The apartment itself has everything you need and is nicely decorated to a high standard. The rooftop terrace gives wonderful views all round and you truly feel away from the hustle and bustly of cities. Pam and John are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. HIghly recommended
Away from it all!
We found the property perfectly situated to tackle the numerous fabulous walks in the local area without having to travel too far. The apartment was not huge, but contained everything we needed for an enjoyable, cosy stay ... and of course the outside space with it's great views was amazing. It did get a little chilly for a few days we were there and so we were really grateful when John filled the log basket for us to use with the log-burner. John & Pam made the booking process really easy & were the perfect hosts and always there should you need them. There are very few properties available in this beautiful part of the Costa Blanca mountains, and so if you're looking to explore the surrounding area, Fig Tree House may well be the perfect base.
A great place beautiful, quiet, comfortable, warm.
Had a lovely time place was fantastic a tranquil beautiful hide away. In a great location for climbing and walking. Owners were great very friendly and helpful, and place was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend it to friends and hope to go back.
The landscape of the Marina Alta is extremely varied, with miles of blue flag sandy beaches, rugged mountain ranges with a green paradise of valleys holding a wealth of citrus, almond and olive groves and carpets of wine producing vines.
The region boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year.
The apartment is above a British owned country house in the Jalon valley, and is located 5ks from the village of Castell de Castells where you can experience the charm of real Spain & find several tapas bars, a restaurant, Saturday market, 2 small supermarkets, a chemist, bank, an ATM machine, and a tabac where one buys postage stamps! All in a picturesque mountain village of only 500 inhabitants!
Castells also has tennis courts, a swimming pool, most grades of walks that can include mountains higher than Ben Nevis and prehistoric caves with 8,000 year old paintings. Castell de Castells also boasts a 50 piece brass orchestra who play in the village square during fiesta time (mid August) & on the many other celebratory occasions.
From the apartment it is a 20 min drive to the market town of Jalon where there is a fruit & veg market on Tuesdays & a large rastro on Saturday mornings. There are also several bodegas where you can sample the local wines.
The very pleasant and not too busy coastal towns & beaches of Javea, Moraira, Denia & Calpe are all about a 40 min drive away.
Also in the area are the caves of Vall d'Ebo and Benidoleig.
Near Castells, the highest peak of the Serrella mountain range is named Malla de Llop, which is over 1300 metres high. The remains of an Arabic castle, Penya Castellet, and many trails are found in the area, popular for walking and mountain biking. The area has a rich history with three settlements around the
village: Pla de Petracos, Bitla and Pla d'Alt (The High Place).
